Article on Wikipedia Shulk

Shulk (シュルク, Shulk) is the main protagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles.

Character description

Shulk is an 18 year old level headed youth who likes to think things through and is very methodical in his approach to most situations. He is one of the few people able to wield the Monado, a special sword able to defeat the Mechon, due to the fact that he was one of the only known survivors on a previous expedition to retrieve the sacred weapon. He first acquires the sword when his home, Colony 9, is attacked by a group of Mechon led by Metal Face which leads to the death of his childhood friend Fiora. His first act upon acquiring the "destined weapon" is to fight for an end to the war with the Mechon as revenge for their attack on his colony.

As a playable character

Main article: Shulk (SSB4)

Shulk was leaked as a playable character three weeks before the release of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS on YouTube videos from a video used to rate the game by ESRB, before being officially confirmed on August 29th, 2014. Shulk uses the Monado as his weapon, and uses his various attacking arts.

On May 19th, 2014, before the leaks and his official reveal, Shulk's English voice actor, Adam Howden, had posted on his Twitter that he had done recording for a game he was not allowed to talk about.

NA: In Xenoblade Chronicles, this young lad's colony is attacked by the Mechon, so he and his friends set off to take them down. In Smash Bros., his Monado Arts let him change his specialization during battle. You can choose to boost a stat—his jump or attack, for example—but other stats might drop as a result, so choose wisely.

Shulk (Alt.)
NA: Shulk's up special Air Slash is an upward slash done during a jump. Press the button again quickly to launch opponents sideways. His side special Back Slash, on the other hand, is a downward swing with a very wide range, though using it leaves Shulk wide open. Try hitting foes from behind with this!
