The stage choice could be a reference to how ARMS is a boxing game. The ropes on the ring can be used as trampolines similar to the Springs in Spring Stadium.

The music choice is Dragon Driftway from Mario Kart 8, which uses a similar Chinese motif as Min Min's stage in ARMS.
