Yuri Kozukata (不来方夕莉, Yuri Kozukata) is a character from the Fatal Frame series. She is the central protagonist of the fifth game in the series, Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water.
Origin
Yuri is the central protagonist of Maiden of the Black Water, the fifth main entry in the Fatal Frame franchise. She's a 19-year-old teenager who survived a car accident that killed her whole family; because of the accident, she developed a "Sixth Sense." This ability allows her to see ghosts. Throughout the game, she helps the other protagonists in solving strange cases around Mt. Hikami, a notoriously haunted location in the outskirts of Japan. Yuri is led to Mt. Hikami by her sixth sense and travels around the area and back, taking photographs of spirits with her Camera Obscura, a specialized camera that can take photographs and exorcise ghosts. In the good ending, she lifts a curse from the main antagonist of the story, Ouse Kurosawa, and ends up on a warm beach with Hisoka Kurosawa, while in the bad ending, she jumps off a cliff along with Ouse.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Yuri is set to make her Smash Bros. debut as an Assist Trophy in Ultimate. When summoned, she aims her Camera Obscura at fighters and takes a picture; the flash will momentarily stun the fighters, leaving them vulnerable, and give them an effect that continues to damage the fighter, even after she disappears. Fighters under the effect have different expressions on their faces, ranging from fear, anger, and sadness.
She also appears as one of the games collectable Spirits.

Trivia
- In the NA and EU versions of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, Yuri's bikini costume is replaced with a costume based off of Zero Suit Samus.
- Yuri's appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate marks the first time a character from the horror genre appears in some capacity outside of being a Trophy.
- Yuri is the first Assist Trophy from a non-playable universe to hail from a game with a D (17+) rating from the CERO, an M (Mature) rating from the ESRB, and an 18+ rating from PEGI.
- In spite of Maiden of Black Water receiving an English dub, Yuri is only voiced in Japanese in Ultimate.
- This makes her one of two characters to have a known English voice actor yet not be voiced in English in Ultimate, with the other being Cloud Strife.
