- Shulk is formally confirmed as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4. Gaur Plain is revealed as a stage in both versions of the game.

- A 5-minute trailer and two 30-second commercials are released for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, confirming Corneria, Yoshi's Island, Distant Planet, and Mushroomy Kingdom as returning stages in that version and unintentionally revealing Ganondorf as a returning playable character. Updates to the official website reveal Dr. Kawashima and Phosphora as Assist Trophy characters in at least Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. A soundtrack release for the two versions is also announced.

- Gameplay footage of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, confirming Ganondorf, Bowser Jr., and Shulk as playable characters, leaks onto YouTube, correlating with some previously leaked screenshots.

- At Sumabato X Final, Edge, Aki, and Choco take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Brawl singles, and Edge and Aki win Brawl doubles.
