UTS - The site of many of Sydney's Smash events

Smash Crash and Brawl (also known as SCAB) was a local tournament held at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia on May 24th, 2008.[1] It was the first tournament to feature Super Smash Bros. Brawl in the region and co-existed with Super Smash Bros. Melee. The event was produced by Dedu and run by Codemonkey, through the university's Electronic Gaming Club. SCAB attracted 25-30 people, mostly New South Welshmen. The tournament was faced with lengthy delays through a lack of tournament enforcement and management, with the event spanning beyond 12 hours. Nonetheless, the tournament was enjoyed by the majority of attendees and the scene set for some random surprises that ranged from the pleasant to the downright scary (refer to the image of the "Jaz" double). Kulla stamped his dominance in Brawl with a new and improved Meta Knight, and CAOTIC overcame some close and intense sets to topple long time rival Bringer of Death in Melee.
