Trivia
- This event could be a reference of the fact that in EarthBound, Ness watched various shows, most notably those of the Runaway Five. The selection of Rockin' K.K. as the musical track for this match may also be a reference to one of two things. It may reference PSI Rockin, the offensive PSI move unique to Ness in EarthBound. Alternatively, it could be a a nod to the fact that both Rockin' K.K. as well as a recurring battle theme in Mother and EarthBound are based on the song Johnny B. Goode.
