Robin (ルフレ, Reflet) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He was confirmed as a playable character on June 12th, 2018. As in the previous game, both male and female versions of Robin are playable.
Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4
Aesthetics
- As with all veterans returning from SSB4, Robin's model features a more subdued color scheme. Their hair is more stylized, and their eyes appear sharper.
- The player can now see how many uses Robin's Levin Sword and each one of their Tomes has, located next to their icon on the HUD.
- The green alternate costume now features Robin with light brunette hair instead of green.
Attributes
- Universal 3-frame jumpsquat vastly improves Robin’s ground-to-air transitioning, as his previous jumpsquat lasted 7 frames.
Ground attacks
- First two hits of neutral attack have altered animations.
Special Moves
- Elthunder has a dark purple color compared to how it was in SSB4.
- Elwind projectiles are thicker and more opaque.
- Elwind projectiles are also sent in more diagonal angles, instead of completely downwards. Robin can also choose the angle, letting him go twice in the same direction, improving horizontal recovery and making his recovery less linear.
- Nosferatu is more opaque and has fewer particles, now looking more like a dark whirlpool instead of a cloud of particles.
