PGRU v2 marked the first time invitationals were counted, although players were still required to participate in a certain amount of tournaments in order to qualify for the rankings. The Fall 2019 PGRU lists the best smashers for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Although the season officially started on July 13th, 2019, the tournaments that qualified were not announced due to the previous power rankings being unreleased at that time. The season ended on December 15th, 2019.
Methodology[edit]
PGRU v2 marked the first time invitationals were counted, although players were still required to participate in a certain amount of tournaments in order to qualify for the rankings. The international multiplier returned and factored in PGR-ranked players: each player was counted as 2 points for continental tournaments or 2.5 points for international tournaments. Finally, the B-tier threshold was lowered to 600 points.

Area 51[edit]
Hours before they began unveiling the regular top 50 rankings, PGStats released a list of players who most closely missed the cut for the Fall 2019 PGRU top 50, known as "Area 51." They were unranked between each other, and as such are all considered to be effectively ranked #51.

X-Factor adjusted rankings (subjective)[edit]
Unlike previous lists, exact X-Factor placements were not released for any player aside from those with an X-Factor of 0.
The following were confirmed to be on the X-Factor survey.[1] Their positions on the X-Factor list are unknown as the list was not publicly released.
Trivia[edit]
- This is the first PGR list where there are more international players than American players: Americans take up 24 spots, and international players - split between Japan (20), Mexico (2), Canada (2), France (1), and the Netherlands (1) - have a total of 26 spots.
- The placements of several players, most notably, Leffen, Goblin, and Dark Wizzy, garnered a bit of controversy and spawned a few memes including "losing points for beating Tweek" and Dark Wizzy's placement.
- Due to his utter dominance throughout the season, MkLeo's player card has since become an ironic meme in the Ultimate community.
