Spike Tops (トゲメット, Togemetto) are enemies from the Mario series.
Origin[edit]
Spike Tops made their debut in Super Mario World and has become a recurring enemy in later Mario games. They are similar to Buzzy Beetles in appearance, except their shell is red instead of blue and has a spike in its center.
Spike Tops can also walk on walls and ceilings instead of only walking on the ground. Similar to Buzzy Beetles, Spike Tops are unaffected by fireballs.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[edit]
As an enemy[edit]
Spike Tops appear as enemies in Smash Run, but they do not directly attack the player. Touching the spike on their back deals 4% damage and high knockback, and if touched when pointing downward causes a meteor smash, while direct contact trips Fighters. Similar to Geemers, they are capable of walking on walls. Spike Tops are immune to projectiles unless they are first knocked prone, but are always vulnerable to grabs and throws.
Trophy[edit]

- Spike Top
These turtles come from the Super Mario series and have one big spike on their backs. Their eyes glow from beneath the edge of their shells, watching you as they approach. In Smash Run, they crawl along walls, floors, and the ceiling. They aren't bothered by projectiles, so you'll have to find other ways to defeat them.
With a massive spike on its back, glowing little eyes peering out from under its shell, and the way it walks along walls and ceilings, this turtle foe from the Super Mario series is pretty creepy. In Smash Run, just touching it will hurt you, and its shell protects it from projectiles. You'll either have to attack it directly or throw it.
