About my block.
I realized that the block was necisary, as I had very inappropriate behavior. I hope the wiki is doing well these days.174.55.241.143 13:08, 20 April 2016 (EDT)

User:Penro/WelcomeIP
I created a template to convice IPs to make an account, similar to our current welcome template. Do you think it's good enough, and if so, can we implement it as a template? If not, what do you think should be changed? Penro 20:42, 25 April 2016 (EDT)
- Could be worth making, yeah. Put it to a vote maybe. Serpent King 08:35, 26 April 2016 (EDT)
- K, thanks! But what will we have a vote for? If it should exist at all, or if it's good enough to be a template? Penro 23:05, 27 April 2016 (EDT)

Kill Percents, worth mentioning?
I have noticed that for most characters, the percent at which their attacks kill is not mentioned. I'm referring primarily to the smash attacks and special moves, as well as some aerials. I can take the time to check at what percents these moves will kill (at least for Smash Wii U and Brawl) i'm wondering if its worth the effort. I'd hate to see someone delete my findings afterward. So do you think its something I should start on?Nightgengale (talk) 22:15, 5 May 2016 (EDT)
- The thing with KO percents is that while you can get a general idea of where they are, you'd have to set up the same way each and every time. We actually have an article for forward smashes which has KO percents, but the problem on that article is consistency: We have no idea under what conditions these numbers were taken in some cases. There's also the issue of where to put the statistic... I would suggest in the description of moveset tables on the character pages. Just be sure to be consistent and note exactly how you are doing it (on Mario in the middle of FD is probably best). Serpent King 22:21, 5 May 2016 (EDT)
- We already mention some kill percents on each character's general page. I assume that being able to KO a Mario at position X would warrant mention on the primary page while the specific pages could look at general weight KO percents and position and stuff. MegaTron1 22:24, 5 May 2016 (EDT)
- That could work as well. Serpent King 22:25, 5 May 2016 (EDT)
- Got it. Thanks :)Nightgengale (talk) 22:37, 5 May 2016 (EDT)

Leffen
Let me explain. Yes, it didn't break SW:TRIVIA, and I am sorry for the confusion, but the trivia was way too obivious to be decent trivia. That's sorta like saying,"Mango is the first Smash player to be sponsored by Cloud9", despite it being really obivious. Penro (Talk) 22:09, 6 May 2016 (EDT)
- It's not obvious for people who do not follow the scene as closely as we do, and that of course is why we report on the scene in the first place. Serpent King 22:22, 6 May 2016 (EDT)
"Clearly Consensus Means Nothing"
A 5-1-2 vote doesn't mean consensus, especially if you're gonna get all dramatic about how your majority rule victory makes you the victim. Honestly, someone can correct me if I'm blatantly wrong or outdated, but having a majority rule victory means jackshit in a lot of situations if the debate isn't going your way. PewPewU Fox Main
PewPewU uses Fox more as a main than as a secondary or sandbagging character.
- "He's literally only used Fox vs. Mew2King once, and that was at EVO 2014 (which was almost two years ago). On top of that, that's an incorrect assessment, considering the fact that PewPewU almost always goes solo Marth at nationals."
- Also, if you didn't change your previous signature, I'd have to say that you have to now. You're just throwing out character page links when you could go and do that on your userpage. MegaTron1 21:05, 18 May 2016 (EDT)

Looking for some advice
I have been in this wiki for over a year now, but overall I just feel like I've barely helped contribute here. Whenever I try to keep things up to date in character pages among other stuff, it seems like someone always manages to do the job first. I wanted to personally ask you if there are any ways I can help contribute to this wiki, since I wanna be of use to you guys.
A million apologies if I should've posted this somewhere else, and will make sure to not do it again if that's the case. Thank you for your time. Tahu Mata, The Toa of Fire (talk) 18:14, 1 June 2016 (EST)
- No no not at all, happy to help. There's always the "wanted pages" and "pages to improve" lists on the recent changes list as well as the maintenance bar in the same place. Serpent King 19:22, 1 June 2016 (EDT)

Image Copyrights
Hey, I'm from the Smashpedia and I noticed we use one of this wiki's gifs. I'm assuming they're not but are the images and gifs free to use? If not I will remove it. Thanks. Tibarn (talk) 00:19, 17 June 2016 (EDT)
- Through creative commons and sharealike, content from this wiki can be used elsewhere, so long as credit is given. What is the gif you speak of? Serpent King 00:23, 17 June 2016 (EDT)
I assumed we copied SmashWiki's GIF because our Super Wavedash page was created very recently; however I was incorrect. Our image was uploaded in 2006 where as yours was in 2010. Which means the GIF is under copyright of Smashpedia as far as I know. I apologize for the confusion. Tibarn (talk) 00:16, 23 June 2016 (EDT)
- That may be due to the fact that SmashWiki and Smashpedia used to be one. When the split came, a lot of the articles and files were imported, so there's a lot of images both wikis share to this day. Disaster Flare (talk) 00:40, 23 June 2016 (EDT)
About Template:Infobox Stage
Awhile ago, you helped me edit this template to make it look better + add a few things (which, I haven't even bothered adding these parameters to any articles anyway). Regardless, my main concern is in the tournament legality section. While it looks much better than it did before, the header for it appears even when it isn't applicable. An example would be on TEST. I am very novice at wikicode, so I was hoping you could do something about it if it's not too much to ask. RobSir zx 04:08, 18 June 2016 (EDT)

My edits
I'll try and limit myself to sections from here on out. But I'm gonna have to call horseshit on the part about my grammar when there's the likes of BeepYou making worthwhile contributions that are still somehow marred by grammatical mistakes that even grade school kids would avoid. With that being said, if you have any certain grammatical tips that you think would be beneficial, such as what you used for Robin's page, then by all means run them by me. 173.171.56.222 04:07, 30 June 2016 (EDT)
- First of all, run edits through spellcheck first. It won't catch everything, but it'll cut down on mistakes. Second, read your sentence out loud. If it sounds awkward, it needs rewritten. Third, formatting shit: ''[[Game title|title]]'' is preferred over [[Game title|''title'']] for instance. Serpent King 16:52, 30 June 2016 (EDT)
- I already do the first two. But if you're up to it, run those by BeepYou if you haven't already, since he makes good contributions that are marred by wonky grammar. However, I'll take the third tip into account. 173.171.56.222 18:15, 6 July 2016 (EDT)

Hey
Once notable always notable, using your logic, delete Recipherus due to being inactive plus Mew2King in both crews, yeah they were notable Poultry(talk) the God-Slayer 21:06, 11 July 2016 (EDT)
- Imo, rule does not apply to crews unless they are highly notable. Also one good player simply being in a crew does not automatically make it notable. Serpent King 21:14, 11 July 2016 (EDT)
- Agreed. We ended up deleting a lot of crew articles for this reason. Disaster Flare (talk) 21:15, 11 July 2016 (EDT)
- vVv had ESAM, Mew2King and ZeRo, while F-Step had Rich Brown, MacD, Zex, K9sbruce, Xzax, Mew2King, and more. How can you say that having some of the BEST Brawl players of ALL TIME does not make you notable, really all the crews we deleted were old crews made 08 or something like that Poultry(talk) the God-Slayer 21:31, 11 July 2016 (EDT)
- seems to me that if a crew were that notable, the page should have already been there. I don't see a point in making a page on a crew that doesn't exist anymore. Serpent King 21:36, 11 July 2016 (EDT)
- Using your logic, since the dinosaurs don't exist anymore, the wikipedia page of them should be deleted, pages of deceased people shouldn't exist too, plus, they were defunct before the wiki became really active, so there's that too. Poultry(talk) the God-Slayer 21:43, 11 July 2016 (EDT)
- Aight, first off, we're not Wikipedia. Second, Crews are not living things, so your argument is invalid. Third, he just said they must've not been that notable if they didn't already have their articles created. Just because they have a few notable players in them is not grounds for an article, otherwise the wiki would be bloated with crew articles. Disaster Flare (talk) 21:47, 11 July 2016 (EDT)

About this
I don't think we should be making exceptions when it comes to a trivia point's relevancy to Smash. The fact might be interesting, but it doesn't belong on Smashwiki. Allowing it to stay sets a precedent for allowing all sorts of interesting but non-Smash related trivia to be added to pages. At most, I would only be okay with that kind of trivia being mentioned in the beginning of the article, like how the SSB4 character articles sometimes mention that the announcement of a character coincided with a significant date in the history of their series. John PK SMAAAASH!! 23:19, 13 July 2016 (EDT)
- I see your point. Alright the point can go. I just thought it was interesting enough to stay, even if it isn't strictly related to Smash Serpent King 23:49, 13 July 2016 (EDT)
- Why can't we have a point that's not relevant now and then? And the GameCube had Melee on it so it's... a little relevant Kirby's Crazy Appetite ~ 23:53, 13 July 2016 (EDT)
