What about an explanation on the comboes...? – Smiddle / talk 18:36, January 9, 2007 (GMT)

Edits to be made

All of the "you"s got removed, so the cleanup tag can be removed. "a least" is at one point when it should be "at least", soon followed by an unneeded comma. I can't edit yet, so thought I'd point those out. Tombstoner1 (talk) 21:57, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

DUDE!

Who ereased my section! Zmario 08:51, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Wiki articles can and will be edited. If you don't want your stuff to be changed, then don't contribute. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 07:31, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Its not changed if the whole section is erased. Zmario (talk) 11:21, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
You must be talking about this one. I don't think it matters who erased it--anyone could and should have, as you do not have a Falcon Punch combo named after you, sorry. --RJM Talk 23:35, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

It was erased because 1) the combo isn't recognized by anyone other than you, 2) it was WAY too conditional to be of any use, and 3) it only works in training mode. What's the point of a combo if I can't actually use it. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 03:32, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Can I put a video on youtube about it? THEN will it be official? Zmario (talk) 17:29, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

[1] Thats my Falcon Punch on youtube. Zmario (talk) 13:00, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Nope, the combo is still useless and unknown. Sorry. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 21:14, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Falcon... PAWNCH!

Seriously. Why don't we acknowledge the fact that the video of the Mega Falcon Punch is super popular and has spawned several parodies and then post one or two of the parodies. And don't say it's not popular, because Over 1,000,000 views sounds like popular to me. --Arceus3000 (talk) 14:43, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Never heard of it. --RJM Talk 01:38, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Read the article. There's a link to the video there. That's its only mention in the article, though. --Arceus3000 (talk) 01:33, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
I saw that video on Youtube... - Amycats2 (talk) 01:39, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
In case you haven't noticed, this isn't YouTube/Uncyclopedia/#chan. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 01:47, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Kinda hard to believe theres al these weird memes on this wiki and yet there is not one for Falcon Punch? Its gotta be the most popular meme about Smash. - Hatake91 (talk) 02:53, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
What memes on SmashWiki? The closest thing I can think of is Tires don exits. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 05:15, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
There is Tiers R 4 Queers! Zmario (talk) 14:55, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
No, there isn't. There is no article and there will NEVER be one for hate messages. People that edit that into articles get banned, in case you haven't noticed. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 21:49, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
What Smash Bros. related memes DO we have on here, anyway? The Final Fantasy Wiki has an entire article devoted to the "Spoony Bard" joke and that's also run by Wikia, so why don't we have many Smash Bros. memes on here? Arceus3000 (talk) 20:00, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
We sorta have meme articles. As long as it's not about anything that involves hate (TR4Q) or politically-incorrectness (Falcon PAUNCH and abortion), I think it's fair game. In fact, I'm rather surprised nobody has started an article about the "No items. Fox only. FINAL DESTINATION." meme. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 21:54, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
It's also worth pointing out that the kind of trash that makes it into other Wikias as legitimate article content is not necessarily a basis of comparison for the same level of quality and standards around here. --RJM Talk 20:56, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

I'm not saying we should have articles on offensive stuff, but I just want to say that not talking about bad things because there bad is called "denial"

"Strategies"

Did Falcon Punch get a lot faster in Brawl? Using a reverse Falcon Punch after retreating sounds like a tenuous strategy to me - at least it's something that would never work in Melee. I suggest we ax the strategies if it can be shown that no professional player would partake. MaskedMarth (t c) 03:25, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

I don't see the use for the "Strategies" section for Falcon Punch since I don't see any other special move with this section. ILoveWario (talk) 04:05, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Well I'm not so sure it needs to be done away with. Just because professional Falcons don't use it doesn't mean it can't be mentioned on a wiki that pertains to the general topic of Super Smash Bros. I mean, when I play Captain Falcon in a tournament(which is quite rare, as he is used as a mental tactic, or because I don't know who else I can use against my opponent) or in just a friendly, I tend to use the strategies listed in that section. Falcon Punch + Soccer Ball

I have seen a movie in which a Falcon Punched Soccer Ball caused 173% damage and was essentially a One-Hit KO. Does this happen in a standard game, or does the damage ratio have to be upped? And if it does happen without raising the damage ratio, is it worthy of mention in the article? 64.221.210.35 16:44, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

sound

in melee the falcon punch make a sound like the shriek of a bird of prey. is it woth noting? 201.41.5.196 18:22, March 19, 2010 (UTC)

Only in Melee, though. Anon 20:56, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
It's in Brawl, too. BNK [E|T|C] 21:36, August 15, 2010 (UTC)

What kind of Falcon punch is...

...:File:FalconCombo.gif|this? It does 29% damage.--Wolf rulez! WolfHeadSSBB.png The best! 14:04, 27 May 2011 (EDT)

That's a standard grounded reverse punch. Because it's not in training mode, the freshness bomus is applied, which causes it to deal 29.4% damage instead of the baseline 28%. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Researcher 14:52, 27 May 2011 (EDT)

Falcon Punch reversed.. in Melee?

True or False

The Falcon Punch can be reversed in Melee.

Write your answer below and explain why you chose that answer. Smashdude10 18:26, 1 February 2014 (EST)

"In Melee and Brawl, the player can perform a reverse neutral special move by tapping the control stick in the opposite direction they are facing right after they press 'B'.

In Brawl, this can be done on the ground as well. The technique is also pulled off in the same way as the reverse Falcon/Warlock Punch. The technique has a smaller window in Melee, thus is a bit harder to perform consistently."

Correct! The Falcon Punch can be reversed only in the air in Melee. Smashdude10 (talk) 20:07, 1 February 2014 (EST)

You still need to sign your posts. New talk page entries go at the bottom of the page. MegaTron1XDDecepticon.png 19:15, 1 February 2014 (EST)
True or false crap that you can confirm such as this are not meant for talk pages. Refrain from doing such things in the future. MegaTron1XDDecepticon.png 20:56, 1 February 2014 (EST)

Has anybody noticed the fact that it can be reversed in Melee is not in the Article??? Smashdude10 (talk) 15:35, 8 February 2014 (EST)

Was it not implied by it being a neutral special attack? MegaTron1XDDecepticon.png 20:35, 10 February 2014 (EST)

People wouldn't know that the Falcon Punch can be reversed because it's a neutral special, unless they went to the neutral special Article. They should be able to know here at this Article. Smashdude10 (talk) 19:04, 11 February 2014 (EST)

The article already does note that it can be reversed in Brawl, but not in Melee however. What is your point? Dots (talk) Link OoT Dots.PNG The Cutie 19:12, 11 February 2014 (EST)

That's my point. It should mention that it can be reversed in Melee. Smashdude10 (talk) 19:17, 11 February 2014 (EST)

What came first the Anime or the Smash Bros?

Didn't the anime come out in 2003, 4 years after Smash Bros? Why is it listed as the origin of the Falcon Punch then? 173.164.213.57 00:10, 22 April 2014 (EDT)

It doesn't, the origin explicitly states the Falcon Punch was an original creation of Smash. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 10:21, 22 April 2014 (EDT)

Unclear

This article is very unclean according to me; I don't edit the page and insert a Cleanup because of the people that would erase it. SmashBros (talk) 18:00, 22 September 2014 (EDT)

Smash Bros. Universe?

I see that the Falcon Punch is listed under the Super Smash Bros. Universe on the infobox, but the categories say it's from the F-Zero Universe. Which one is correct? Normally I'd just change the Universe to F-Zero, but since the move is not inspired by the F-Zero games, but instead taken from an early stage of development for Smash 64, it could technically still count as the Super Smash Bros. Universe. In addition, if it is from the SSB Universe, does this apply to his other special moves? I'd like some clarification before I make any edits. Apologies if this should have an obvious answer, I'm just not the best at picking up on these things. Mistiryshak (talk) 11:55, 12 October 2014 (EDT)

I, personally, would put both universes. This would apply to all of C. Falcon's moves, as well. Rtzxy SmashSig.jpeg Smashing! 11:57, 12 October 2014 (EDT)
That makes sense, I suppose. Would using both Universe apply to categories as well? Mistiryshak (talk) 12:19, 12 October 2014 (EDT)
I guess so, for consistency reasons. Rtzxy SmashSig.jpeg Smashing! 12:23, 12 October 2014 (EDT)
Alright, I'll start on that, then. Mistiryshak (talk) 12:24, 12 October 2014 (EDT)

Sound Check

To me, probably because I play Brawl, when I use Falcon Punch, he seems to say "Twelcone... PONCH!", and when Kirby uses it, it sounds like "Twencone... PANCH!". Have I lost my mind!? I am JigglyPurin. (talk) 22:40, 16 October 2014 (EDT)

They both say "Falcon Punch"; the reason for you're mishearing might be because both are voiced by Japanese people in all versions of the game(s). Also, I'm not sure if this specific case violates SW:TALK, but I suggest you read it, just for future reference. Rtzxy SmashSig.jpeg Smashing! 22:45, 16 October 2014 (EDT)
It's possible. But how can we be sure? I am JigglyPurin. (talk) 13:29, 18 October 2014 (EDT)
Capt. Falcon clearly says "Falcon Punch". Kirby also says "Falcon Punch", but with an accent. It's been confirmed by the Sound Test (and common knowledge). The reason is more speculative, however; the fact that they're both voiced by Japanese is the most popular theory, though, I wouldn't add it on the article. Custom move info location?

I added an info dump to the article, but I'm not sure if I put it in the right place. The page on custom specials indicates that info should be moved to the article on the default special. I would have put it under the "Customization" section, but it looked like it wasn't formatted for the depth of information I was trying to add. Is there a standard for this sort of thing?
