The Crimson Blur or just Blur is a smasher and tournament host from Virginia currently residing in Northern California. He works for Twitch as a Smash community ambassador and is the founder of Team OXY. He has hosted or assisted in hosting national tournaments such as the Kings of Cali series, as well as smaller tournaments in SoCal such as the Super Smash Sundays and SoCal Regionals series. Blur is a popular commentator and is notable for being the owner of the TV that Hungrybox punched after he beat Leffen at EVO 2015.[1] He can be seen in the background of exclaiming "That's my TV guys!" with an incredulous look on his face.

At Smash the Record 2016 a donation goal was set for Blur to smash a CRT on stream, which was reached.

Blur was mentioned in the Scar and Toph Show for losing to Sam Park in a painting match at The Big House 5.[2] He honored Sam Park with a painted portrait in December, two months after the match, as part of the bet for losing the match. [3]

Trivia[edit]

  • Blur is frequently made fun of for losing a streamed tournament set to Mooninite's Kirby at The Next Episode, a topic that comes up relatively often due to Blur being a familiar face within Melee's tournament scene and Kirby's status as one of Melee's worst characters. This would be further propagated when he lost a tournament set to Cereal Rabbit's Kirby one year later.
  • Blur is the focus of a running gag propagated by Nickelodeon All-Stars Brawl developer Thaddeus Crews, in which it is alleged that Blur had failed to reupload Smash @ Xanadu's Project M vods after GimR removed the game from the tournament series.[4][5]
