The Smash World Tour 2022 Championships, or Smash World Tour Championships 2022, was the cancelled Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate finale for Smash World Tour 2022, and was planned to be held in San Antonio, Texas on December 9th-11th, 2022. The 30 players of each game who qualified through the point system (1 player from each of the 7 regions with the highest points, and the other 23 players with the highest points) would participate in the tournament. A Last Chance Qualifier for each game was planned to be held on December 9th with the Top 2 players qualifying, bringing the total to 32 players for each game. Side events would include Melee and Ultimate doubles, Melee Mid Tiers, and Ultimate Squad Strike. The tournament was planned to have the second-largest singles pot for a Melee tournament and the third-largest singles pot for an Ultimate tournament.
The tournament was cancelled on November 29th, 2022, as Nintendo would not license the tournament, forcing the team to cancel it.
Format[edit]
There would be a round-robin Group Stage and a final double-elimination Championship Bracket for each game. The 32 players were to be divided into eight round-robin groups of four players each. The first placing player of each group would be sent to the winners' side of the Championship Bracket, while the second and third placing player of each group would be sent the losers' side of the Championship Bracket. The Top 24 would be played in the Championship Bracket in a double-elimination format. All sets would be Best of 5, in both the Group Stage and Championship Bracket.
The Last Chance Qualifier on December 9th would be played up until the Top 2, with the Grand Finals not being played out. The Group Stage would start on December 9th and continue on December 10th. The Championship Bracket would start on December 10th and would be played to completion on December 11th. The exact schedule was never released.

Sock qualified as Oceania's representative[1] at 48th place with 590 points as Joshman was attending Mogul Chessboxing Championship the same weekend as a spectator.[2]
** Spark would qualify as he was the next non-qualified player on the leaderboard after Fiction forfeited his qualification spot, at 30th place with 825 points. Fiction was attending Mogul Chessboxing Championship the same weekend[3] and was not going to the finale.[4]
