Luigi with a flower ailment in Ultimate.

Flower is a special condition and an attack effect that forms a flower on a character's head. Known as RipStickFlower in Brawl, and SSB4's files, the condition can be set in Special Smash for all fighters to permanently have flowers on their heads. The flowering effect is simply a variation of the magic effect. The only items that can put a flower on the foe's head is Lip's Stick, and a summoned Togepi from a Pokeball can also give the player a flower effect if it chooses to do leech seed. The flower will continuously deal damage (1% every 21 frames in Smash 4). The flower becomes bigger if an opponent already flowered is hit with a flowering attack again. The flower can be removed quickly by button mashing. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the Alloys are immune to flowering.

In SSB4, the maximum number of frames that the flower will stay on an opponent's head for is dependant on how much damage the incoming attack dealt. This is equal to damage dealt x 40.5, which damage-wise is equivalent to a little under double the damage dealt by the attack.

In Ultimate, the flower’s appearance was changed and now resembles the pink flowers seen on the title screen of Panel de Pon.
