Did you know that when you defeat a boss on boss mode, that your characters special effects temporarly get turned off. (E.g. How about:
In the "Two Captains" scene in the Subspace Emissary, the cutscene ends with Olimar having only one Pikmin left, but when starting the level, Olimar still begins with three Pikmin as usual? Sometimes, after clearing an ambush in the Subspace Emissary, a sound effect can be heard that is the same as Mario getting a 1-UP in the Super Mario games? (An example of this is one of the ambushes in Subspace Bomb Factory 1.)

What? This doesn't make any sense. ==Lying down==
I found an interesting fact. ShupaRoeh (talk) 23:50, 14 April 2012 (EDT)
:Users at SSB Wiki are not mind readers. OK. A player lies down. Another player attacks with a low attack. The player who lied down gets more upwards knockback than when it isn't lying down. <font color="red">Shupa</font><font color="blue">Roeh</font> 00:46, 3 May 2012 (EDT)
:I believe you're misinterpreting the "bouncing while lying down" animation as "leaving the ground and re-landing", which is not the case. If lying down characters took any upwards knockback they would leave the ground and immediately stop lying down. Toomai Glittershine The Golden 07:59, 3 May 2012 (EDT)

::This is very game-dependent. SSB64 halves damage when lying down, so less knockback. Brawl has the aforementioned "flop" animation for when lying down and knockback is below a certain level. Toomai Glittershine The Brazen 08:43, 3 May 2012 (EDT)

In Brawl, a character lies down. The other character hits the former character with an attack's hitbox sitting on the ground, like a Dash attack. The former gets extra height after being attacked. Don't object. I know this happens. <font color="red">Shupa</font><font color="blue">Roeh</font> 19:56, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
:I'm not objecting to your observation. I'm saying that you're seeing an animation, not extra knockback. Toomai Glittershine The Golden 21:47, 6 May 2012 (EDT)

:::It appears you did not understand what I said so I will clarify. Characters do not take extra knockback when lying down. From what you have given, it appears that what you call "more upwards knockback" is actually a unique animation used when a character lying down is hit with attacks that produce a certain range of knockback. ==Perfect shielding with the shield up==
As seen here, it's possible to perfect shield with the shield already up in Melee. As explained by RysselSmash, "if you shield a projectile during frames 3~4 ( when you can powershield physical attacks but not projectiles) and keep your shield up, the next physical attack will be PS'd if no projectile hit the shield in between." I'm not adding this one right away because it may need a small bit of further investigation. I say this because we know that Yoshi is able to perfect shield with the shield up randomly. Maybe this has something to do with it, but it works differently for Yoshi? Espyo (talk) 10:31, 15 April 2012 (EDT)
:This is good information, but I don't know how well it would integrate into the DYK section.  Generally, information that can be presented concisely is best for this kind of section, as it's intended to draw potential readers further in from the Main Page.  This is great information for the Perfect shield page.  Clarinet Hawk <small>(talk · contributions)</small> 10:50, 15 April 2012 (EDT)

Please do not add well known facts. Nothing is added to the Wiki from comments like "Fox's blaster doesn't make the enemy flinch." Be especially sure to check that the data is not included on the DOJO!! or in the game itself.

Ike Unleashes Aether

Did you know in the SSE video "Ike Unleashes Aether", he does a normal Aether, but yells "Great Aether!"?

Super Scopes

Did you know that whenever someone fires a Super Scope, they turn yellow? ParaGoomba348 (C'mon, just talk to me!) 21:56, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes, so what? That's well known. And not important. - Gargomon251 (talk) 22:39, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Auroros

Did you knows that when Ike is holding an Auroros and is using his quick draw, he immediately does the slash, only gaining very, very little horizontal distance from the slash? Zexas A. (talk) 00:23, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

er Launcher

I'm not sure whether this was mentioned before, but DYK that the cracker launcher shoots 16 shots like the Ray Gun? Zexas A. (talk) 00:28, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Lucario and Kirby

DYK that Lucario (and a Kirby-that-sucked-lucario) has 3 different voices for its (their) aura sphere attack depending on how much it was charged? Zexas A. (talk) 00:28, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Something not well know, and quite cool.

Did you know than in Brawl, Peach, Wario, Pit, R.O.B, Kirby, Meta Knight, Pikachu, Jigglypuff and Sonic can all pass under Final Destination safely without using any items. If you really don't believe me I can take dodgey video with my mobile and upload it, but that would take some effort.Anyway, shove it on the front page, it's interesting.

Ok here's some proof

Hidden Villains

In the Subspace Emissary, near the begging in the video where the Halberd first appears at the Mid Air Stadium, when the red clouds roll in they make the faces of Bowser, Ganondorf, and Porky. 2D character sprites?

"...that in the opening line up of characters, in the opening sequence and after the game is beaten, the character sprites are 2D?" Is this really true? Can somebody get some caps of this? I tried pausing, but all I could get is a blurry view.

Yes it's true. I didn't lie when I posted that. I'd recommend defeating tabuu, and watching the ending where the characters roll by. You should notice that each character sprite slightly bends upwards to the top right as they go buy. If you watch it slowly, you'll notice that they appear to be flat. That Ike fights for his friends?

That the music on Shadow Moses Island effects how much snow will be falling?

That while flinching, a majority of human characters will grit their teeth, with one eye closed and the other wide open?

 • That if you roll your control stick to the side instead of smashing it, your character will instantly get up from the crouch position, instead of having to wait for them to get up?
 • THAT MY OPINIONS ARE IMPORTANT ALRIGHT?

Characters tumble when entering a mid-air door

I mean, seriously? Who doesn't know this already? About 25% of the Subspace Emissary's doors are in mid-air, and you can clearly see that the characters enter their tumbling animation. The only ones who don't know about this are likely the only ones who never even played Brawl. Even if not many people know, this fact isn't very interesting to begin with.

Also, the section on the Main Page hasn't been changed in ages. Every once in a while, I like to check the Wiki just to see if I can spot some really neat tidbits of trivia. Lying down

Users at SSB Wiki are not mind readers. If you want to let us know about the interesting fact, you'll need to type it for us. MegaTron1XD:p 01:03, 15 April 2012 (EDT)

OK. A player lies down. Another player attacks with a low attack. The player who lied down gets more upwards knockback than when it isn't lying down. ShupaRoeh 00:46, 3 May 2012 (EDT)

I believe you're misinterpreting the "bouncing while lying down" animation as "leaving the ground and re-landing", which is not the case. If lying down characters took any upwards knockback they would leave the ground and immediately stop lying down. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Golden 07:59, 3 May 2012 (EDT)
Hmm... from what I just tried in SSB64, a character that's lying down will receive LESS knockback then a character standing up. Espyo (talk) 08:35, 3 May 2012 (EDT)
This is very game-dependent. SSB64 halves damage when lying down, so less knockback. Brawl has the aforementioned "flop" animation for when lying down and knockback is below a certain level. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Brazen 08:43, 3 May 2012 (EDT)
This applies to Brawl only ShupaRoeh 10:35, 3 May 2012 (EDT)

In Brawl, a character lies down. The other character hits the former character with an attack's hitbox sitting on the ground, like a Dash attack. The former gets extra height after being attacked. Don't object. I know this happens. ShupaRoeh 19:56, 6 May 2012 (EDT)

I'm not objecting to your observation. I'm saying that you're seeing an animation, not extra knockback. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Golden 21:47, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
Good. The lying down animation is used in this observation. ShupaRoeh 10:26, 12 May 2012 (EDT)
It appears you did not understand what I said so I will clarify. Characters do not take extra knockback when lying down. From what you have given, it appears that what you call "more upwards knockback" is actually a unique animation used when a character lying down is hit with attacks that produce a certain range of knockback. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Honcho 12:40, 12 May 2012 (EDT)

Perfect shielding with the shield up

This is good information, but I don't know how well it would integrate into the DYK section. Primid Speed

I find it hard to believe that Primids can run slower than Jigglypuff and can accelerate to speeds as fast as Sonic. They simply have a chasing speed that is faster than several characters, not all. MegaTron1XD:p 00:06, 12 May 2012 (EDT)
I was gonna say that, but forgot. Also, there's the fact that they have different speeds in different difficulties, right? Espyo (talk) 07:54, 12 May 2012 (EDT)
I think this applies to Intense only. ShupaRoeh 10:25, 12 May 2012 (EDT)
It doesn't. They only get faster. If you're going to test running speeds of Primids, can you use fast characters? I don't see how in the world a Primid can run as fast as Sonic when 30 seconds of testing would reveal that they run much slower than him. Your theory has been proven false, and unless you provide much more specific circumstances, it will remain false. MegaTron1XD:p 12:46, 12 May 2012 (EDT)
