"Here's the image"
So I decided to use both computers I have, and the image is still not showing up for me for either of them (all that's showing up is a gray box with a picture of what appears to be a mountain and the sun, which I assume is the error screen for Fandom's "image only" mode). - Try this instead. Aidan, the Rurouni 23:29, May 6, 2021 (EDT)
- Just did, and for both ways I entered the link (one from simply clicking the link, and the other via the "highlight, then click on 'Go to link'" thing), all it's doing for me is redirecting to the just the Final Fantasy Wiki page for the FF7 remake. Is Fandom just broken right now or something? SuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle Tribe 23:37, May 6, 2021 (EDT)
- Here's a link from Gematsu of the same image so you don't have to deal with Fandom's terrible gallery/image system. Fandom has acted this way for years and it makes checking dead links on the alt costume pages a pain. --CanvasK (talk) 23:44, May 6, 2021 (EDT)

Username change request.
I would like to change my Username from Pwwnd123 to Dr. Peach. I prefer to use that name more since I am transitioning over to that name since I created my Nookipedia account a few days ago. --Pwwnd123 (talk) 16:29, May 16, 2021 (EDT)

Rename request
Hi, Aidan! I would like to be renamed Unfortified Castle. Simply put, I'm not a fan of the DarkFox01 name anymore, and I'd like a new name that isn't tied to any character.
Per the renaming policy, I'll check back in with you in a couple days to confirm the change. Thanks in advance! DarkFox01A bomb has been planted at the base. 03:10, June 11, 2021 (EDT)
- This is confirmation that I want to go through with the rename. DarkFox01 (for now) 00:37, June 14, 2021 (EDT)

A question about the rename policy
Hi, I know this might be a dumb question, but I thought I might ask anyway.
So I want my username to be changed to The Jacketed Terrapin (I only settled on JacketedTerrapin cuz I was trying to find a way to keep "of the Turtle Tribe" in my signature while also making it the link to my contributions page, but no matter what, I could never fit it in and I decided to entirely drop the "of the Turtle Tribe" moniker), but I'm wondering if usernames with minor alterations still have to follow the username change policies (wait a few days later to confirm your new name and you can't request another username change for another 6 months). The Jacketed Terrapin 21:48, July 4, 2021 (EDT)
- The point of the confirmation part of the policy is to prevent sudden cases of "actually, I don't like this name and I want it changed back", and sort of extends to the 6 month period part, in addition to that being to prevent people from taking up too many usernames. However, I think something minor like this would be a reasonable thing to make an exception for. That being said, in line with the spirit of the policy, I'll ask that you again reconfirm in a few days to make certain you're absolutely sure about the name change. Aidan, the Rurouni 18:02, July 5, 2021 (EDT)
The logos you added to my sandbox
Hey, I noticed you added your logos for Ori and Celeste to my "Third-party universes that should be in Smash" sandbox. While I do appreciate you contributing to the page, I would rather have the file names of the logos match exactly how the others are named (i.e. File:Universe Name logo.filetype) and the images themselves be cropped so there isn't any unnecessary space (do keep in mind the stuff on that page is meant to go on the mainspace should the right time come).
Before doing that, though, I wanna ask you this, since you also have both of these logos on one of your own userpages: Would you be okay if your logos are altered to cater to my page's standards or would you rather have separate files of the logos uploaded instead? The Jacketed Terrapin 21:26, July 20, 2021 (EDT)
- If you want to reupload the files and crop out the whitespace, be my guest, I won't stop you, lol. Aidan, the Rurouni 21:27, July 20, 2021 (EDT)
- To clarify: these would be new files altogether, and not me changing the naming scheme of my files that I use elsewhere.
- Also, as an aside, I specified "Matt Makes Games (now Extremely OK Games)" under Celeste because the game never updated its copyright—Maddy Thorson outright said that Celeste (and TowerFall, made by the same team) would still remain published under Matt Makes Games, despite the name change. Aidan, the Rurouni 21:34, July 20, 2021 (EDT)
Can you change my name?
Can you change my name please? I wanna change it to SmashBros.PikachuUltimate, but I don't wanna get in trouble with the admins again, considering how that went last time. AkaneiaIsFake Akaneia is fake, Ness is cool. 14:16, September 4, 2021 (EDT)

Spirit Battle discussion
Hello, I wanted to talk with you regarding the reverting and excessive bloating of certain pages with spirit battles.
Namely, the reason I break them down the way I do because a lot of that stuff feels so bloated and I wanted the facts to be short and clear to the point. Autismo555 (talk) 10:11, January 16, 2022 (EST)
- I do not find it to be excessive bloating. The points, as you write them, are short and abrupt, and do not cover information in a readable way. It seems I'm not the only one who has this opinion about your handling of the inspiration column, and I'm certainly not the only one who thought they should be changed. The point is to cover information and references made in the spirit battle, it isn't to go point by point. Obviously I won't lobby for a paragraph for each point, and sure, I'll admit that sometimes I can put a lot of information into something when a chunk of it could stand to not be there, but the point of a wiki is to make things easily readable to viewers.
- Let's take some specific points from the Kingdom Hearts series' spirit battles, as examples. In the Riku spirit battle, the following was present before my edit:
- Corrin and Riku are both grey-haired swordfighters.
- Corrin's blue costume references the costume Riku wears while possessed by Ansem, Seeker of Darkness.
- Disregarding the falseness of the second point (because that one's on me, I misremembered the chronology of events in Hollow Bastion), these two could easily be put into one single point that combined like information with like information, to form the following:
- Corrin's grey hair and blue outfit represent Riku, with Corrin's blue costume referencing the costume Riku wears during his first fight in Hollow Bastion.
- Additionally, moving along to the Axel spirit battle, the following was present before my edit:
- Roy and Axel are both red-haired characters who use bladed weapons and fire-based attacks.
- The stage references the computer room in Twilight Town where Roxas battles Axel in the opening of Kingdom Hearts II.
- The stage transitions to the Blazing Chamber layout, referencing how Axel encircled the computer room with fire during his boss battle.
- The second battle condition further references Axel's ability to use fire-based attacks.
- Roy starting off with a Hothead references Axel's Chakrams, which he can infuse with his pyrokinesis.
- Again, these points can be made more concise to combine like with like, especially since the last two are more related to the first point, and outright separated from it due to the stage stuff being in the middle. As such, I changed it to the following:
- Roy and Axel are both red-haired characters who use bladed weapons and fire-based attacks. Roy starting off with a Hothead references Axel's Chakrams, which he can infuse with his pyrokinesis, and the second battle condition further references Axel's ability to use fire-based attacks.
- The stage references the computer room in Twilight Town where Roxas battles Axel in the opening of Kingdom Hearts II. The stage transitions to the Blazing Chamber layout, referencing how Axel encircles the computer room with fire during his boss battle.
- It overall makes it much more readable, and I'd hardly call two complete and fuller sentences "bloat", especially within the context of the spirit battles.
- Finally, truth be told, a lot of the information that I cut out was speculation. I've told you about this before, but there was a lot of speculation that felt like way too big a stretch to be saying, especially on a mainspace article. We have policies in place that disallow for speculation altogether, so I'm not even sure why they were still put back up there (which you yourself reinserted onto the page). If you want specific examples on speculation that I cut, and why I cut it, see here.
- You are free to make your case, but that is where I stand. Aidan, the Celebratory Rurouni 15:48, January 16, 2022 (EST)
- Here's my case: I stand by using bulleted points to break down each spirit battle because the way you merged some of those points in one makes it feel so clumped up together, like in your edits of the Kingdom Hearts spirit battles, for example. Some of the inspiration points look so clumpy, it's almost hard to look at, which is why I feel compelled to break them down. I want to make those points as clear and concise as I can. If you'd ask me, I would show you what I'd do to break down the battle, but still keep faithful in your personal expectations on the layout of the inspirations columns. If not, then I'd go back to all of the Spirits pages where I listed the inspiration behind the spirit battle, blank out the inspiration columns, and allow you and anyone else to start over from scratch WITHOUT reverting it all.
- Autismo555 (talk) 12:31, January 20, 2022 (EST)
- I, again, fail to see how it's all clumped together. Covering the information in a concise way is a good thing to aim for, but separating everything into tiny little points makes it extremely unreadable. The way that I've tackled this is also progressively going through the information for a battle, but, again, combining like with like to make it more readable.
- If we look at how I have Roxas set up currently:
- "Roxas is Sora's Nobody in Kingdom Hearts II. He is able to dual-wield Keyblades, primarily using the combination of Oblivion and Oathkeeper, referenced here by Sora starting off with a Killing Edge."
- This covers why Sora is used in the Roxas spirit battle, and why Sora has an additional weapon equipped alongside his own main weapon. It's much better than the very short and very abrupt "Sora is the origin of his Nobody, Roxas.", and the "Sora starting off with a Killing Edge references how Roxas dual-wields his Oathkeeper & Oblivion Keyblades." thrown in at the very end, completely separate from the first point.
- "The overall battle represents Sora's battle with Roxas in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, where Sora meets with Roxas in The World That Never Was, and is pulled into battle at the Station of Serenity. Initially just a cutscene in Kingdom Hearts II, the scene was expanded upon in Final Mix to turn it into a fully-fledged boss battle."
- This gives not only a bit of context to the entire spirit battle and to what it pays homage, but also (albeit subtly) explains why the stage used was chosen. It covers it in a much more concise way than the two separate points of "The stage references the Station of Serenity, the location of Roxas' boss battle in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix." and "The stage and music represent Roxas' Dive to the Heart station in Kingdom Hearts II."
- The other two points were inserted by you, so I'm not gonna go into them.
- If we look at how I have Roxas set up currently:
- I can get there being a difference of opinion in how this should be handled, no one's gonna think exactly the same as me and I'm not going to try and make you do that. But I asked for consensus, and I got it. Aidan, the Celebratory Rurouni 12:48, January 20, 2022 (EST)
- Here's my response.

- One, I'm wondering if you can get a consensus to change the layout to the previously proposed collapsible spirit battle inspirations, which cuts down the cramped feeling of the Spirits. I would go out and do this myself, but CanvasK is quite adamant about getting the consesus before the change is implemented.
- Two, I would like you to review my changes and see if some of them are up to your expectations.

- As I mentioned to you previously, I've considered adding a "{{hidden}}" template to the wiki that would replace the giant string of text that you'd have to put before hiding something. I might run it by some people, and see if I can get consensus on using it for the inspiration column. It'd look something like this:

- As for the table itself, some of these I can agree with. I think I might, at some point, go into specific points (in another pastebin) to explain why I would go with my wording over yours, but some of these are at least agreeable upon. Aidan, the Celebratory Rurouni 13:07, January 20, 2022 (EST)
- Oh no, I'm sorry, I meant for the proposed layout by Canvas K, which (IMO) should help with the spacing in the Spirits page. Autismo555 (talk) 13:13, January 20, 2022 (EST)
- Sorry to butt in but, "...CanvasK is quite adamant about getting the consesus before the change is implemented." The forum that Aidan linked to above had 7 people in unanimous agreement to simply reword the spirit trivia from multiple bullets to fewer full sentences/paragraphs. The proposal on the trivia column on the disambig page was filled with multiple people proposing wildly different things, and many of them saw someone else's design and shoved their idea in it (as you can see by my userpage you linked). At most a single design got 2 people on board. That is not enough, in my opinion nor the policy's opinion, to fully go through with it. Additionally, again in the forum linked, Aidan and I agreed that something should be done with the overall format but that it was a separate monster that should be handled at another time. --CanvasK (talk) 13:15, January 20, 2022 (EST)

- Something I just noticed (or remembered, been a while) is that collapsible elements don't work on mobile, which is where the large amount of text is the biggest problem. A work-around would be to use max-height and overflow-y to limit the size and make a scrollbar, and I had used it in a template idea before (before I went back on it but for other reasons). Additionally, the collapsible elements leaves an empty button when dealing with rowspans. --CanvasK (talk) 13:35, January 20, 2022 (EST)
- Is that dependent on the website's mobile view or the mobile phone itself? Because I can access the collapsible tables just fine. Autismo555 (talk) 13:40, January 20, 2022 (EST)
- I checked on Android with Chrome and Firefox. Doesn't work on either. The MediaWiki manual also says it won't work on mobile. --CanvasK (talk) 13:43, January 20, 2022 (EST)

Hitbox images
I noticed the hitbox images for Sora's Thundaga and Blizzaga aren't here, but they are present on ultimateframedata.com. Would I upload the images from there, or is there another way to do it? Sigma San (talk) 13:30, March 19, 2022 (EDT)
- Unless I'm mistaken, I'm fairly certain we get our images from there to begin with, so I don't see why there'd be a problem with you uploading the images from there. Aidan, the Rurouni 00:21, March 20, 2022 (EDT)
AFD layout
Hi, so the AFD layout is making browsing the Wiki extremely slow to the point of me getting "This page is unresponsive" messages constantly, especially on pages that require much more CPU power.
I would like to know if there is a way for me to completely disable this layout on my end. The Jacketed Terrapin 02:15, April 1, 2022 (EDT)

- Deleting users is only within the context of merging accounts. I don't think we have the ability to delete a user's account in a completely isolated way. Aidan, the Springing Rurouni 15:12, April 19, 2022 (EDT)
- I'm pretty sure they can. It says so on SW:BCRAT, and I believe I've seen Toomai or someone mention it before. Not that it really matters anyway. Alex the Weeb 15:16, April 19, 2022 (EDT)
- Right, I know the point you're referring to: "Can rename or merge and delete users." We have the ability to rename users, or merge accounts (which deletes one of the two accounts merged together). Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd be surprised if that's been a thing that I just haven't been aware about, because to my knowledge, no one has the ability to delete their own or another user's account. It could very well have been me talking out of my ass—while it is likely that he came from that alt, since Sakurai directed both Brawl and Uprising (exactly that is listed on Dark Pit's general page), me having said that could have just been a combination of speculation/misinformation. Or there could be some source lying around the internet buried by all the results for Dark Pit's actual alternate costumes in Smash. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Aidan the Festive Gamer 15:49, December 10, 2022 (EST)
- Given how long ago it was, at best I thought you'd have vague memories on if it was a video or article, that'd maybe narrow it down. The closest source I can find is from GameInformer about the Electroshock Arm. If neither of us can find a source, then I'll remove it from the pages I found it mentioned. --CanvasK (talk) 16:01, December 10, 2022 (EST)
