Sorry for taking your time but...
...whats the diffrence between Category:English smashers and Category:British smashers? 46.229.158.109 05:01, April 29, 2020 (EDT)
- Supposedly, English smashers are for players from England, while British smashers are for players from Great Britain as a whole. In other words, if we don't know where a smasher is specifically located, we use the British smashers tag. Unfortunately, currently both categories are a mess, and I don't think anyone had a chance to clean it out yet. CookiesCreme 08:42, April 29, 2020 (EDT)
- So, English smashers is like a, sub-category of British smashers? 46.229.158.109 09:26, April 29, 2020 (EDT)
Voyage Tournament
Hey I just wanted to reach out and see if anything was being planned for Smash Bras Voyage tournament. If not I was going to try to start create pages for the series of qualifying tournaments going on at the moment. Wiifitkid (talk) 13:12, May 4, 2020 (EDT)

Sorting fighters
So, when listing fighters in Smasher infoboxes, how are they sorted? SonDaniel (talk page) 15:25, May 24, 2020 (EDT)
- I'm assuming this is applying to secondaries, since most smashers only have 1-2 characters they seriously use. I always put secondaries they consistently use first, then characters they have dropped after that. Any other character such as characters they constantly use for sandbagging should go at the end. Since I lost access to discord
I was going to mention in the dm but since I can't, I'll just say it here. From what I see I agree that the best for me to do is indeed to take a break from this wiki. But I'm not leaving the wiki forever, in fact I won't be gone for that long, probably for about a week or so. I was actually planning to take a break from discord as well (but not for 6 months) for a while. I am going to return to discord once the ban is lifted, and all I hope for now is for no one to hold a grudge against me for what happened, and once I do return to discord that I'll be accepted back and can show that I learned my lesson. Social Media
Hey Cookies, I was wondering if we could link other social media accounts of related smashers like Facebook. Thanks. S3AHAWK (talk) 21:41, June 28, 2020 (EDT)

DQs/Forfeits
The way that I've dealt with cases like these for years is:
1. Full DQ/Forfeit: If they didn't lose at all, it's okay to just put "(DQ)" next to their name without a note.
2. DQ in Losers: Since the implication is that they lost in Winners, obviously it shouldn't be considered a full DQ, so a note is fine.
3. DQ in Winners: I've noticed that you've been listing these as basically being full DQs, but I think this is misguided. There have been plenty of tournaments where a player was DQed in Winners but still played their Losers matches out (the most notable cases being Mango at Press Start and ZeRo at Final Battle, who both still ended up winning their respective tournaments). I think the "DQ in Winners" note should ONLY be reserved for cases like this. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 00:23, August 3, 2020 (EDT)
- That's fine. When I put DQ in Winners, I meant they DQ'd from Winners, thus a full DQ, but I do kinda see how that could be misguided as well. CookiesCreme 06:01, August 3, 2020 (EDT)

Do you hate my changes, Cookies and Creme? SafariKid2 (talk) 15:18, November 8, 2020 (EST)
- No. I just changed your most recent one because you literally listed every newcomer's splash screen on that one simple Terry trivia. That's overkill. CookiesCreme 15:21, November 8, 2020 (EST)
- Oh, sorry. I was just very confused. Sorry if it was overkill. SafariKid2 (talk) 23:15, November 23, 2020 (EST)
What constitutes a minor glitch?
The reason you gave for the deletion of my Min Min T-Pose glitch article is that we don't need one for every minor glitch. The issue is that I don't believe that is a minor glitch. It is a consistently repeatable glitch that has the capability to soft lock the game if the players are not careful. I think the issue is that there is no clear difference between major and minor glitch explained anywhere on this site. The closest thing I can find is that minor glitches have small amounts of information and have been patched out. If that is the case, then there are other patched out glitches that have little information, such as the buster wolf freeze glitch, that still have articles up without issue. What this site needs is a dedicated section that clearly explains the criteria to be a major or minor glitch —Preceding unsigned comment added by The Other Jared (talk • contribs) 15:38, November 8, 2020 (EST)
- Quick thing, I wasn't the one who tagged nor deleted the article. I read it as a minor glitch because the deletion reason was "minor glitch. Already mentioned on T-pose article." As for the minor/major glitch distinction, there was a discussion on this a while back ago. It's probably better to ask Aidan, the one who submitted that proposal. About Meden/Dream redirect...
Hey, we've been trying to clear up some confusion regarding https://www.ssbwiki.com/index.php?title=Smasher:Dream&action=history , our tournament result tables and PRs for Melee (dating back to 2015 even) suddenly got a redirect to Meden's page, this might cause some confusion since there are many pages which already got the 'Dream' link. Seeing as Meden doesn't use that tag anymore i don't see how he can claim this page as his own, creating a page seemed the most effective course of action, hmmm so, please don't revert any changes done to this new page unless you got a better reason to do so. t. Drm 11/19/2020 @ 5:48pm (UTC)
- Funny, I just posted something on your talk page about it. I redirected all those Dream links to Dream (Mexico) and made a page there. In the future, do that with other players who are linked to a different Smasher. CookiesCreme 12:52, November 19, 2020 (EST)
Thanks, will do! That was an edit by a friend. Didn't know pages could be automatically generated with results like that, and it seems the links were automatically fixed as well. Amazing! Sorry to bother you :p t. Drm 11/19/2020 @ 6:05pm (UTC)

Can you give me a link to these so-called "guidelines?" SafariKid2 (talk) 18:26, February 20, 2021 (EST)

PR images
Since you're one of the few people I know of who is involved in the competitive side of the wiki I wanted to ask a couple things regarding Power Ranking images. The first is what category they should be listed under. From what I can see the majority use the same categories as the page they are used on (similar to Smashers). The second is about licensing. A lot seem to be unlicensed but the ones that do have the public domain license on them. I was going through the uncategorized file list and figured I'd leave licensing for another time, but may as well kill two birds with one stone and do both if possible. --CanvasK (talk) 13:40, March 18, 2021 (EDT)
- The majority of the PR images I took were either from Twitter or another social media site such as Reddit and SmashBoards via their region's accounts, so I'd assume they would be public domain. As for categories, I believe it's best to categorize them under their PR's category - for example This Maine PR would go under Category:American Power Rankings - in a similar vein to how tournament images are categorized under their tournament's category CookiesCreme 13:47, March 18, 2021 (EDT)
I won't add in any more examples
I promise not to add in any more examples for victory pose clappers, I won't do it anymore. It is not necessary and it DOES add in more bloat to the section. I really won't do it. I will just keep it as Bowser, Dark Pit, Ridley, Incineroar and Sephiroth. Also, what happens if I do it one last time? 81.110.120.177 02:32, May 29, 2021 (EDT)
- It would be considered edit warring, and if an admin is brought attention to it, you'll most likely be issued a block for a few days. CookiesCreme 09:57, May 29, 2021 (EDT)
How does Lucina clap begrudgingly?
Hey! I have a question to ask about clapping animations. You know how some people say that Lucina claps impolitely? Is it true? If yes, tell me how she claps begrudgingly. If you have the game Super Smash Bros Ultimate with Lucina unlocked, please do a 1 stock match as either P1 or CPU and watch her clap and tell me if she is polite or begrudging. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.110.120.177 (talk • contribs) 22:24, 2021 June 1
- First off, you need to sign your comments (~~~~). Second, even if she does clap begrudgingly, the trivia is already dubious (and truthfully, it doesn't even need to exist) and doesn't need any more examples. I suggest you leave that section alone. Omega Toαd, the Toad Warrior. (I'm the best!) 19:26, June 1, 2021 (EDT)
Oh, sorry if for not signing my post and also, I don't think Lucina claps begrudgingly. Technically, I think the word 'polite' would be better. 81.110.120.177 10:32, June 2, 2021 (EDT)
On Editing Mains
Hey there! Can I ask how many tournaments a player must attend with a certain character for it to be deemed appropriate to display their main as said character? Thanks! CrocodileSmash (talk) 00:43, June 16, 2021 (EDT)
- There isn't a set guideline, so really you should view it case-by-case. But in general, if a player has been committed to a main for at least a month or two in tournament, especially if the player has used the main at regionals and above, I'd say that it's a main. How do I know if a player is worth writing a page or not?
Hi Cookies and Creamers (I apologize for the spontaneous nickname and will remove it if you wish so), how do I know if a player deserves an article? I know, of course, if the player itself is a highly distinguished player or at least a professional is obvious, but the lines around content creation sort of blur. To be more specific, I want to write an article on Chippy, you know, the funny Marss guy, but I'm not sure if he falls under "eligible for article writing". As far as I know, he's never been ranked offline or online, but he has taken sets off DM and Unleashed and (after a bit of digging) an online set off Goblin. And, well, everyone knows the funny Marss guy, but I don't think I can proceed. What are the requirements for writing a player article?Certainlyfour (talk) 03:12, June 21, 2021 (EDT)
- Not Cookies he should be probably sleeping rn, but I have looked at Chippy results before and I think his results seems already passable overall before the recent invitationals. You should look at the notability guidline tho for more details. If Chippy satisfied the guideline then he is a notable player and therefore can have a page. By the way, Semi-professional exists and I would imagine Chippy having this skill status if he is going to have a page. NPM Morr!? 04:11, June 21, 2021 (EDT)
I'm sorry
Hey, I'm sorry for talking about Sonic The Hedgehog and Solid Snake in Super Smash Bros Melee, I do know that Wario was greatly considered but not added due to excessive number of Mario characters. I know it is inaccurate. Also, I know that:
A. Sonic was considered, but not added to Melee. There was no code name for Sonic and Sakurai never intended to have Sonic in Melee.
B. Kojima asked Sakurai if Snake could be in Melee, but development was too far ahead to even add Snake. I now understand that Snake was not planned for Melee.
I'm really sorry and please tell me what I can edit so I don't get told to stop. 94.5.199.60 06:08, June 22, 2021 (EDT)
- I'm thinking you're taking the reversions a bit too seriously. Aside from the misconception, there really isn't anything wrong with the edit. People make mistakes like that all the time, and it's natural they get reverted. You're free to edit anything that isn't protected but I do recommend reading this first and going through the guidelines linked in the navbox at the end of the page. Age requirement for ssbwiki
Less of a ssbwiki thing and just more a personal thing, is there an age requirement to edit here? Certainlyfour (talk) 02:56, July 11, 2021 (EDT)
- Not Cookies but I'll answer your question anyway. Anyone can edit wikis at any age. All that really matters is how you edit, like sometimes kids can be great editors while adults can be trash editors. Omega Toad, the Toad Warrior. (I'm the best!) 03:10, July 11, 2021 (EDT)
Actually I think that because of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act it isn't allowed for kids under 13 to edit with an account, but I might be wrong on this. Rdrfc (talk) 03:34, July 11, 2021 (EDT)
- If they were 12 and joined the ssbwiki Discord server they will be kicked for TOS. But on the wiki we had 12 years old users before so I don't think they are necessarily prohibited. NPM Morr!? 04:21, July 11, 2021 (EDT)
From what I know, COPPA only comes into effect if websites want to collect personal information on someone who is under 13. I don't think SmashWiki does that at all. CookiesCreme 10:34, July 11, 2021 (EDT)

Ok, sory. Green Just a quick question: why not?
How does Steve affect stage legality?
You seem to be invested in the competitive scene, so I was curious about how the tool type Steve uses to mine affects stage legality. The materials he gets on pokemon stadium or smashville are different than on battlefield or omega stages, and even then he uses either a pickaxe, axe, or shovel on different stages (even battlefield and omega stages), meaning stages where he mines with a shovel give him an advantage since he doesn't use a shovel in any attacks. 68.4.176.97 13:08, July 22, 2021 (EDT)
- From what I can tell, it doesn't seem like many people are discussing how Steve's mechanics affect stage legality, especially since it can usually be alleviated by simply doing a stage ban during a set. Of course, offline has only started to return recently so discussion on this would probably become more prominent in the near future. CookiesCreme 13:13, July 22, 2021 (EDT)
