Trouble King (迷惑大王, Meiwakudaiō) is the 1st event match of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee. As Mario, the player must win a 2 stock match against a CPU Bowser on Battlefield, and there is no time limit. When the match starts, the player spawns above the center of the low, large platform, and Bowser spawns above the topmost platform. Bowser is heavily handicapped and his AI is only level one.
This event has somewhat of a successor in Event 42: Trouble King 2, and a further followup in Super Smash Bros. Brawl with Event 1: Two Trouble Kings, where it also includes King Dedede for the player to fight.
