The Hammer of the King is the fifteenth Event Match in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In this event, you play as a tiny King Dedede with two other small Dedede's as partners, and you must defeat a giant metal King Dedede. The battlefield is Smashville.
Beating this event unlocks the song King Dedede's Theme. It also plays during the match, which otherwise doesn't happen on Smashville.
Strategy
King Dedede is normally heavy, so being giant and metal makes him very hard to dislodge from the stage. However, if you do, his recovery is hurt by his incredible weight. While the CPU Dededes attack, charge up a forward smash or Jet Hammer. This giant King also stands very close to the edge when the match begins, and a simple pushing attack (like Dedede's forward tilt) or a throw can push him back just enough to allow his huge weight to finish the job. Using this method, the event can be cleared in a matter of seconds!
Hard Mode
This is where it gets really tough. He's more aggresive, and don't forget he can One-hit KO you. This time, the results are more based on luck. Pelt him with Waddle Dees from a distance, and hope your teammates don't get KO'd, they are crucial in this battle. Slowly push him to the edge, until he falls to his doom.
Another way is that at the start of the match, jump onto the moving platform. If you're lucky, the giant metal King Dedede will jump off the edge in order to attack you (This will only happen when he goes for you while the platform is away from the stage). When he goes off the edge, he's as good as dead.
Do NOT forget the throw method, which is effective even on Hard difficulty! If you are quick enough, you can grab him and throw him over the edge before he attacks, resulting in impressive time records when his own weight dispatches him in seconds.
