Her basic move set is the same as Peach's, but this princess has her own unique personality. She's known for being upbeat, energetic, and a bit of a tomboy.

Daisy (デイジー, Daisy) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. She was revealed as a newcomer alongside Inkling and Ridley from Nintendo's 2018 E3 press conference, on June 12th, 2018. She is an Echo Fighter of Peach. Deanna Mustard reprises her role as Daisy's voice using recycled clips from previous Mario games.

Differences from Peach

Aesthetics

  • Change Daisy has different taunts and victory animations. Her entrance is different as well.
  • Change Daisy has a more energetic idle stance, with her arms held up by her side.
  • Change Daisy uses a Blue Toad instead of a red one for her counter and throws.
  • Change Daisy has flower and petal effects for her attacks, including her dash attack, instead of hearts.
  • Change Daisy has different, more cheerful facial expressions for certain attacks.
  • Change Daisy has different running animation similar to Super Mario Party.

Attributes

  • Change Daisy appears to be slightly shorter than Peach, as she is in most Mario series games. This seems to give her a smaller hurtbox while apparently slightly reducing her vertical range.
  • Nerf Daisy's only uses a golf club in her forward smash.

Aerial Attacks

  • Nerf Daisy's forward aerial appears to have a much shorter range than Peach's similar attack.
  • Buff Daisy's back aerial appears to add a flower hitbox that extends the range of the attack.

Special Moves

  • Buff Daisy's variant of Peach Bomber has a faster startup. [1]
  • Buff Daisy pulls Vegetables out of the ground faster.
  • Change Daisy's Parasol is closed during ascent while Peach's is open, its gameplay differences are still unknown.
  • Change Daisy's Final Smash is similar to Peach's Final Smash, except that it summons edible daisies instead of peaches.

Trivia

  • Despite utilizing one in her moveset, Daisy has almost no affiliation with Toads—blue or otherwise—in the Mario games. The only exception is in Mario Super Sluggers, where a red Toad guards her after she was petrified by Bowser Jr.
  • Daisy is the only Ultimate newcomer revealed during E3 to not be playable in the E3 demo.
    • However, she is playable in the updated November build, which features the entire base roster.
  • One of Daisy's victory animations is reminiscent of her celebration animation from Mario Golf: World Tour.
  • Daisy's pose for one of her taunts matches promotional artwork of her first used for Mario Kart 7.
  • Daisy was the second newcomer announced for Ultimate. This marks only the second time a new clone character for a Smash title had been announced before the game launched, with the last time being Lucina in SSB4.
  • Daisy is the first character to be cloned from a female (being Peach), the second being Dark Samus.
  • Daisy is one of only two newcomers introduced in Ultimate to not have splash art and an introduction tagline, the other being Inkling.
    • This makes Daisy the only Echo Fighter with that distinction.
  • Daisy's pose in the group artwork for Ultimate is based upon Peach's back throw animation from SSB4.
  • Daisy was the first character to be shown on the new victory screen.
  • Daisy is the only Echo Fighter to be featured on the full version of the box art.
  • Daisy's pose in her official artwork slightly resembles a piece of artwork from Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64, only mirrored.
