The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Talk:Rope Snake
I found a little glitch with the Rope Snake as a tether recovery. Step 1: Training mode, 1/4 speed. Step 2: Grab a ledge. Result: Rope Snake's head spasms the F out. Don't know if it's worth adding or not. Also, I use the PAL version, so it likely works in every version. {EspyoT} 17:50, April 8, 2010 (UTC)
Merge[edit]
People may object to the merges of Grapple Beam and Hookshot, but there's no questioning this move's merge. The article's more about it's role in Mother 3 than it's role in Brawl. Furthermore, it sucks as both a tether and a zair, doing no damage and having really poor range. Sir Anon the great 05:50, August 12, 2010 (UTC)
Keep separate - Notable tether, just as the Grapple Beam and Hookshot are. I also have to disagree with your opinion that it "sucks" because it "doesn't do any damage" (did you even know that that isn't the original purpose of a tether?), because that is no where near true. Pivoting with the Rope Snake takes less time to execute than using it regularly, in a similar fashion to most other grabs and Yoshi's tongue. It aids Lucas' recovery; he already has a unique second jump, and should he end up close to an edge, the Rope Snake is there for a quick recovery. BNK [E|T|C] 20:08, August 12, 2010 (UTC)
As we disscussed on the IRC, though, it can be described in one sentence, so delete. Anon 02:53, August 13, 2010 (UTC)
Absolutely no merge. The rope snake is like the reflector; yes we could cover it in other articles, but it is actually better for both article to keep it separate. Secondly, efficacy is not an issue when it come to natural moves. When combos are involved, it efficacy is important as notability is a product of it. But in terms of character's main move-sets and/or equipment, it exists as part of the character's repertoire, therefore it is notable. We have a page on Sing even though it is virtually worthless. No Merge: And since most everyone seems to agree, im ending this discussion. If someone besides Mr. Anon is in favor of a merge, than put the template back up. Doctor Pain 99 (CTE) 03:57, August 13, 2010 (UTC)
Ivy's recovery?[edit]
Rope snake is not NEARLY long enough to match Ivysaur's recovery move. 25T16 It's-a me! 22:53, 19 August 2011 (EDT)
