Princess Daisy (デイジー姫, Princess Daisy) is a recurring character in the Mario series.
Character description
Princess Daisy, or casually Daisy, is the princess of Sarasaland, a country composed of four kingdoms: Birabuto Kingdom, Muda Kingdom, Easton Kingdom and Chai Kingdom. Daisy's appearance has recived several changes over time. In Super Mario Land, her hair extended past her waist, her crown was red, she had black eyes and jewels, and her dress was yellow with a white waistband. In Mario Tennis (Nintendo 64) Daisy had long, dark brown hair, a tanned skin, dark blue eyes, a magenta crown with yellow and blue gems. In Mario Party 4 Daisy's design has recived a major update. The design reestablished a lighter skin-tone, shorter and brighter hair; also new were the gold crown, the red shoes and the dress with orange accents.
Princess Daisy debuted in Super Mario Land.
One day, a mysterious space alien Tatanga, invades Sarasaland and kidnaps Daisy in order to marry her and make her his queen. He hypnotizes all the land's inhabitants, enslaving them into his army. Mario attempts to rescue Daisy and bring peace to Sarasaland by traveling through each of the four kingdoms trying to reach Tatanga to defeat him and stop the invasion.
Throughout the game, enemies disguise themselves as Daisy to trick Mario into believing he has rescued her, after few seconds the enemies will reveal their true form and run away. In the end Daisy is rescued, but Tatanga manages to escape, after thanking Mario with a kiss she flies away with him in an aeroplane.
Since then, she has generally only appeared in Mario series spin-offs as a partner and counterpart to Princess Peach, where she also takes on a more tomboyish appearance in contrast with the more feminine Peach. Since the GameCube games, she is portrayed as Luigi's main love interest, paralleling Mario and Peach's relationship. Like Waluigi, Daisy is a regular in Mario Kart, Mario Party, and various Mario sports games.
Daisy's first major return to the Super Mario mainstream games was her appearance in Super Mario Run. In this game, Daisy is a unlockable playable character. When the Remix 10 pipe opens, Toad informs Mario that she had got lost and must rescue her. Daisy is unlocked once Area 30 is cleared. Here she is found and curtsies Mario before thanking him. Daisy's special ability is a double jump which allows her to jump in midair.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee
Daisy appears as a trophy. She is also the basis for one of Peach's costumes, which changes many aspects of her appearance to match Daisy's (except for the hairstyle, which is still that of Peach). Daisy's appearances in Melee are based on her classic design seen in Super Mario Land and Mario Party 3 which was retired in the GameCube era.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Daisy once again appears as a trophy, this one depicting her athletic gear from Mario Strikers Charged; she also appears on two stickers. Daisy is once again the basis for one of Peach's costumes; however, unlike in Melee, no model elements are changed for this costume and it is a simple recolor.

In Super Smash Bros. 4
Daisy appears as four trophies in these games, one exclusive to Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS depicting her tennis outfit and three exclusive to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U depicting her regular and baseball outfits, as well as her baby self. Daisy continues to be the basis for one of Peach's costumes; as in Brawl, it is a simple recolor. A Daisy wig is also available as a headgear for all Mii Fighter types.
More notably, Daisy's baseball appearance appears in Smash Tour as a red item. A player who uses it will automatically catch all thrown items for the duration of a battle.

The captain of the Daisy Flowers, Daisy is great both when at bat and when defending. Her fastballs especially are a thing to be feared. Her Star Swing, Flower Swing, will cause a garden to bloom where the ball lands. Fielders will have to wait for the flowers to clear away. What a pretty delay of the game!
When it comes to baseball, Daisy, captain of the Daisy Flowers, is good at battling and even better at defence. She throws a mean fastball when she's on the pitcher's mound, and her batting special, Flower Swing, makes a garden bloom in the outfield. Who says there's no time to stop and smell the flowers in the middle of a ball game?

Daisy was confirmed to appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a playable fighter on June 12, 2018 at the E3 2018 direct. She is an Echo of Peach. Daisy uses a Blue Toad rather than a Red Toad.

- Daisy's Melee Trophy has a graphical glitch in which she has a third eye on the back of her head under her hair. This glitch was patched in the PAL and NTSC v1.2 versions.
- Daisy has the largest amount of trophies (four) than any other non-playable character featured in Super Smash Bros. 4.
