(I honestly thought I wasn't going to do that great, but I surprised everyone that "The best "Smash 4" Meta Knight player still has what it takes of Melee!" Doubles was the best part tho!)

*The Nihon fest tournament was a F**KING MESS!!! I had 16 players on a list chosen to fight each other AT RANDOM (Not a standard bracket) ON ONE TV and they DID NOT have a GameCube Controller Adapter (THANK GOD I brought mine, and to add to that, other GameCube controller users had to borrow mine, Jason ({{Sm|FoCus}}) and {{Sm|Krizeros}}' controllers, as the only provided Wii U Pro Controllers). After me and Jason complained the TO (who BTW is a total Sakurai-esque troll who doesn't know how to run a proper tournament and isn't even the REAL TO and only a sub) to make a bracket format instead, he ORIGINALLY did not plan for there to be a losers bracket (until I suggested it). Top 8 was played the second day even though we had plenty of time the first day. When Top 8 FINALLY happened, only 4 of the 8 players showed up (Me, Jason, Krizeros, and some other guy we didn't know). The worst part was the Top 8 "''Bracket''"; the TO made it ROUND-ROBIN rules instead of the proper bracket, and ignored the fact that winners play winners, and losers play losers. Me and Jason spent almost 12 min arguing with him until he finally decided to do it the proper way. After the tournament, Me, Jason, and Krizeros immediately drove off to VSB to make-up for a disappointing tournament.

I started playing Smash when I was 8 years old, where at the time I only had my Wii and a few games to play with. Until one day at a yard sale I saw a copy of Super Smash Bros. Melee, two Wavebird Controllers (I eventually got Wired Controllers), and a Memory Card. Ever since that day I knew that the series would be with me for a very long time.

Im a very dedicated Meta Knight player because of my childhood experiences with The Kirby Series, and will probably continue to play him no matter what Buff, Nerf, controversy, Tier list, or player opinion. Some of my friends who've played against Vancouver's top players like Big D and Firefly, and are of even skill of me, even consider me the best Smash 4 Meta Knight player in Vancouver (and some even consider me the best Smash 4 Kirby), mainly for these reasons:

What is 20MK?

20MK is a small, unofficial, kick-starter group created by MetaKing, a player generally considered to be the best SSB4 Meta Knight player in Vancouver, British Columbia. The groups main goal is to find and combine forces of Meta Knight players to improve and innovate the character's metagame, in a similar vein to 20GX. 20MK also encourages new players from young high-schoolers to inexperienced college students to join 20MK in an effort to improve their skill and mentality, even if they do not main or secondary Meta Knight. As of now, only two players are members of 20MK, due to the fact of being new and very unknown.

The term 20MK comes from the infamous joke made by Hax known as 20XX, where it is said that "The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Fox." The term has since been parodied to other Smash characters, such as 20GX for Captain Falcon, or 20DDD for King Dedede. For Meta Knight, the term abbreviates to 20MK.

General things about me

  • I once experienced a glitch in Project M 3.02 with my friend in Boss Battles Mode, where my friend AuraSoul's Mewtwo (PM) started out immensely tiny for some reason and stayed like that until he died. Unfortunately this only happened once and I didn't record any video prof (wish I did).
  • I have been to Nintendo of Canada's building (because it is located in my hometown), as well as walking past Nintendo of JAPAN's building during my trip to Japan.
  • I have been in the building of Namco Bandai Studios in Vancouver's building, and am friends with the Executive Vice President, Atsuo (Anthony) Nakayama.
  • I Got Kirby Triple Deluxe one day before it officially came out in North America, and NO it is not a Japanese copy (Strangely I found it in a Real Canadian SuperStore of all places?)
  • I met the voice of Mario, Charles Martinet at a Retro Gaming Expo in New Westminster.

  • The Nihon fest tournament was a F**KING MESS!!! I had 16 players on a list chosen to fight each other AT RANDOM (Not a standard bracket) ON ONE TV and they DID NOT have a GameCube Controller Adapter (THANK GOD I brought mine, and to add to that, other GameCube controller users had to borrow mine, Jason (FoCus) and Krizeros' controllers, as the only provided Wii U Pro Controllers). After me and Jason complained the TO (who BTW is a total Sakurai-esque troll who doesn't know how to run a proper tournament and isn't even the REAL TO and only a sub) to make a bracket format instead, he ORIGINALLY did not plan for there to be a losers bracket (until I suggested it). Top 8 was played the second day even though we had plenty of time the first day. When Top 8 FINALLY happened, only 4 of the 8 players showed up (Me, Jason, Krizeros, and some other guy we didn't know). The worst part was the Top 8 "Bracket"; the TO made it ROUND-ROBIN rules instead of the proper bracket, and ignored the fact that winners play winners, and losers play losers. Me and Jason spent almost 12 min arguing with him until he finally decided to do it the proper way. After the tournament, Me, Jason, and Krizeros immediately drove off to VSB to make-up for a disappointing tournament.

  • At Anime Revolution 2014, me and my partner won our first set, then after that someone came-up to us and said "you were fighting the wrong team". We then played the team we were suppose to fight, but my friend's Link (PM) got the $#!% beaten out of him, leaving my Meta Knight (PM) alone, which resulted in our loss. BUT THEN the same guy told us that we WERE fighting the right team, but couldn't do anything about it because of complications on the bracket and because it was already near the end of the tournament, making us only place 7th out of 11 teams! (And I drank a lot of Orange Crush for nothing!).
  • Big D (the best player in Vancouver) won Anime Revolution 2014 so Dominantly, that he was BANNED FROM PARTICIPATING NEXT YEAR!!.... Or, so they say... When I asked him at Vancouver Battle Royale #2, he said "No, I'm not banned from anything...", but when I asked other players, they said "thats all he f***ing talks about..."

Stupidest character to fight against *Cloud (SSB4)Mario (SSB4)←(The easiest characters to play that are Top Tiers, so it gets annoying seeing and fighting like 29!! different Clouds and Marios at one tournament).
  • Sonic (SSB4)←(Literally just runs away and goes the same 2 moves over and over again gets repetitive to pay against and watch (except 6WX; he's actually fun to watch).
  • Pikachu (SSB4)←(Not to sure why I hate this one).
  • Ryu (SSB4) Bayonetta (SSB4)←(Half of my characters are fast-fallers!!! Do you know how hard it is to deal with those match-ups as fast-fallers!!! >:( (Know wonder I picked up Kirby).
  • Corrin (SSB4)←(Side B mindgames of "Is he/she going front, back, or cancel" are to much for me to predict, and don't even get me started on this...)
  • Link (SSB4)←(Uhhhhhh........ Kill me, please.........).

Super Smash Bros.
IntenseDifficulty.pngMain I've never had an interest in playing any other character besides Falcon as a primary main, and he is the easiest character to play as in my opinion (besides recovery). I really don't see Smash 64 as something I'll play truly competitively due to its higher learning curve compared to the other games, so I really only play it in friendlies, but Falcon is always the character I turn to. (Also Down air is broken!)
VeryHardDifficulty.pngSecondaries Before I unlocked Falcon as a kid, Kirby and Fox were my mains, and decided to keep them as primary secondaries after I decided to main Falcon. Same story as Kirby...

I generally liked playing as Luigi as a kid, and even though some consider him the worst character (which really he isn't!), I would always play Luigi if Im having a good time. Same as Luigi, except as a better character.

IntenseDifficulty.pngMains Before I got Melee for myself, I played the game at a friend's house, and believe it or not, Marth was the first Smash Bros. character I ever played! After I got Melee, I immediately unlocked Marth first. After I started to learn the game competitively, and learned about all the advanced techniques and tier lists, I knew I made a good choice of choosing Marth.

I don't recall how I got to main Falco, but he seems to fit my playstyle well, and I felt like I can learn the advanced fundamentals like Mulitishining from him, so here he is.

Easy for anyone to pick up and play, and my "for fun" character that I feel Im decent with. Personally, Im all about disrespecting in some way.

If I feel like my Marth is playing good enough to "devolve", and Low Tier tournament main.

IntenseDifficulty.pngMains I feel like if I'm ever playing someone new I always have to explain why I main him: Quote- "I main Meta Knight not because he's the best character (I didin't even know he was for a while) I main him because of my childhood with the Kirby series, and because he is my favorite video game character!" (I cannot tell you how many times I've had to say that!) Anyway, Meta Knight in Brawl was really fun for me because he could do anything I wanted for a character, and as a result, fit my playstyle perfectly. It was like I was meant to play him.

During the short ban on Meta Knight, I needed to find a main. Then I remembered that if Meta Knight wasn't a character for me, Dedede was my go to guy. I really like his playstyle and the things he can do, like his amazing recovery and his infamous chain grab (I swear, I've made like so many players rage-quit just from that!) And BTW, landing that Forward Smash, is ooooo soooo satisfying!

VeryHardDifficulty.pngSecondaries At first, I hated some of the changes the did to Marth from Melee, such as the reduced range and nerfed Down air, but after a while I gotten to like this Marth too, and while he is no longer my true main, he is my go to secondary. Same story as Marth.

IntenseDifficulty.pngMains I defiantly planned on maining Meta Knight again after he was announced, but during the time of October 2014-May 2015, I was honestly SCARED about his viability at the time, feared that I would really have to work myself off in tournament if he were to be considered Low Tier. But, as time went on, all of that changed for the better. After LEO's win against Mr. R at Smash Factor 4, I knew... "Meta Knight's back to his former glory!" Ever since then, I've gotten decent results in tournament with his and he has become the character I am most recognized with around the players, and is my favorite incarnation of Meta Knight to play as.

Before the game came out, of all the newcomers, Lucina was the only one I had any interest in maining. When the game came out, the character didn't feel underwhelming to me unlike most people, and decided to keep the character despite player opinion. Another reason was because of the severe nerfs to Marth, I decided Lucina's less precise playstyle wouldn't affect how I played Marth in Melee (and doing so, it didn't affect how I played Melee Marth). I'm always one to choose Lucina over Marth!

VeryHardDifficulty.pngSecondaries Despite the character's nerfs (which I didn't notice for a while) I still loved playing this character, and his reputation in Vancouver is also strong because of Big D. One of my favorite characters to play outside of bracket, and in my opinion the most underrated character in the game. Kirby is a character who I always enjoyed watching and who I would always root for in tournament (if he wasn't against any of my mains), and I loved his combo game and fundamentals, and Kirby as a character himself. So, one day I decided to pick up the character, and instantly felt like I mastered the character. His easy combo game and simple strategy really fit my playstyle, and I hope one day I could get him to be on par with Meta Knight and Lucina.

Same as Dedede The buffs he received were enough to make him a secondary again, and is a character I LOVE to play as in friendlies.

I played Marth at the Best Buy demo before the game came out, and what Ken said during his interview with Screwattack was all true: Quote "Melee Marth was amazing! I loved Marth! Brawl he was still amazing! And then when I play Smash 4 Marth... Everything that he had that was good, was taken away!" -Ken. But that didn't stop me from playing him at least, as I still enjoyed playing him even if I preferred playing Lucina now. I don't have him as a primary main, as I don't want to effect my Melee Marth playstyle. Though he is EXTREMELY OVERRATED!!! I still "somewhat" enjoy playing him (even if its much less frequent than Meta Knight and Lucina combined), and he is superior to his Melee-self.

Project M
IntenseDifficulty.pngMain While I mained the character before this, during the Summer of 2014, I went to Anime Revolution, an event Vancouver has annually, and played a TON of Project M friendlies, of course, as Meta Knight. I was considered the best Meta Knight at that event, and really got me confident on my potential in tournaments.
VeryHardDifficulty.pngSecondaries Under the influence of Big D (who I met at Anime Revolution 2014... And got bodied by...) I decided to Keep Dedede around as a strong secondary. Same as Melee. BY FAR the best version of Roy ever, and the only one I truly enjoy playing. Project M did a FANTASTIC job with buffs that actually matter, and defiantly the only version of Roy I don't sandbag on in tournament. Same as Melee.
