Forum:SSBD
Alright so here's the deal. In an attempt not to have to shut down the whole project, SSBD needs some restrictions, which I will lay out here:
- Only one character per person may be uploaded per week.
- Only one stage, item, assist trophy, or Pokemon may be uploaded per person per every 3 days.
- Each character may have an image for the infobox, a head icon, a costume pallet, and a universe icon (if necessary) uploaded. Any other images will not be allowed.
- The Palutena's Guidance page will be abolished: that information is to go on the relevant character's page.
- Universe pages will be abolished. They're overkill.
The rules here are not to take effect until a community consensus is reached.

I would say the boxing ring titles should go before Palutena's Guidance, if just because that page is much larger and less notable. I'd rather be able to read all of the Palutena's Guidances in one place than all of the clever nicknames.
Besides that, I'm cool with this. That's basically what I was doing anyway. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 21:52, 14 January 2016 (EST)
- I'm honestly okay with this. Things are going too far and there needs to be rules in place. If successful, I vote we put the rules on the base SSBD page. Disaster Flare (talk) 21:53, 14 January 2016 (EST)
For the images, can we make an exception with this one? I used it because this character's special moveset technically consists of 4 characters in one, and using that image to represent them seems much better than adding tons of links to the page (and without it, the paragraph describing their traits becomes a tedious wall of text). DracoRex the Dino King (RAWR!) 21:59, 14 January 2016 (EST)
(edit conflict) Oh also, I don't intend on making anyone take down anything that already exists, besides the Palutena's Guidance page, which, Nutta, is honestly just one more useless unnecessary edit for each character, and that's why I don't want it. Also, yeah that boxing ring page will have to go also. Serpent King 22:00, 14 January 2016 (EST)
@DracoRexKing: yes that's fine, but please do not repeat. Serpent King 22:02, 14 January 2016 (EST)
- Ok, I'm not planning to do any more characters anyway. DracoRex the Dino King (RAWR!) 22:03, 14 January 2016 (EST)
I still think keeping Palutena's Guidance isn't unreasonable. It's not mandatory, and it's better to read it all at once than go from page to page. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 22:03, 14 January 2016 (EST)
- Question. Does the per person thing also apply to stages/Assist Trophies/Pokémon? Disaster Flare (talk) 22:10, 14 January 2016 (EST)

(Reset indent) Seeing as how there are currently only two universe pages, I find 5 unnecessary. Other than that, considering how all I really do at this point is minor edits, I'm fine with 1-3 (as, per Nutta, I also find Palutena's Guidance not unnecessary). Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 22:21, 14 January 2016 (EST)
- As stated above, I have no intention of making anyone delete existing content barring the boxing ring and guidance pages. I just don't want any more universe pages... they are just simply overkill... Serpent King 22:25, 14 January 2016 (EST)
- As it stands now, to my current knowledge, only one more is planned. And yes, I get that you don't want anything deleted. Boxing Ring, I'm fine with, but in my personal opinion, Palutena's Guidance should stay. It's like saying this needs to go. Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 22:27, 14 January 2016 (EST)
- I am just trying to reduce edits per character. Serpent King 22:30, 14 January 2016 (EST)
- Yes, and I completely understand that. (Frankly, I've been meaning to get to mainspace edits but I just haven't seen much for me to do because everyone else does everything.) Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 22:32, 14 January 2016 (EST)
- Honestly I'd be okay with the RWBY universe page being deleted if felt absolutely necessary, but I do plan on using that Yang icon for my nav template in place of the head icons, along with the other characters as well. In addition to this, as it stands right now, I only have two more characters planned, so unless something changes, I may be dropping out of SSBD after those two are done. Disaster Flare (talk) 22:51, 14 January 2016 (EST)

(Reset indent) On that note, I only have one more character planned, and as I said before, all I really do is add minor obscure references made outside of the main moveset. Granted, yes, I could do those in chunks, and I could frankly use some more mainspace time (in fact, I currently have a plan for 13 new images for the mainspace tomorrow), but as it stands now, everyone except for Nutta is pretty much wrapped up. Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 22:55, 14 January 2016 (EST)
- And most of those characters I would be fine with leaving out. Basically once I get Isabelle, Keeby/Gooey, Sohma House, and Elsa's Ice Palaca out I'm done. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 22:59, 14 January 2016 (EST)
- That's probably the wisest decision, Nutta. Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 23:00, 14 January 2016 (EST)
That said, to my understanding, we now have consensus over rules 1-3. 4 and 5 remain in argument; 4 with the reason that it should be kept as something to the side that's fun and humorous, and 5 with the reason that, while it should go in effect, the ones that do stand now should stay. If anyone has anything to say against that, let him speak now or forever hold his peace. Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 23:18, 14 January 2016 (EST)
I wanted to give a reminder, as I pointed out elsewhere, that you can use non-locally hosted images to reduce clutter. There's no need to make userpages with heavy on-site image hosting, clogging Recent Changes in the process. Miles (talk) 23:35, 14 January 2016 (EST)
- I still feel uploading should be an option for someone who can't find the proper resources on proper sites to do that, or in the cases of costume pics, it's kinda necessary to upload them here at times. Disaster Flare (talk) 23:37, 14 January 2016 (EST)
I agree with points 1-4. However, if I make a universe page and just don't call it SSBD, what happens then? I say this because I was planning on making one. I definitely agree though that there's been way to much focus on SSBD, what with all the competitive articles that need improvements or creation. Anyone can and should work on that, regardless of how uninteresting it may be. As for the point about offsite hosting, could I use Photobucket to do that, and more importantly, would it work? I always have problems making infoboxes. John PK SMAAAASH!! 23:41, 14 January 2016 (EST)
- I wouldn't say anyone can do the competitive articles, since it requires knowledge that several users (including myself) do not have. There is other stuff that needs to be done, though. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 10:55, 15 January 2016 (EST)
- You could just do what I do and go around the wiki exploring and seeing what needs to be done. Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 11:04, 15 January 2016 (EST)
- My knowledge of competitive Smash comes primarily from making and working on the competitive smasher articles on the wiki. All that needs to be done is click "What links here" on the pages in quickly and filling in the blanks. Occasionally, you may have to search a results thread on SmashBoards or another website. It's really not that difficult. John PK SMAAAASH!! 12:39, 15 January 2016 (EST)
I'm okay with these rules (except for #4, obviously). This and Word exist for a reason, after all. Drill Blaster Mark 2 (talk) 12:38, 15 January 2016 (EST)
So far it seems like mostly consensus in support of 1-3 and 5 (John's only concern about 5 isn't really relevant since the rules don't apply to non-SSBD, which leaves Aidan as the only user who disagrees with 5), and mostly consensus against 4 (SK is the only one outright in support of it; everyone else is either staying out of the discussion or are openly against it). So... ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 23:51, 17 January 2016 (EST)
- I don't necessarily disagree with 5; yes, I think that, at this point, universe pages would be overkill, but I believe the ones that are up now should stay. Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 00:12, 18 January 2016 (EST)
So, the Palutena's Guidance case is pretty much decided (I'm against its deletion too), but what about the Boxing Ring page? DracoRex the Dino King (RAWR!) 10:35, 18 January 2016 (EST)
- SK said that had to go too, and I'm fine with that. Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 10:39, 18 January 2016 (EST)
- Should we move the aliases to the respective characters' pages then? DracoRex the Dino King (RAWR!) 10:43, 18 January 2016 (EST)
- I suppose that would make sense. But I'll leave it to the creators of the character pages to put it on there (i.e., I take care of Wendy and Shadow, whereas you take care of Genghis Rex and Bullzeye). Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 10:46, 18 January 2016 (EST)
- I'd say if you have one you llike feel free to put it there, if not don't feel obligated to. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 14:59, 18 January 2016 (EST)
- Well I've copied down all of my stuff from Boxing Ring and PG on the computer, so at this point I don't care what happens to the pages. Disaster Flare (talk) 15:20, 18 January 2016 (EST)

So we have four users opposing removal of PG, two in support of it, one neutral, and one unclear (Miles). Is that consensus? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 16:36, 18 January 2016 (EST)
I suggest that once a release date is announced for Corrinnetta, we completely stop Project Dream edits until a week or so after they're released. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 16:51, 20 January 2016 (EST)

- ...Wait. Are you sure you don't mean "once Corinnetta releases"? Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 17:56, 20 January 2016 (EST)
- No, I meant when a release date is announced. That'll likely come with leaks and maybe extra footage, and worst case scenario we have a few weeks of doing no SSBD for no reason. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 22:38, 20 January 2016 (EST)

These guidelines seem mostly fine, but I would extend the wait between adding stages to one week and making it not depend on the item pages. It seems kinda arbitrary to lump the item stuff and stage stuff together. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 10:27, 23 January 2016 (EST)
- I think it's because those are less common. The main focus of Project Dream is fighters, so people don't make as many assist trophies, stages, items, etc. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 11:51, 23 January 2016 (EST)
Reminder that Project Dream edits should be stopped (or at least highly limited) until... let's say February 10th, we can change it if we get all the information sooner than I expect. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 23:08, 30 January 2016 (EST)
- Would it be alright for me to start working on a character now? I realize it's not quite the tenth, but we seem to have finished the Corrinetta craze, and frankly, I'm a bit bored at the moment. I suppose I don't actually need to save anything to work on a character, but were I to do an acceptable amount, I'd like to be able to save it. ScizorSteelix 20:53, 8 February 2016 (EST)
