Isabelle (しずえ, Shizue) is a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. She was announced as a newcomer at the end of a Nintendo Direct on September 13th, 2018. As they share many similarities, Isabelle appears to be a semi-clone of Villager.

Attributes

NOTE: SmashWiki is not speculative. Please refrain from adding detailed data values derived from pre-release gameplay footage, such as the E3 demo. Such data (damage values, launch trajectories, frame data, etc.) are subject to change before the official release.

• Isabelle's moveset shares some similarities to Villager, such as a move similar to Villager's dash attack, the use of Pocket and grabbing with the Bug net, but many of her moves differ as well, and she is not classified as an Echo Fighter.
  • Isabelle has an up tilt with a broom that swings once instead of Villager's stick swinging twice.
  • Isabelle's forward smash is completely different, having her fire a popper forward instead of dropping a bowling ball.
  • Isabelle's up smash erects a stop sign in front of her.
  • Isabelle's down smash splashes water to her front and back with a bucket. This doesn't bury opponents like Villager's, but in exchange it is capable of actual knockback as a result.
  • Isabelle has a pom pom twirl, seemingly as her neutral air.
  • Isabelle makes use of a fishing rod for one of her moves, which can hook opponents.
  • One of her moves involves planting a Lloid Rocket as a sort of land mine that drags opponents into the air when triggered.
  • Her Final Smash, being similar to Villager's, catches opponents under the construction of the Town Hall before it blows up with the enemies inside.

Trivia

• Isabelle is the fourth character to be announced in Ultimate that was previously featured as a Mii costume in Super Smash Bros. 4, the others being Inkling, Chrom, and King K. Rool.
• Isabelle is the third playable character who was originally an Assist Trophy, following Little Mac and Dark Samus.
