Daisy (デイジー, Daisy) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. She was revealed as a newcomer alongside Inkling and Ridley from Nintendo's 2018 E3 press conference, on June 12th, 2018. She is an Echo Fighter of Peach. Deanna Mustard's portrayals of Daisy in the Mario games were repurposed for Ultimate.
Differences from Peach
Some gameplay changes have been confirmed [1] , but they are currently unknown.
Aesthetics
- As with all echo fighters, Daisy has different taunts and victory animations
- A few other animations, such as the entrance, and the defeated/No Contest animation are different.
- Daisy only has 3 unique idle animations, compared to Peach's 4.
- Daisy has a more energetic idle stance, with her arms held up by her side.
- Daisy uses a Blue Toad instead of a red one for her counter and throws.
- Daisy has flower and petal effects for her attacks, including her dash attack and back aerial, instead of hearts.
- Daisy has different, more cheerful facial expressions for many attacks and actions.
- Daisy has a different running animation similar to the Mario Party series.
- Daisy's Final Smash is similar to Peach's Final Smash, except that it summons edible daisies instead of peaches, and is themed around herself.
- Daisy is visibly (but only slightly) shorter than Peach. Whether this has any impact on her hitboxes compared to Peach is currently unknown.
Role in World of Light
Daisy was absent in the World of Light trailer, though she presumably became a spirit alongside the rest of the galaxy (excluding Kirby) when Galeem unleashed its beams of light.

Trivia
- As an Echo Fighter of Peach, Daisy utilizes several abilities that she previously hadn't in the Mario series, such as: Floating, the use of a frying pan, and putting people to sleep.
- Despite utilizing a Toad in her neutral special move, grabs, and throws, Daisy doesn't really have an affiliation with them in the Mario games. However, In Mario Strikers Charged Daisy uses a Blue Toad sidekick, like in Ultimate.
- Many of Daisy's animations and artwork reference the Mario series:
- One of Daisy's victory animations is reminiscent to her victory animation from Mario Golf: World Tour, while another references her victory celebration in Mario Tennis Aces.
- Daisy's running animation references the Mario Party (series).
- Daisy's pose in her official artwork resembles a piece of artwork from Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64, only mirrored.
- Daisy's pose for one of her taunts matches promotional artwork of her first used for Mario Kart 7.
- Daisy's pose in the group artwork for Ultimate is based on her back throw animation.
- Daisy was the second newcomer announced for Ultimate. This marks only the second time a new clone character for a Smash title had been announced before the game launched, with the first being Lucina in SSB4.
- Daisy is one of only two newcomers and the only Echo Fighter introduced in Ultimate to not have splash art and an introduction tagline, the other being Inkling.
- Daisy is the only Ultimate newcomer revealed during E3 to not be playable in the E3 demo.
- Daisy is the only Echo Fighter to be featured on the full version of the box art.
- Daisy and Dark Samus are the only echo fighters to be cloned from female characters.
- Daisy was the first character to be shown on the new victory screen.
