Don't Park on the Grass 2024 is an ongoing Super Smash Bros. Melee supermajor and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate major held in Seattle, Washington from November 16th-17th, 2024.

Tournament summary

Super Smash Bros. Melee

This event saw a cinderella run from Nicki, who first defeated Jmook 3-2 and, after falling into losers, eliminated Aura 3-1 Swedish Delight 3-2, Axe 3-0, Cody Schwab 3-1, and Zain 3-0, Zain having lost to Aklo's Link 1-3 for the second time within the last two majors. In addition, aMSa lost to Axe 1-3 and SDJ 1-3 for 9th while Joshman defeated both Jmook 3-2 and Hungrybox 3-1, his first win on Hungrybox. As such, this is the first Melee major since Epita Smash Arena 2 in 2008 where there were no major winners in top 4, and the first event since The Big House 10 where a new player won a major.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

This tournament was the North American debut for Rarikkusu and Tora. Both players were ultimately able to place their seeds, though Tora took an early loss to Nanoash in pools.

This event is known for Lui$'s cinderella run to 3rd, marking the best major performance of his career. After losing to KEN 1-3 prior to top 24, he made a six-set losers run, including going to game five for all but two sets he fought in losers. This includes defeating MVD 3-2, Shuton 3-2, and KEN 3-2, before losing to Miya in a tense game 5 set.

Outside of Lui$'s performance, however, the event featured little notable upsets on top players, and as such almost all the top 8 seeds made it into top 8. The sole exceptions were #4 seed Light, who had no plans on attending the event in the first place, and #8 seed Big D, who lost to #24 seed MFA 2-3 (upset factor 4) and #18 seed MVD 0-3 for 17th. The only other major upset in bracket was #42 seed Opsine defeating #12 seed Ouch!? 3-1 (upset factor 4). Conversely, this marked Snow's first North American top 8, after having failed to place higher than 9th at his last four North American events, and MVD's first major top 8 since CEO 2022.

Top 8 featured a rematch between the two best players of the season, Sparg0 and Miya. Sparg0 easily won their set in winner's finals 3-0, and although Miya was able to win the first round of grand finals 3-2, Sparg0 ultimately triumphed over Miya in the reset 3-1 to win the event.
