User:PeabodySam/Sandbox/Minor Improvements
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a great game. Let's just say it gets a score of 9/10... so what could make it a perfect 10/10? Here's a page for some minor improvements that could fix a few nitpicks of mine. For more ambitious new ideas, see User:PeabodySam/Sandbox/Ideas.
Movesets[edit]
Daisy[edit]
Unlike Princess Peach, Princess Daisy is rarely a damsel in distress and is never directly associated with Toads. Therefore, her moveset should reflect that, and there is a simple solution. Daisy's grabs, pummels, throws, and neutral special animations should be taken from Peach's moveset from Melee, Brawl, and SSB4 instead of being identical to Peach's updated moveset in Ultimate. That way, Toad doesn't assist Daisy during her grabs and throws, and as for her neutral special... well, Daisy absolutely seems like the kind of person who would smile while using an unwilling Toad as a body shield. This small change would help set Peach and Daisy apart and better reflect their respective roles and personalities.
Alternate costumes[edit]
- Charizard: One of Charizard's costumes should be replaced with its current shiny coloration.
- Greninja: The fourth costume should be changed to accurately match Greninja's shiny coloration.
- Lucario: One of Lucario's costumes (preferably the sixth, which is just a darker version of its default) should be replaced with its shiny coloration.
- Luigi: The sixth costume should have a yellow "L" to match Waluigi's design.
- Mario: Fire Mario is simply too iconic to have been replaced. I'm not sure which other costume would have to go instead, but if I had to pick, I'd go with the purple costume since it's more fitting for Luigi than Mario.
- Mewtwo: Either the sixth or seventh costume should be replaced with Mewtwo's current shiny coloration.
- Simon: The fourth costume already has red hair, but it should be made more saturated in color, making the homage to his Castlevania Chronicles design much more explicit.
Music[edit]
- Training Mode: Restore the full-length track from 64.
- Jungle Level (64): Restore the full-length track from 64.
- King K. Rool / Ship Deck 2: Restore the full-length track from Melee and Brawl.
- DK Rap: Restore the full-length track from Melee and Brawl.
- Tal Tal Heights: Change the title to Koholint Island / Tal Tal Heights.
- Brinstar (Melee): Restore the full-length track from Melee and Brawl.
- Boss Battle 4: Change the title to Vs. Zeta Metroid, or something more interesting... really, anything less generic than "Boss Battle 4"!
- Pollyanna (I Believe in You): Restore the full-length track from Melee and Brawl.
- Gobi's Valley: Change the title to Gobi's Valley / Gruntilda's Lair.
Spirits[edit]
Spirit Battles[edit]
In some cases, I feel that a Spirit Battle could have better represented the respective Spirit. Usually, this just means adjusting the fighter, stage, or music choices.
