'''Ink''' is a special effect in [[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]] that is used only by {{SSBU|Inkling}} in most of its attacks and {{SSBU|Kirby}} when copying them. When opponents are covered in ink, they take additional damage from attacks from other fighters. A fully inked opponent takes 1.5x damage with no extra knockback and will stay inked for 20 seconds.

Ink is a major aesthetic and tool in the ''Splatoon'' series, being the embodiment of the Inklings in Inkopolis, and the basis for their weapons. For the Inklings, it is their major form of transport, since they can swim in it, and defense, since they can use it as a projectile, and that an Inkling of different color cannot step in that Inkling's ink, which can be lethal to them. Ink is also used in the annual Turf Wars, where competing teams of Inklings try to cover as much area as possible in their team colored ink.

There are a few attacks in the Smash Bros. series that have the ink effect, primarily used by Inkling. Ink attacks cover foes in ink, which causes them to take more damage proportional to the coverage amount. The colour of ink does not matter, aside from making the coverage amount harder to estimate; an Inkling is equally affected by having their own ink reflected or used against them by Kirby.

The stage can also be covered in ink, which can slow down anyone who touches it except for the Inkling that left it behind. This appears to be an additional property of specific attacks, rather than a side bonus of the ink effect itself.
