Excuse me?
Is it not a bit of an abuse of power to completely protect a page and refuse to let anyone discuss it just because you don't think it should be dealt with right now? Admins should not have the power to refuse to allow users to have discussions, even temporarily. If certain members of the community want to deal with Vergeben, they should be able to. Obviously the vast majority will not respond until more pressing matters have been dealt with, but that's their choice.
Also, protecting the page was completely uncalled for and now makes it impossible to update several sections that are relevant to this announcement. TheNuttyOne 13:13, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- It's for 3 days, chill. SerpentKing 13:14, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- That doesn't answer any of my concerns. The amount of time an abuse of power is in place does not make it an abuse of power. I would like to hear an explanation for how your actions correspond to the wiki's policies. TheNuttyOne 13:17, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- I gave my reasons for protecting in my summary, that's all there is. I don't want a discussion like that getting lost underneath the mess a new release will get. SerpentKing 13:20, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- I completely agree. However, using your admin powers to forcibly prevent it from happening is abuse. In fact, it is very specifically listed as something you are not allowed to use your powers for: "Administrators should not use their administrator powers to settle editing disputes; for example, to lock a page on a version he or she prefers in an editing dispute that isn't vandalism." TheNuttyOne 13:42, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- Technically there's no edit dispute here, and especially not one I am involved in. I reverted one time to prevent lost info (as it was to be moved to leaks) and that's it. SerpentKing 13:45, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- But you also protected the page. The reversion was, I suppose, technically fine, although the edit summary was phrased a bit too authoritatively for my taste. Protecting the page when there was no edit war nor vandalism is unjustifiable. TheNuttyOne 13:47, June 11, 2019 (EDT)

(Reset indent) The whole Vergeben fiasco is one that many, many people argue about - we don't really want those people to be fighting over here (and, to be quite frank, I'll owe up to the fact that we've done kind of a shitty job at preventing that). For now, the page will be locked so that we can gather all of the information without any biases. Aidan, the Rurouni 13:50, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- So you're preventing normal users from participating in the gathering of information because you do not trust them to handle editing, so only admins should be allowed to.
- Yup. Sounds like abuse. TheNuttyOne 13:51, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- Admins will not be editing them either. SerpentKing 13:52, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- ...so we're literally just postponing new information on a fairly popular page out of fear that someone might start an edit war? I'll admit that's not as directly abuse, but I'd still argue it's dumb. TheNuttyOne 13:55, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- Correct me if I am wrong, but between the two, "is vergeben a real leak" is the only new thing the direct would add right? That being the case, I don't see the issue. That being said, I've shortened the protection to this time tomorrow. SerpentKing 13:58, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- I'd like to point out that protecting articles when an event occurs which throws its subject into controversy is standard practice on wikis as a whole. It's a preventative measure against masses of emotionally driven edits among other things. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 14:15, June 11, 2019 (EDT)
- Another food for thought: The Vergeben conversation had been going on for a long time, and the section had already been moved around a few times. Protecting it, now for a day, would prevent anyone else from doing that while we try to update the wiki with the new information.
- Also, as far as I know the talk pages aren't blocked. so the Vergeben discussion, or any leaks/rumors as a whole, can still go on. CookiesCreme 14:22, June 11, 2019 (EDT)

Fighting Mii Team split
Hi, sorry for bothering you again for moving another page where a redirect already exists (since a crat has to do it), but could you please move the Fighting Mii Team Page? With 6 people voicing support and absolutely no mention of opposition, I think the page could be moved now. Lou Cena (talk) 01:13, June 16, 2019 (EDT)
- Here’s AwesomeLink’s draft for you to move. Lou Cena (talk) 01:39, June 16, 2019 (EDT)
Explanation of my edit
My apologies if you mistook my edit to the admin noticeboard talk page and its archive as vandalism, what I intended on doing is since it was only 15 KB, it didn't need to be archived, and thus I put all that stuff back in the main talk page. I remember you did something similar when I archived the admin noticeboard one time. Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Gamer Leave a message if needed 19:26, June 16, 2019 (EDT)
- I realize what was going on now, didn't realize I was dealing with the talk page at first. Still though, no harm in leaving it archived. SerpentKing 19:27, June 16, 2019 (EDT)
Stage Images
I was wondering for awhile what kind of pictures are suppose to be in the a stage's gallery? I am under the impression that it is suppose to be pictures that showcase the stage, whether or not it's just close ups on certain parts of it. I ask because numerous pages (especially Skyloft) seem to have numerous photos that appaer to showcase the characters on it rather than of the stage itself. In meany cases, some are just different characters in the same location (like Luigi's Mansion). I feel it makes the stage galleries bloated with pictures that are not really necessary. What kind of pictures are appropriate for a stage's gallery, and which are not? Thank you. Wolff (talk) 01:57, June 18, 2019 (EDT)
- Sorry for late response. Yes, stage galleries are to show off the stage. They should contain images of stage mechanics and maybe specific parts (perhaps something that can't be easily seen in a full shot of the stage). They are not to contain literally every image on this site featuring the stage. SerpentKing 15:11, June 19, 2019 (EDT)
- So which ones should stay? Ones they show more of the stage then they do character, and clearer close ups? And especially not ones where it is hard to see the stage behind the characters? I am probably not the best person to confidently decide which are really relevant and which are just causing unnecessary bloat. Wolff (talk) 16:58, June 19, 2019 (EDT)

Hey man, it's been a while.
I'd like to request all of my subpages except my infobox be deleted. I'm inactive now and have a lot of regrets about my immaturity, edit warring, self-obsession, informalities, ineptitude etc., and I'd just like to move on without feeling secondhand embarrassment from my own pages. Thank you. Ganonmew, The Evil Clone 20:46, July 9, 2019 (EDT)
- Will that include your CSS and JS as well? SerpentKing 12:51, July 10, 2019 (EDT)

Permission to recreate the Move List page
It was deleted back in March, but Template:SSBUMenus has a bunch of redlinks that have to be fixed, one of which was the aforementioned Move List page. I was going to start off with Move List, since most of the other redlinks are online things I don’t know about, but since you were the one who deleted it, I figured I should ask permission before recreating it. Lou Cena (talk) 04:32, July 15, 2019 (EDT)
- I'm not overly sure why I deleted that to be completely honest (maybe I thought it was going to be a complete list of special moves for the wiki which we have no use for). It should be created, but there is no need to copy all the game text verbatim. A brief description, screenshot, any errors in the list, and trivia should do. SerpentKing 15:18, July 15, 2019 (EDT)
Care to explain yourself?
First, before you block my IP due to "Memoryman sock nonsense", my internet makes a new IP everytime I turn it on, I don't even have a VPN installed to achieve this. If you really want to know who I am, I'm the other person who got upset at Zakawer2 a few months ago and then apologised. This site is so paranoid about memoryman that just even one person that SLIGHLTY resembles him is accused of being him. Pathetic. You can block me all you want, I don't intend on doing any edits on any articles anyway. Good-bye. --93.108.115.167 15:31, August 9, 2019 (EDT)

Small caps template doesn't work
Hey, I'm relatively new to the wiki. I was trying to put my signature into small caps, however they don't appear that way, and I get a SUBST before the small caps, as you can see in my signature. Do you know if I'm doing something wrong or is it just that the wiki doesn't allow for small caps? This is how I was writing it, in case I was doing it wrong: {{smallcaps|<test>}} {{SUBST::smallcaps|Monokuro}} [talk | contribs] 21:36, January 9, 2020 (EST)

Yo SK (never saying that again) I've been thinking of trying out a new name that sounds more creative and somewhat EarthBound-ish, and less cheesy and like something a 12 year old would make (I actually made the name when I was 12...)

Sorry about that. It's just that i cannot even explain myself. Besides, i'm a subsceptible guy, and i thought that he was attacking me because of my opinion. The truth is that i'm very serious when telling something, and i don't want to be bashed only because i tell something. Do you have any idea of how much is unnerving that anyone won't let me say what i think of something? Just because i joined recently doesn't mean i have to receive such a treatment. I also have thought that no one understood what i really meant to say and that everyone take a few parts of an edit a bit too seriously. General question
So in terms of spam accounts like today's IP, next time should I leave their spam comments until after they're blocked, or deal with them as I did today? (new section added)
I was wondering if it was possible to change your username, and if possible, how to do it. Gamer600000 (talk) 18:29, April 11, 2020 (EDT)
- Not SK but a few things:
- 1. Put your signiture after your comments not before.
- 2. When starting a new topic use a ==header== at the top of the section.
- 3. As per SW:NAME you need to tell the bcrat the name you would like to use, then they will ask for a confirmation after a few days. OmegαToαd the Toαd Wαrrior (BUP) 18:34, April 11, 2020 (EDT)

Some admin tips
Starting an RFA is something I've thought of doing in the near future, but first I was wondering if there's anything you feel I need to work on before starting. I know your good at judging if a candidate is ready so that's why I came to you. I understand being a sysop can be frustrating, however I am patient and try to keep things as calm as possible. While I am confident that I can handle decision making, teamwork, policy enforcement and blocking, one important factor I feel I need to work on before starting is conflict moderation. I haven't been in any big conflicts, however after asking Flare for tips I do believe I'm almost there. But when I first joined there were times I handled things poorly, for instance I have made a mistake when I first joined by not thoroughly reading all of the policies, and have been guilty of breaking SW:AGF, and almost but not fully SW:BTALK and SW:NPA. Now I familiarized myself with them and have been careful to follow all of the policies. But still things slip as I realized I should've known better to ignore that spam account since I probably did exactly what they wanted me to do.
Still I believe I have done better at handling disbutes. If this counts as an example I'll give the one on the P+ forum where you and Alex were going back and forth, yet it stopped once I stepped in and pointed out the policies and the faults in Alex's arguments. So in conclusion all I'd like to know is how I'm doing so far and anywhere I should improve on before starting. I usually don't like asking for feedback not because I'm afraid of getting bad feedback, rather I don't want to seem like I'm trying to make myself look good like "Give me feedback and tell me how good I am", I'm more than willing to accept criticism because that's how you learn. I'm not starting anytime soon but maybe in a few months, so until then I'm willing to listen to any advice I need before starting an RFA. OmegαToαd the Toαd Wαrrior (BUP) 07:57, April 12, 2020 (EDT)
No one is going to hold what you did when you were new against you unless you really screwed up. As for tips, uh...I would make sure that you have a decent amount of conflict moderation under your belt first. It's the thing that shoots down around 80% of the "legitimately had a chance" RfAs. Given that you've admitted yourself that you don't really have any experience in this regard, I would hold off until you do. SerpentKing 08:25, April 12, 2020 (EDT)
- Understood, thanks for your time. I had a feeling that was one thing I was missing if I intended to start a request. I'll make sure I've handled several disbutes before trying. Anyway besides dispute handling are there any other "red flags" or things that may potentially shoot down my RFA once I do start one after I have shown I can handle disbutes? NIWA
Correct me if I'm wrong (and yes I'm starting my introduction like this so you can't play victim card), but I'm believing that you care more about NIWA than individual wiki communities. NIWA is just a conglomerate organization for independent Nintendo wikis. The individual wiki communities, however, are what wikis are all about: a good and fair editing experience. I am over the Zelda Wiki conflict, mind you, but I'm handing out free red pills to everyone to show that any decision NIWA makes is based on upholding their reputation and doing things in a way that doesn't upset anyone rather than doing something because it's at the better interest of the overall community. Now is a time I go about this in a more formal way and being less smug. I have been known to switch between formality and immaturity when desired, the latter is to mostly address and annoy personalities I dislike.
There was some guy who talked to me. He told me that NIWA has evolved to accept "diversity", let they be from Fandom, Bulbagarden, ShoutWiki, or whatever. I'm proud of him because at least he's upfront and honest about what NIWA is now rather than pretending that wikis that are corporate are independent in an act of elitism. Maybe change your manifesto to reflect that.
The thing with wiki skins that I find shockingly frightening is that this "diversity" of wikis feels oddly parallel to racial diversity. Now, to be fair, this is only a thing I've noticed, but I remember people thinking I was a big when all I wanted was Super Mario Wiki and Monobook style out there. People would say that this is being fascist. How did political correctness ever play a part in wikis, I ask? Now wikis or not, I don't care one bit about political correctness; it's a hodgepodge of arbitrary rules that overcomplicate and set double standards between things. If we hate FANDOM so much and their virtue signaling social justice messages, then we should oppose that as well. I am aware NIWA (at least Bulbapedia) and Fandom have a similar agenda, so that probably explains it. Yes, politics do not belong in wikis, but that doesn't mean I won't say that this year, I have finalized myself as conservative (which possibly contributes to my dislike for all these messages, decisions, etc. going around).
I didn't get this far with wikis by taking easy way out or cheating my way to power; no, I have put a lot of hard work into over 10 wikis by now, have helped others leave FANDOM, and created at least 5 wikis that I still actively maintain to this day. Wikis would not be where they are today were it not for me, heck, even parts of NIWA (for example, WiKirby and Lylat Wiki). I have had mental strain, frequent anxiety attacks, and temper because I've overdid the wikis, especially when I finished the DK Wiki merge in 2019. You have frequently shown to be a fan of law & order, regardless whether it's right or wrong. That is not real strength, that's just a way to maintain your reputation. Any person can try and play it safe like that so they keep their reputation shiny. I deliberately blew my whole reputation just so that there could be a fair counterpart to Zelda, especially because I didn't want a FANDOM-owned wiki to feel entitled to being the only Zelda Wiki on the web. There is absolutely no way that when I made that insanely embarrassing mistake with Zeldapedia, that I thought that I was doing the easy thing. I stand strong with NIWA's core beliefs but in a slightly opposite way. When I started Triforce Wiki, I did it against all odds, regardless of what individuals like you would think of me. By the way, I'm not the only rep of Triforce -- I made someone else a rep so that my name doesn't stain the wiki. Throughout the months, several people in NIWA have been left very embarrassed because I'd expose mistakes they had made, and elitists do not like to admit there's mistakes or fault, hence "defense mode". My formal side is strict on ethics and how people treat each other on the servers and on the wiki. Atheist or religious, one can see that I base it upon Christian values, which there is not enough of in this world. Basically it's like: "if you don't want someone to do it to you, then don't do it back". Do not twist this to me being a hypocrite because all humans make mistakes & we forgive and forget. At the bottom, you'll see a list of mistakes I made below.
Granted, people arbitrarily decided to be on board with my projects, and in one case, I've stepped down from power (that is, with Arthur Wiki) because I only forked it to help someone off (and we the community discussed & agreed but i had no part in discussion -- that was the person who was hosting, not to try and maintain power over several wikis where it's not needed. This is yet another thing to show that I don't do what FANDOM does.
You are well aware that I'm a Monobook diehard, hence my "conservative" nature about classic wiki look. That's why WiKirby changed to Monobook. ;) Also I am serious that I don't care that I was demoted from WiKirby because I don't like the Kirby franchise that much anyway (except for like maybe 2-3 games). It was just honorary. Star Fox, on the other hand, I love how it's patriotic like the US Air Force, however it's mostly just a rail shooter I'd quickly play, so I wouldn't need to maintain that wiki either.
Here are a list of mistakes I've made, which should show that deep down (even though I got issues), I'm definitely not extremely arrogant and unable to see my own mistakes:
- May 2019 - tried to disrupt the Zeldapedia merger
- May 2019 - went on a swear-infested rant on your talk page
- May-November 2019 - an event I like to call "Lylat Wiki Wars"
- November 2019 - zeldapedia.com & swearing at porple
- 2019-2020? (can't remember) - Arguing with Glowsquid, the Super Mario Wiki bureaucrat about irrelevant stuff
- April 2020 - interfering with Disaster Flare's request for bureaucracy (or at least other interpreted it like that) because it was 1am and I was over-paranoid that he would attempt a takeover of wikis
- June 2020 - someone on SEIWA was rude to me, so I reciprocated it 5x worse with really bad language
I guess what could also be considered a mistake is when I frequently bash things like anime, Smash Bros., Final Fantasy, Zelda; some are for irony and trolling, and other times it's legitimate. Most of the time it's an exaggeration because for so long, the Mario and Rareware games were the only things I've played, so this would reflect the discomfort of branching out.
Anyway, that's all I got to say. I will be keeping a copy of this message on my end & hand it out to others, so in case this message is redacted, I will still have a copy of it on my end. Bye now, Conker the Squirrel (talk) 20:28, June 15, 2020 (EDT)
Changing names up, I guess.
I'd be so mindful if I were to be renamed to PanchamBro, the name I use for on multiple social media accounts. -- Scorbunny (talk • contributions) 21:11, June 25, 2020 (EDT)
- As per SW:NAMECHANGE write back here in a few days to confirm. Thanks and have a great day! Serpent King 21:00, June 26, 2020 (EDT)

Konami, Capcom, and Namco Chronicle sandboxes
Those weren't the ones I requested to be deleted.
It's the "Fixing the Chronicle" draft I requested. SuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle Tribe 19:15, June 28, 2020 (EDT)
