The True All-Star Battle (ホントのオールスター戦, The REAL All-Star Battle) is the 21st and last co-op event match out of a total of 21 in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In this event, the player has to KO the entire playable cast (minimum all 35 characters) in Brawl. The cast is fought in order of which Smash game they appeared in and whether or not they're secret. Samus or Zero Suit Samus will appear (they are still fought in the same order), Zelda or Sheik will be fought and the Pokémon Trainer will only fight with one Pokémon. Both players have one stock and if one player gets KO'd, the other player can still continue until being KO'd or clearing the event. As would be expected, the opponents are at a lower handicap than the players and are particularly vulnerable to attacks with high base knockback.
Trivia
- Although the event's background shows Final Destination, the battle is fought on the Battlefield.
- The music for this event is Menu 1, which is unusual because it normally only plays on the menu screen and in The Subspace Emissary.
- This is also a reason why this is the only other co-op event other than the 20th and penultimate co-op event (Co-Op Event 20: The Final Battle for Two) takes place on a Super Smash Bros. universe stage. The 20th co-op event (Co-Op Event 21: The Final Battle for Two) takes place on Final Destination; this one (which is the 21st and final co-op event; Co-Op Event 21: The True All Star-Battle) takes place on Battlefield. This is likely done so the two players in Co-op mode can see both Super Smash Bros. universe stages at least once. The 20th and penultimate co-op event is on Final Destination; the 21st and final one is on Battlefield.
- The opponents are fought in the order of their first appearances in the Super Smash Bros. series: SSB, Melee and Brawl (starters followed by unlockables, newcomers followed by guest characters Snake and Sonic). Strangely enough, Wolf is the very last opponent to be fought possibly due to him usually being the last character most players will unlock.
- Although Zero Suit Samus didn't appear in the original Super Smash Bros., she may appear instead of the original version with the Power Suit.
