Maesuma'LANDMARK 2" was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate superregional held in Hirakata City, Kansai, Japan, on August 4th, 2024.
Tournament summary[edit]
The tournaments 1st seed, Raru dropped out of the event, creating opportunities for other players, and in particular for the 8th seed 33Peranbox who would win the event after upsetting the 2nd seed, Lv.1 in winners finals and exchanging sets with the 5th seed Jogibu in grand finals.
This event includes a number of notable upsets. Ryuoh, the 3rd seed, placed 13th after being upset by the 62nd seed Dynamite in pools and the 15th seed Shion in losers, the 6th seed, Raki placed 17th, after being upset by the 59th seed Yukio in pools and the 9th seed Yone_pi in losers, and the 4th seed, Karaage finished 9th after losing to the 20th seed Tas in the first round of Winners Top 32 and the 10th seed Furararamen in losers.
Furararamen and Tas made two of the most notable runs of the tournament, with Furaramen beating Yone_Pi, Karaage, the 7th seed Navy, and Tas enroute to placing 4th, and Tas placing 5th after beating karaage, Jogibu, and the 13th seed YamaD. Other notable runs included the 27th seed Maya placing 5th, the 63rd seed, Dynamite, placing 9th, the 80th seed, Omiso placing 17th, and the 118th seed Su buta no painappuru placing 25th.
