Her basic move set is the same as Peach's, but this princess has her own unique personality. She's known for being upbeat, energetic, and a bit of a tomboy.

Daisy (デイジー, Daisy) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. She was revealed as a newcomer alongside Inkling and Ridley from Nintendo's 2018 E3 press conference, on June 12th, 2018. She is an Echo Fighter of Peach. Deanna Mustard's portrayals of Daisy in the Mario games were repurposed for Ultimate.

Some gameplay changes have been confirmed [1] , but they are currently unknown.

Aesthetics

  • Change As with all echo fighters, Daisy has different taunts and victory animations
  • Change A few other animations, such as the entrance, and the defeated/No Contest animation are different.
  • Change Daisy only has 3 unique idle animations, compared to Peach's 4.
  • Change Daisy has a more energetic idle stance, with her arms held up by her side.
  • Change Daisy uses a Blue Toad instead of a red one for her counter and throws.
  • Change Daisy has flower and petal effects for her attacks, including her dash attack and back aerial, instead of hearts.
  • Change Daisy has different, more cheerful facial expressions for many attacks and actions.
  • Change Daisy has a different running animation similar to the Mario Party series.
  • Change Daisy's Final Smash is similar to Peach's Final Smash, except that it summons edible daisies instead of peaches, and is themed around herself.
  • Change Daisy is visibly (but only slightly) shorter than Peach. Whether this has any impact on her hitboxes compared to Peach is currently unknown.

Role in World of Light

Daisy was absent in the World of Light trailer, though she presumably became a spirit alongside the rest of the galaxy (excluding Kirby) when Galeem unleashed its beams of light.

Trivia

  • As an Echo Fighter of Peach, Daisy utilizes several abilities that she previously hadn't in the Mario series, such as: Floating, the use of a frying pan, and putting people to sleep.
  • Many of Daisy's animations and artwork reference the Mario series:
  • Daisy was the second newcomer announced for Ultimate. This marks only the second time a new clone character for a Smash title had been announced before the game launched, with the first being Lucina in SSB4.
  • Daisy is one of only two newcomers and the only Echo Fighter introduced in Ultimate to not have splash art and an introduction tagline, the other being Inkling.
  • Daisy is the only Ultimate newcomer revealed during E3 to not be playable in the E3 demo.
  • Daisy is the only Echo Fighter to be featured on the full version of the box art.
  • Daisy and Dark Samus are the only echo fighters to be cloned from female characters.
  • Daisy was the first character to be shown on the new victory screen.
