The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

1 button

- "1" redirects here. For the player that is also known as 1, see Smasher:brandon (NorCal).
The 1 button (or one button) is a small button located towards the bottom of the Wii Remote, right above the 2 button. Both the 1 and 2 buttons match the color of the Wii Remote shell.
Overview[edit]
When playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Super Smash Bros. for Wii U with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, the 1 button executes a character's up taunt. If 1 and 2 are pressed together in Nunchuk style, a character does their side taunt (leaving the 2 button as the down taunt). When playing with the Wii Remote held sideways, the 1 button is used for special moves. If 1 and 2 are pressed together in horizontal style, the character performs a smash attack.
In Brawl and For Wii U, the 1 button can be remapped to perform other functions.
