Tournament summary[edit]
This tournament wasn't ranked as a major until the big upsets that occured at DELTA 8, in particular TamaPDaifuku's, Akakikusu's and Lv.1's run (all three players who were at this tournament). By defeating several top players (such as Lv.1's win over Sparg0 or Akakikusu's win over MkLeo), their player's values were increased, causing UltCore Second to reach major status.
This tournament, which was won by the first seed Glutonny, made him the third player to won a major, alongside Tea and zackray, in the 3 Smash superreggions: North America, Europe and Japan. Glutonny is the first non-japanese player to achieve the "triple-crown", but he's also the first international player to won a japanese major since Kagaribi 10 in May 2023, which was won by Sparg0.
