Darkness (known internally as purple) is an attack effect in the Super Smash Bros. series that debuted in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Characters hit by a darkness attack temporarily flash purple and emit shadowy energy similar to that of fire.
Darkness attacks are boosted by Darkness Attack stickers in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's The Subspace Emissary, but only Ganondorf can use them.
