The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |
Check out our project page for ongoing projects that SmashWiki needs help with. |

Here's some stuff that I think would be cool in Smash. Is this stuff for a hypothetical Switch version? Just some ideas, is all. I'm not 100% deeply attached to most of these, but I would enjoy seeing them. Comments are welcomed, if you're so inclined.

Modes and system
- A new mode named Smash Dash. Essentially a platform/beat-'em-up combination, with elements similar to the Mushroom Kingdom Adventure Mode level, several Subspace Emissary levels, and Smash Run. Characters would be dropped into a randomly generated level, each of which would include light platforming elements and a random selection of enemies similar to Smash Run. Players would have access to a system of powers like Uprising and Smash Run. Ambushes are common.
- At each level's halfway point and conclusion, players will encounter a miniboss-style enemy such as Bonkers, who must be defeated to progress.
- After finishing two levels, players will fight a matching boss enemy, such as Petey Piranha if playing as Mario, Ridley if playing as Samus, Duon if fighting as Mr. Game & Watch, etc. Most series would provide an appropriate boss, and any characters from series without a boss would fight one from a thematically similar series or from the SSE.
- Defeating the boss "clears" the mode as that character, similar to Adventure Mode (and would award the "Alt." trophy or similar). However, players can keep playing to fight through more levels, more midbosses, and bosses every other level. Each boss fight after the first is randomized. Clearing additional levels yields further rewards such as trophies, gold, etc.
- Allow players to set a default ruleset, rather than defaulting back to two-minute time matches.
- Custom moves and equipment are separated entirely, and matches can be played with both, either, or neither - and are clearly labeled. Custom moves may be used without building a "set", and can be assigned on the CSS.
- Custom moves are changed to have fewer cases of "more powerful but slower" and "weaker but faster" kinds of things, and instead more distinct customs that reference source material. For example, custom moves for Mario's Fireball could instead offer more distinct options like the Superball, or alternatives for Shulk's Back Slash being different arts like Shaker Edge.
- Trophies being somewhat less dependent on model rips from source games in general, allowing for more instances of older characters getting new models. (Melee had some of this, but how much of that was deliberate design choice versus how much was due to lack of contemporary 3D models isn't clear.)
- Third-party content is extended beyond only the series with playable characters to also include elements like music and trophies from other series by the same company, with preferential treatment to games which have appeared on Nintendo platforms. SSB4 already has some of this, but more would be good (e.g., why is there no Ace Attorney music).
- At the end of all major DLC development, new challenges are added for free involving the DLC characters and content. These would unlock additional trophies, CDs, etc. related to the new content.
