Robin (SSBU)

Robin (ルフレ, Reflet) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He was confirmed as a playable character on June 12th, 2018. As in the previous game, both male and female versions of Robin are playable.

Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4

An icon used in notice templates. NOTE: SmashWiki is not speculative. Please refrain from adding detailed data values derived from pre-release gameplay footage, such as the E3 demo. Such data (damage values, launch trajectories, frame data, etc.) are subject to change before the official release.

Aesthetics

  • Change As with all veterans returning from SSB4, Robin's model features a more subdued color scheme. Their hair is more stylized, and their eyes appear sharper.
  • Change The player can now see how many uses Robin's Levin Sword and each one of their Tomes has, located next to their icon on the HUD.
  • Change The green alternate costume now features Robin with light brunette hair instead of green.

Attributes

  • Buff Universal 3-frame jumpsquat vastly improves Robin’s ground-to-air transitioning, as their previous jumpsquat lasted 7 frames.

Ground attacks

  • Change First two hits of neutral attack have altered animations.

Special Moves

  • Change Elthunder has a dark purple color compared to how it was in SSB4.
  • Change Elwind projectiles are thicker and more opaque.
  • Buff Elwind projectiles are also sent in more diagonal angles, instead of completely downwards. Robin can also choose the angle, letting them go twice in the same direction, improving horizontal recovery and making their recovery less linear.
  • Change Nosferatu is more opaque and has fewer particles, now looking more like a dark whirlpool instead of a cloud of particles.
