SmashWiki:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive 5
The Administrators' noticeboard is intended to be a page to quickly alert the administrators to issues that need their attention.
To make a request or statement, create a new section and provide a neutral, precise summary of events with thought-out reasoning, and, if possible, links to any pages with relevant discussions. It is also a good idea to notify any users involved with the request with a link to the section on this page. Make sure to add new sections to the bottom.
Report vandals at the top of the following section labeled for such reports at the using {{IP|Username}}, where Username is the name of the user or the IP vandal's IP address.
For reporting similar and unacceptable usernames, report them here instead of on this page. This is done to keep the reports in one place, and because unacceptable usernames can be more subjective (unlike vandal/spam accounts), which may necessitate discussion (which the linked page will be more suited to handle).
Vandal/spam account reports
99.248.63.172 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) Repeatedly removing content from articles. Has also previously done the same thing before. Scr7(talk · contribs) 07:25, 1 September 2014 (EDT)
147.69.42.19 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) seems to be a Xyro hater; he has been repeatedly removing content from Smasher:Xyro and blanked WHOBO 4. DarkFox01Check my edits out! 01:25, 31 August 2014 (EDT)
WaluigiFag (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) not only has a unacceptable username, but this user has also been vandalizing Princess Peach's page. Berrenta (talk) 21:33, 23 August 2014 (EDT)
Luigi7381 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) has added some nonsense to some pages. Berrenta (talk) 20:25, 23 August 2014 (EDT)
Mr.Muffins (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) Repeatedly adding blatantly false information, despite being reverted multiple times. Scr7(talk · contribs) 13:10, 24 July 2014 (EDT)
98.177.173.91 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) vandalism. BRAWLS OF FURY 00:45, 27 June 2014 (EDT)
- I see a pattern and it's likely that this guy will definitely be coming back once another 3 months passes. Mind if we, I guess, make his ban longer or permaban him? Dots (talk) The Pokéball 01:04, 27 June 2014 (EDT)
- I think the reason for why we don't permaban IPs, even if they are vandals, is because IP addresses can change. BRAWLS OF FURY 01:13, 27 June 2014 (EDT)
- True, but this one seems to be the same one every time. .-. Dots (talk) The Operator 10:19, 27 June 2014 (EDT)

Or we could do this:
- Permaban the IP.
- Give him the ability to create an account.
- If he creates spam/vandal accounts, then ban his account creation power for however long you want.
- If we see that a positive contributor comes from the IP (which I highly doubt), then unblock the IP.

- Ooooooooorrrrrrrrrrr not bother permabanning the IP. Vandals vandalize for fun, and if the person has nothing better to do than vandalize, than whatever. We just block them again if they come back. The repeat vandal has come back multiple times, and giving them an option to create an account when the person doing the vandalizing was willing to just occasionally drop in and vandalize is just a terrible idea when logically, they would just go and vandalize. Repeat vandals are surprisingly not that hard to deal with when you have rollbackers online very often. Permabanning IPs is also a bad decision because people can, *gasp*, change IPs. If some reasonable person ever decides to use the IP to edit, then the 3 month block is more than enough time for said reasonable person to have gained control of the IP instead. You're making a situation far more complicated than it has to be. If a vandal comes, they can be dealt with. MegaTron1XD 18:42, 10 July 2014 (EDT)
Johansen (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) - Blatant ZeRo hater. Has vandalized his page several times. Give this guy the boot. --Timson622222 (talk) 13:31, 15 July 2014 (EDT)

Excessive editing in userpage
The user Smash is fun has made very few mainspace edits, and made a vast majority of his edits in his own userpage. Can someone remind him? Berrenta (talk) 15:12, 3 August 2014 (EDT)
- You can also warn him yourself too. It doesn't have to be an admin that has to do it. Dots (talk) The Piano 16:12, 3 August 2014 (EDT)
On an unrelated note, I wish we were allowed to report users who might risk getting probation as well, like we can remind the admins to probate someone. Dots (talk) The Shiny red nose 23:10, 14 August 2014 (EDT)
Move request
The official name of the emulator is "Project64k", not Project 64k as suggested by the article's title. As such, the page should be moved over Project64k.

- Thank you very much.
Protection request
Can the List of rumors page be protected? An anonymous user keeps adding back a rumor that has been continuously taken down. Berrenta (talk) 16:55, 20 August 2014 (EDT)
- It was already done right before you said this. :P MeatBall104; That's What She Said! 16:57, 20 August 2014 (EDT)
- Just noticed, lol. Well, this request can be disregarded, then. Berrenta (talk) 16:58, 20 August 2014 (EDT)
Possible sockpuppet
Luigi738 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) is likely a sock of Luigi7381 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS). The user is even using a tag he isn't supposed to use on his sock's page. Berrenta (talk) 18:22, 25 August 2014 (EDT)
- Noticed and looking into. Toomai Glittershine The Sharp 18:23, 25 August 2014 (EDT)
