The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

No offense to the dead but why have a dead smasher who had little to no notability? Seriously without any good tourniment placements and overall status, we might as well have a rat become a smasher in a tournament and write a page about that! Drakon64 00:04, 26 December 2011 (EST)
- Whether a smasher is currently dead or alive has little bearing on their notability, at least for our purposes here. But Yoshipal13 has not demonstrated notability other than his abysmal placings in a few tournaments. FYI, Drakon64, tournament is spelled with an "a". This is correct, if a smasher has achieved notability at one point, them dying or becoming inactive does not remove that past notability. And a smasher article about them will remain here unless they (or a relative in the case of a dead smasher) requests the article to be deleted, or some decision affecting smasher articles as a whole is made (such as the notability requirements being made stricter).

Someone doesn't need to get "good" tournament placings to achieve notability. As written on SW:NOTE, there are other ways to achieve notability that doesn't involve performing in tournaments. And a player can achieve notability by just attending many tournaments, and becoming a recognised figure in their region, regardless of if they actually perform well (though of course, high placings will get a player more noticed than just attending many tournaments).
Now in the case of Yoshipal13, I'm afraid he is not one of those players who achieved notability. He hasn't attended that many tournaments, and those he did he placed bottom to mediocre. And as far as I can see, this guy never achieved notability in spite of his poor tournament performance. Plus, unlike with other deceased smashers like NES n00b and Sake, I never seen his death talked about/mentioned anywhere. Omega Tyrant 03:09, 26 December 2011 (EST)
Possible death date on Smasherbeta?[edit]
A few smashers mentioned on the wiki are deceased, and the way that their birth date is put into the smasherbeta, it gives an updates age, as if they were still alive. Is there a way to put in a death date template to solve this problem? DarkFox01The Legendary 22:11, 8 February 2013 (EST)
