The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Smash Controller is a companion app for Super Smash Bros. 4, made available on June 14, 2015 on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. The app is a standalone instance of the "Wii U" menu in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. The menu allows players to use their 3DS system as a controller in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The app allows players that do not have their own copy of the game to do the same. This is the only functionality of the app; the ability to transfer custom characters between systems is disabled, and the connection display on the Wii U screen will indicate that the 3DS system is connecting through the app rather than the full game by displaying its Home Menu icon instead of the 3DS version logo. Additionally, the controller port number and chosen character do not show up on the top screen as they do in Smash 3DS; instead, the title screen of the app is shown the entire time the app is open. The app only existed as a cheaper alternative to buying Smash 3DS for players who wanted to use their 3DS as a controller.
As of the shutdown of the Nintendo 3DS eShop on March 27th, 2023, there are no official ways to purchase or download this application, though it can still be redownloaded if purchased prior to the shutdown and its baked-in inclusion in Smash 3DS means its functionality is physically preserved.
Pricing[edit]
Smash Controller was available on My Nintendo as a Gold Reward until November 16th, 2017 for 10 Gold Points and then later returned as a Platinum Reward for 80 Platinum Points, redeemable for up to 5 times, until November 1st, 2018.[1][2]
