Since you just created an account here, I'll go easy on you, so please have a read of SW:NPOV and our other policies before making any contributions. Thank you! Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Gamer (talk) 12:09, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- Oof. I have heard that Byleth is considered the worst character (or, at least, one of the worst characters) in Ultimate, though. Is it not right to mention why? SafariKid2 (talk) 12:12, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
Maybe ask Cookies and Creme should see about this in "In Competitive Play"S3AHAWK said ketchup won 12:15, June 6, 2020 (EDT)- (edit conflict) Indeed. The first bullet point of that policy says "Avoid stating opinions as facts", such as Byleth being disliked by a lot of people. Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Gamer (talk) 12:17, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- BUT, on that page, the example for that rule concerning Kirby (SSBM) mentioned that editors may state that "Kirby is widely considered one of the worst characters in the Melee due to his poor approach, combo ability, and KO ability, among other factors" rather than "Kirby is the worst character in the game". Of course, that's just an example, as the same rule mentioned that attribution of a particular source, or being described as a widespread should be used instead of actual opinions, alongside other such actions. But I guess the same cannot be said for Byleth. SafariKid2 (talk) 12:28, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- The difference between Melee Kirby and Ultimate Byleth is that Kirby is universally considered one of the worst characters in the game. On the other hand, Byleth is in no way considered one of the worst characters in the game; despite having bad frame data and approach options, his range attacks are still very good. Is he mediocre overall? Yes. But I don't see many people place Byleth among Ganondorf, Little Mac, and other low tiers. CookiesCreme 12:33, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- Maybe people just don't like Byleth because of his bad frame data and approach options (whatever either of those two are)... I guess in my opinion, he is very, VERY underrated since you said that he has good range attacks. I guess only here, I can mention that "Byleth is the most disliked character in Ultimate due to his bad frame data and approach options. As a result, hardly anyone who has the game even plays as Byleth." SafariKid2 (talk) 12:38, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- ...that itself violates SW:NPOV and falls under speculation. First, we don't know who the most hated Ultimate character is, but it for sure isn't Byleth. Second, we don't know if Byleth is hated because of his flaws. Finally, the last sentence is just downright wrong, as before quarantine MkLeo has pulled him out at a few tournaments including Frostbite and Blade has used him as a co-main. CookiesCreme 12:51, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- I keep messing up! Oh well. At least there are a few people who have used him, and like I said, the "attribution of a particular source, or being described as a widespread should be used" part of the "Avoid stating opinions as facts" rule does not seem to apply to him. I STILL think he's underrated due to only his range attacks being good, even though we don't know why people hate him. What are frame data and approach options, anyway? What ever they are, this conversation is over. SafariKid2 (talk) 12:58, June 6, 2020 (EDT)

(reset indent) May want a better explanation from someone else, but this is the basis. Frame data is basically analyzing the frames of each attack, for example what frame the attack starts and what frame it ends. In Byleth's case, his aerials, compared to the rest of the cast, has more "landing frames," that is, the number of frames Byleth can't act after landing while doing an aerial. In addition, most of his moves have a lot of frames before it can hit, and many frames after the move hits. Therefore, if he whiffs an attack opponents can punish rather easily. As for approach, because of his bad frame data, other character can and will abuse it and punish Byleth when he approaches. Furthermore, he has awful mobility in a game where many characters have good or decent mobility, which puts him at a disadvantage. CookiesCreme 13:07, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- I guess you're one of the people who don't like him. Just keep in mind that his range attacks are still very good like you said. NOW this conversation is over! SafariKid2 (talk) 13:24, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- Actually no, I enjoy playing Byleth and think he's a pretty fun character, but he has drawbacks that really cripple him. CookiesCreme 18:42, June 6, 2020 (EDT)

Byleth[edit]
Even if you're disappointed with yet another FE character, please do not add any opinionated statements into the mainspace, that includes crossed out ones and hidden notes. Thanks. OmegαToαd64 18:31, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- Uh... What do you mean yet another FE character? I didn't even know hidden notes could be seen on the main pages... SafariKid2 (talk) 18:47, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- Fire emblem has always been criticized for it's large amount of playable fighters since Corrin's announcement in SSB4. This only grew worse after Chrome and Byleth's announcement, especially the latter.
- Guess Fire Emblem is the least praised franchise because of having the most playable characters, huh? I mean, there's only 8 playable characters from the franchise in Smash! Maybe the fans would be happier if all traces of FE were removed from Ultimate. SafariKid2 (talk) 18:56, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- No. It's more like fans being salty because they didn't get who they wanted. OmegαToαd64 19:03, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- Oh. There's actually quite a few characters the fans wanted to be in Smash. But instead Fire Emblem basically steals the characters' thunder and they come out as either Assist Trophies, Mii costumes or, in the case of Ultimate, spirits. Therefore, I'd say that in my opinion Fire Emblem is VERY underrated. SafariKid2 (talk) 19:13, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- Yeah. So there's no reason to mention the negative reception Byleth recieved. OmegαToαd64 19:15, June 6, 2020 (EDT)

Fire Emblem in the Smash community[edit]
Reguardless of what you believe, Fire Emblem is not killing off the community. Just because 2 characters from that series were negatively recieved, that does not mean the Smash community hates fire emblem. Corrin is not the reason why most people no longer play SSB4 (this is). While it is true fire emblem is somewhat controversial, Byleth's negative reception is still subjective and violates SW:NPOV, as is the other mentions of fire emblem's controversies. Please refrain from this behavior as it is disruptive and not benificial to this wiki. OmegαToαd64 20:51, June 20, 2020 (EDT)
I'm gonna have to second this. I dunno what your obsession is with the Fire Emblem characters and any negative impact they may or may not have, but it's been very disruptive overall. Please refrain from this behavior from now on or you will be given a short block. Disaster Flare (talk) 21:30, June 20, 2020 (EDT)
I object, but I'm gonna take a break from being on this wiki and I'll quit this unhealthy behavior in the meantime... SafariKid2 (talk) 23:07, June 20, 2020 (EDT)
Speculative information.[edit]
Your edits about Min Min's fighter spirit are speculative, we don't know yet how they actually decided to handle it. Please only add verifiable information to articles.--Rdrfc (talk) 12:24, June 23, 2020 (EDT)
About your edit to Downloadable Content (SSBU)[edit]
Because I'm too new of a user, I cannot undo your edit myself.
I would like to correct your removal of a Trivia bullet point that states that Banjo & Kazooie and Terry are "not silent protagonists." I believe that you got mixed up for a second, for as you stated in your own edit description, Banjo & Kazooie are not silent protagonists. Otherwise, I cannot see why you'd remove this point, especially since all of the other Fighters Pass Vol. 1 fighters are silent.
On a related note, I would suggest that you include Min Min in that bullet, since she meets all of the criteria listed; I see no need to list her separately from Banjo & Kazooie and Terry. Sincerely, Samuel the Banjo-Kazooie Boss. (Talk to me, babe | See my great achievements) 22:03, July 12, 2020 (EDT)
- The edit that I asked you to revert implied that Banjo & Kazooie were silent protagonists. The bullet points as they're there now are saying that Terry and Banjo & Kazooie do speak in their home series, and the others don't, which is correct. Please look carefully at what the text says, and correct me if I'm wrong. Sincerely, Samuel the Banjo-Kazooie Boss. 23:06, July 12, 2020 (EDT)
- Kinda had to revert it anyway, since you said you can't undo my edit yourself. Also, Joker, the Hero and Byleth are voiced, they just use grunts and death cries to communicate in the game. SafariKid2 (talk) 11:19, July 13, 2020 (EDT)
SW:1RV[edit]
Please do not edit war. If you disagree with your edit, bring it to the talk page.
As for your edit, the release date of Three Houses has nothing to do with when Sakurai finalized the Fighter Pass 1. CookiesCreme 16:41, August 3, 2020 (EDT)
- But, but ULTIMATE CAME AFTER THE TWEET!!! D: Also, are you trying to say that Sakurai said it was finalized just to foreshadow Byleth? SafariKid2 (talk) 16:44, August 3, 2020 (EDT)
- ...no? All Sakurai stated was that the final lineup was done, most likely to dissuade people from requesting characters for DLC. CookiesCreme 16:47, August 3, 2020 (EDT)
- So maybe he was just saying that before the DLC fighters were even being made for Ultimate... SafariKid2 (talk) 16:49, August 3, 2020 (EDT)
- Why are you so insistent on this? Sakurai has made it clear that he doesn't take DLC suggestions from random people on Twitter, and he said that Nintendo decided the DLC to get people to leave him alone. Aidan, the Rurouni 16:51, August 3, 2020 (EDT)
- Also, in your case, then it would've take much longer than a year to finish the DLC characters, since they wouldn't be able to develop characters simultaneously, or at least right after one character is finished. CookiesCreme 16:52, August 3, 2020 (EDT)
- OK, I'm sorry! :( Guess what you're saying is Byleth was decided by Nintendo early prior to FE 17's release... End of conversation. SafariKid2 (talk) 16:54, August 3, 2020 (EDT)

Spirit stats[edit]
Just wanted to clear up some confusion regarding your edits to the spirit page. Grab is a type of primary spirit, along with Attack, Shield, and Neutral. You were adding it to the stats section which concerns the attack and defense stats (there's an Attack type and attack stat, a bit confusing but that's how it is). There's also nothing special about the type; the main purpose is the type advantageous in battles. --CanvasK (talk) 07:59, October 3, 2020 (EDT)
- Fine, I guess grab spirits don't really need stats unlike attack and defense ones. Just thought I'd clear that up on that's what I'm trying to do, not intending to list types at all. SafariKid2 (talk) 11:18, October 3, 2020 (EDT)
- I assume the confusion is coming from the names of the types and stats. The types are Attack, Shield, Grab, and Neutral. I think you may be confusing the Shield type with the defense stat. Using this image as an example, this spirit is a Grab type spirit with an attack stat (in orange) of 1584 and a defense stat (in cyan) of 1170 — there's no grab stat. As I said above the types (mostly) don't do anything other than the type advantages, which is already described on the page. Stats are have more going on, so they get their own sections. --CanvasK (talk) 14:23, October 4, 2020 (EDT)
Recent trivia[edit]
Several edits you have been making regarding trivia is adding fluff and the obvious. For example, there's no need to state that Sothis giving Byleth the Smash invitation was not present in Three Houses since it's obvious the Smash letter is not in the game. Also, there's no reason to state that other fighters do not use their in-game model in their trailer splash screen right after the trivia point where the same thing was stated. CookiesCreme 12:56, November 29, 2020 (EST)
- That was an accident. I'm starting to think I'm not welcome here, because you likely dislike me... 0_0 SafariKid2 (talk) 13:59, November 29, 2020 (EST)
Bumping this again. Fire Emblem being a second-party series has nothing to do with the trivia. Plus, there's no need to add every single splash screen art to Terry's trivia. CookiesCreme 16:47, February 27, 2021 (EST)
Listen to the above, this is your official final warning regarding this matter. Omega Tyrant 16:54, February 27, 2021 (EST)
Uh, first-party and second-party series are technically not the same thing, and I wasn't trying to have that point be overkill. But how about instead I put in: "while everyone else's doesn't."? SafariKid2 (talk) 14:30, February 28, 2021 (EST)
Fighter Pass 2[edit]
You can look at any page selling the fighter pass 2 and see that it is still going to be 6 challenger packs. such as https://smashbros.nintendo.com/buy/dlc/ here. They did not decide silently to cancel one of the packs. You can also see on the website there are still going to be 6 stages. https://www.smashbros.com/en_US/stage/index.html Gagesango (talk) 12:11, February 19, 2021 (EST)
- So, it'll have six stages and seven fighters? 🤨 SafariKid2 (talk) 12:12, February 19, 2021 (EST)
- It's 6 stages and 6 slots on the character select screen. Pyra and mythra count as 2 different characters but will take up the same slot just like pokemon trainer. Gagesango (talk) 12:14, February 19, 2021 (EST)
- But that means Pyra and Mythra are one fighter with two numbers. T_T SafariKid2 (talk) 12:16, February 19, 2021 (EST)
- Two fighters, two numbers. One challenger pack, one character slot. Nothing has been canceled. Please stop overcomplicating this. Anything more and this'll be a genuine SW:WAR. Sincerely, Samuel the Banjo-Kazooie Boss. 12:17, February 19, 2021 (EST)
- In that case, to end the conversation, then there's two differently-numbered fighters in one challenger pack, both taking up the same slot. Also, I'm not trying to "overcomplicate" anything, and I'm not trying to start a "genuine SW:WAR," either. End of discussion. SafariKid2 (talk) 12:20, February 19, 2021 (EST)

No, you don't get to call the shots to when the discussion ends. It ends when it ends. Furthermore, what you added is just speculation. We have no way of knowing what the other 2 passes will have, and continuously undoing and readding your edits is edit warring. The simplest answer is to leave it be until we get more information. CookiesCreme 12:34, February 19, 2021 (EST)
- No, you. (Sorry) All jokes aside, though, I'll just leave this wiki so I don't keep (kinda) getting on most of you guys' nerves. Plus, I was trying not to "add speculation" or "edit war," either. SafariKid2 (talk) 12:40, February 19, 2021 (EST)
- I'm sorry that your experience editing here has not been the greatest. There is no need to leave. You just need to pay more attention to reason, and the attempts of other editors to straighten you out. Regardless of whether you were "trying" to do that stuff, what matters is that you did, despite our trying to tell you how to not. - Alright, fine. I'll just wait until Pyra and Mythra are released to find out if they'll be two separate, different-numbered fighters in the same slot in Challenger Pack 9. SafariKid2 (talk) 12:51, February 19, 2021 (EST)
- Given the fact that they take up the same page on the website, like the Pokémon Trainer and Mii Fighters, I see no reason why this will be any different. Aidan, the Lovely Rurouni 13:39, February 19, 2021 (EST)
- .... Me neither, I guess. Though moving on, I think there could be a potential Vitamin Connection Spirit Board event, since that game is (only) on Nintendo Switch and will become a year old by tomorrow. SafariKid2 (talk) 15:33, February 19, 2021 (EST)

Today's Vitamin Connection's first anniversary, but I don't think there really is a Spirit Board event based on that game, despite it only being on Switch like Ultimate is. SafariKid2 (talk) 18:11, February 20, 2021 (EST)

- Talk pages aren't a discussion forum. Talk pages are for discussing edits and information regarding the page itself; user talk pages are for contacting different users about things that pertain to them (for example, I, a crat, can get contacted about making administrative decisions and changing peoples' usernames). Welp.[edit]
My apologies for using improper use of talk pages, but I needed to leave the Smash Wiki's Discord server if Omega Tyrant's not gonna let me talk there. T_T SafariKid2 (talk) 12:15, February 26, 2021 (EST)
- At least the launch trailer for Bravely Default II I posted in that server's #general chat is still there, though. SafariKid2 (talk) 12:19, February 26, 2021 (EST)
- If you want to keep being annoying about being "ignored" and talk back to an admin like that when they tell you to stop, you will lose the ability to post in the discord channel for the rest of the day. It was going to be just a day silence, but since you sent me a message telling me off, left the discord server before I could respond, and are now dragging it onto the wiki, you can take a week ban from the discord. If you insist on continuing to instigate discord matters on the wiki and misuse your talk page like this, you'll be heading to a block here too, so I would advise you to quell the whining and listen when an admin tells you to stop your disruptive behavior.
- Also by the way, regarding your message, Awesomelink234 was referring to you. Omega Tyrant 12:59, February 26, 2021 (EST)
- Uh... Whoops? 😳 So that would mean I could've instead muted the server during the day silence instead of just leaving.
- Not to mention all my messages from the last 24 hours are likely gone from the server. SafariKid2 (talk) 15:19, February 26, 2021 (EST)
Your edits[edit]
- [1] - The trivia already states Terry is the "only newcomer" that fulfills that trivia bit, which is already essentially stating "everyone else doesn't", you're just adding redundant bloat here.
- [2] - We have no rules against using the same word twice in a single entry, and it's not like "ones" is a specific shorthand for "series" nor is it some grammatical snafu, you're just seeming desperate here to make an edit of yours stick.
I suppose you're not directly violating a policy here as these are your first reverts on your edits, but still stop trying to force blatantly faulty edits through. Now since these edits clearly shouldn't stick, I'm going to revert them again (if someone else doesn't beat me to it first), and you are not to add them back in. Omega Tyrant 14:56, February 28, 2021 (EST)
- This isn't the first time, actually. He's added the Terry thing before. CookiesCreme 15:08, February 28, 2021 (EST)
- Fine, I'll stop making edits on any page here. T_T SafariKid2 (talk) 15:11, February 28, 2021 (EST)
With this knowledge that you have tried making that Terry edit before, that you essentially just did so again with slightly different wording after you were reverted twice + warned, and this snarky edit summary towards me here, I'm going to give you a three day block here. When your block is up, make a better effort towards being a constructive contributor, and listen when people tell you that something you're doing is faulty or disruptive, especially when it's from an admin. Omega Tyrant 15:17, February 28, 2021 (EST)
- Then just block me. I won't make anymore edits even after it's up. SafariKid2 (talk) 15:19, February 28, 2021 (EST)

No, it isn't out yet in other regions. What Thegameandwatch meant by time zones is that it may read as March 4th or March 5th based on your timezone. My timezone is EST and people are assuming the DLC will be available March 4th 9 PM EST (Whether that is the actual time I'm not 100%). For someone in the UK it would be March 5th 2 AM GMT. Therefore coming out tomorrow for them but today for me, but we can still download it at the same moment. --CanvasK (talk) 18:40, March 4, 2021 (EST)
- Then I guess it's already out here in the United States, despite what someone on Discord told me. SafariKid2 (talk) 18:48, March 4, 2021 (EST)
- Still not out according to me spamming the update button. Assuming it will be available at 9 PM EST, it will be another 2 hours. --CanvasK (talk) 18:51, March 4, 2021 (EST)
- So it appears that they've released in some regions that have March 4 as their release date (possibly including the United States). SafariKid2 (talk) 21:29, March 4, 2021 (EST)

SW:1RV, again[edit]
Look I don't want to keep warning you about edit warring, but if you really disagree with a reversion bring it to the talk page.
As for the edit, your trivia point talks about the characters themselves, not the stage. Honestly despite what I suggested it shouldn't be on the spirit page either. CookiesCreme 18:53, March 9, 2021 (EST)
- Again, I'm trying not to edit war. But if it shan't be in the on the spirit page, where should it be? Maybe I should just keep it to myself? SafariKid2 (talk) 19:04, March 9, 2021 (EST)
- It's shouldn't be anywhere. The trivia boils down to a character having a spirit, which is not trivia. CookiesCreme 19:08, March 9, 2021 (EST)

You appear to be doing double reverts as a means to leave comments on a revert, which is still reverting a revert and is still edit warring. As for the edit in question, putting "(censored)" comes off as passive aggressive or at least negative about the idea and is overall unprofessional. On top of that Brighid being censored is already mentioned in the trivia of Cloud Sea of Alrest. --CanvasK (talk) 15:25, April 10, 2021 (EDT)
- As usual, I'm trying my best not to "edit war," at all, but I guess it's OK for Brighid being censored to only be mentioned once in the entire wiki? SafariKid2 (talk) 15:53, April 10, 2021 (EDT)
- I recommend reading the policy linked above in the section title or my comment. If you have a dispute about someone's revert, then bring it up on the page's or that user's talk page. And yes, it is okay to mention her censorship only once because it only needs once. Pyra's censorship is mentioned only twice and she is a full playable character; Brighid is merely a background character. --CanvasK (talk) 16:09, April 10, 2021 (EDT)
Italics[edit]
You don't seem to understand how italics work, so let me explain: Italics are supposed to give a piece of text a tilted appearance, and are often used for titles of pieces of media, such as books, movies, shows, video games, etc. (Not sure why exactly, I just know that's how you're supposed to format them)
Because hidden text is not supposed to be seen by editors, italic text (as well as bold text) serves absolutely no purpose at all when used in hidden text and thus gives the page a few extra unnecessary bytes. The Jacketed Terrapin 19:48, July 25, 2021 (EDT)
