Rosalina (ロゼッタ, Rosetta) is a character from the Mario series. She was confirmed as a newcomer to Super Smash Bros. 4 on December 18, 2013 via Nintendo Direct.
Character Description
Rosalina has appeared in both Super Mario Galaxy games in non-playable roles. In the first Super Mario Galaxy, she runs the Comet Observatory, which is the home of herself and the Lumas. It passes by her home planet every one hundred years. Her back story is explained in a storybook read to the lumas at various points during the game. Rosalina also appears in Super Mario Galaxy 2 after the player collects all 242 Power Stars. She first appeared as a playable character in Mario Kart Wii and is playable in all subsequent Mario Kart games. However, her first playable appearance in a mainseries Mario platformer was Super Mario 3D World.

As a playable character
Rosalina is a newcomer in Super Smash Bros. 4. She uses a Luma, acting similar to a Pikmin, for a variety of her attacks.
Trophies
- Rosalina
- The mysterious Rosalina lives in the Comet Observatory with the Lumas. She first traveled with them in search of their mother. In Smash Bros., Rosalina and Luma can fight in different places at the same time. If you can trap someone between Rosalina and Luma, you'll be able to unleash incredible damage!
- Rosalina (Alt.)
- Rosalina can pull in items and projectiles around her with her Gravitational Pull move. Her up special Launch Star is a diagonal jump and, though harmless, it has exceptional range. You also have some control over Rosalina's trajectory when she uses it.

Trivia
- Peach and Rosalina are the only females from a universe with multiple females who are not alternate forms of the same character.
- This is not including the female form of Robin, who is a separate being from Lucina.
- Super Smash Bros. 4 is the first game where Rosalina is a playable character from the beginning and not unlockable.
- Also unique to this game is Rosalina's weight status; in all Mario games, Rosalina is considered a heavyweight (as opposed to her lightweight status in Smash 4).
- Attendants at the 2007 Whobby Game Festival claimed to have seen an Assist Trophy of Rosalina in a demo of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. No evidence, however, has been seen verifying the veracity of this claim, and there is no leftover data in the final game that indicates Rosalina was intended to be an assist trophy.
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U marked the first time Kerri Kane voiced Rosalina in a Wii U appearance instead of Laura Faye Smith, due to consistency reasons.
