A stage jump refers to the act of travelling under a stage with a character and returning on the other side, performable on any stage that has a considerably large platform that can be skipped under. In general, it's easier to perform with good jumpers such as Jigglypuff, or characters with exploitable physics such as Meta Knight, who may utilise gliding. Stage jumps may be used to surprise an opponent, or simply for recreational purposes. Stage jumps are sometimes performed in competitive play to avoid pressure while the opponent is edgeguarding. The Hyrule Jump is perhaps the most popular stage jump.
New Pork City jump
It is possible to jump from the rightmost platform of New Pork City, under the stage, and up through the breakable platform. This is similar, but more difficult than, the Hyrule Jump as both a good horizontal and vertical recovery are required.
Characters that can perform the New Pork City jump
- Meta Knight, Pit, and Charizard, using their glides.
- Kirby, King Dedede, and Jigglypuff, using their multiple jumps (and possibly their up specials or Pound in Jigglypuff's case).
- Ike, by using a fully-charged forward smash while standing on a rolling crate, combined with Aether.
- Ganondorf, by exploiting the vacuum properties of his up tilt on a rolling crate.
- Luigi, by using Green Missile, Luigi Cyclone, and possibly Super Jump Punch.
- Snake, Link, and Toon Link, with their bomb recoveries.
- R.O.B., using Robo Burner.
- Marth, by timing a fully charged Shield Breaker followed by Dolphin Slash.
- Yoshi, by using his midair jump, and a single Egg Throw to add vertical height.
- Diddy Kong, by using a Monkey Flip and Rocketbarrel Boost.
- Peach, by using her float then Peach Bomber followed by Peach Parasol.
- Wario, by using his bike to get his second jump back, then using a fully-charged Wario Waft and finishing up with Corkscrew.
- Lucas, by using Magnet Pull and his midair jump.
- Sonic, by using Spin Dash, midair jumping, and using Spring Jump
- Lucario, by stalling with its down aerial the bottom edge on the very left, double jumping to the left, down aerial stalling again, and using ExtremeSpeed.
- Samus, by using one or two bomb jumps, her double jump, and Screw Attack or her zair (the latter requires the platform to be destroyed).
- Zero Suit Samus by using her double jump, Flip Jump, and Plasma Wire. (Platform must be destroyed)
- Wolf by using his double jump, then Fire Wolf aimed northwest.
- Ice Climbers, by using their double jump timed correctly and Belay timed correctly. (Platform must be destroyed; only lead climber will survive)
- Mr. Game and Watch, by using Fire timed correctly.
- Ness, by using his midair jump and PK Thunder.
- Fox, by using his midair jump with his forward aerial and a properly angled Fire Fox
Final Destination jump
A jump similar to the Hyrule Jump can be employed on Final Destination in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where certain characters can travel under the stage from one end and emerge at the other. The Final Destination jump can be used as a method to surprise one's opponent. It is often used as a test of a character's horizontal recovery. For example, Meta Knight's ability to perform the jump several ways is an indicator of his above-par recovery.
Characters that can perform the Final Destination jump
- Charizard - Charizard glides under the stage and uses Fly.
- Diddy Kong - Diddy Kong can use his Peanut Popgun to propel him backward, Monkey Flip, his midair jump, and then Rocketbarrel Boost to grab the ledge.
- Ice Climbers - A midair jump, followed by Squall Hammer. Requires both Climbers.
- Jigglypuff - Jigglypuff can use its midair jumps in conjunction with Pound to reach the other end of the stage. One of the easiest characters to do the jump.
- Kirby - Kirby uses his five midair jumps to go under the stage and finishes with Final Cutter. He can also copy other characters' neutral special moves and use them to help him recover.
- Link - Link can use his Bomb for Bomb recovery, though this only works at higher percentages.
- Lucario- Lucario can aim ExtremeSpeed into the wall to wall cling, then wall jump up above the ledge, allowing it to land on the stage.
- Lucas- Lucas can use his Magnet Pull, midair jump, and finish with a PK Thunder 2.
- Luigi - Luigi uses a charged Green Missile off of one edge of the stage. He will then use a midair jump, followed by a Luigi Cyclone to propel him upwards and a Super Jump Punch to reach the other edge.
- Marth - Marth can B-reverse a fully charged Shield Breaker, double jump and use the first hit of Dancing Blade, then aim Dolphin Slash horizontally upwards.
- Meta Knight - Meta Knight can use a combination of his glides, midair jumps, and special moves to perform the jump.
- Peach - Peach can float under the stage and then reach the ledge with a Peach Parasol.
- Pikachu - Pikachu can use Skull Bash to get it across under the stage. It then follows up with Quick Attack to reach the edge.
- Pit - Can use his wings which provides him with three midair jumps and with the ability to glide. Wings of Icarus is also useful for the jump.
- R.O.B.- A jump and Robo Burner is enough for R.O.B. to perform this.
- Samus - Samus can use Bomb to extend her horizontal recovery and finish with Screw Attack.
- Toon Link - Same as Link, but can do at 0 percent due to his better air speed and distance of Spin Attack.
- Snake - Snake can use C4 to refresh his Cypher recovery.
- Sonic - Can use Homing Attack on the base of the stage and Spin Dash to go under most of the stage, and then Spring Jump.
- Wario (and as Wario-Man) - Wario can use his great air speed and Wario Bike to get under the stage, and then finish up with Corkscrew.
- Yoshi - Uses multiple Egg Throws under the stage to propel him horizontally, followed by his midair jump, then another Egg Throw.
- Zero Suit Samus - A Flip Jump underneath the stage, followed by a midair jump and Plasma Wire.
