The quotes...

The Simpsons trivia
Honestly, I think that information would be more suited for a page about the Smash series in popular culture like Zelda cameos. Magiciandude (talk) 02:01, 16 September 2012 (EDT)
- The trivia is about this specific game though, and I don't think there's enough material to create an article devoted to references outside the series. Omega Tyrant 03:08, 16 September 2012 (EDT)
- I'm not even a member of this wiki and I still realize that this belongs on a Simpsons wiki, at best. By allowing this, if Jay Leno mentions the game in a monologue, that deserves a record in the Trivia section. Seems... wrong, doesn't it? --76.6.209.146 05:14, 16 September 2012 (EDT)
Are we sure the trivia is real? I watched the episode online and didn't see the reference. The Simpsons Wiki didn't have it (and they have a page devoted to the episode's references), nor did a straight Google search yield results. So unless somebody sees what I seem to be missing, I suggest we take it down. JamesHeart123 06:16, 16 September 2012 (EDT)
- I got the information from Drakon64, you might want to ask him. Toast ltimatum 07:22, 16 September 2012 (EDT)
- Didn't think I would be back but the links to Wikisimpsons drew me back here, and to find this discussion. The info is false, I have just re-watched the scene to find nothing. We have had several other people watch the scene to find nothing about a SSB parody game. Seems fake to me. Solar Dragon (Talk • Contribs.) 17:29, 16 September 2012 (EDT)
- I shall remove it then. Toomai Glittershine The Keymaster 17:33, 16 September 2012 (EDT)

Redirect
This page links to Rumor, which should link to List of rumors to avoid a redirect. Red (talk) 14:24, 5 December 2012 (EST)
- There's generally nothing wrong with linking to redirects; I'm personally not convinced this case is special. Toomai Glittershine The Golden 16:41, 5 December 2012 (EST)
Released on which platforms?
I'm wondering if it's going to release for Wii too. It probably will, because some people would want to play the game, although they don't have a 3DS or a WiiU.Sandvich9 (talk) 16:46, 28 January 2013 (EST)
- Except it won't, because the game is designed to run in 60fps with a strong online service on the Wii U, while the 3DS version has different dimensions, slightly different graphics, and big games like Super Smash Bros. are used to make those people buy the superior systems to what they currently own. Development has already begun on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, Sakurai probably have told us if they were making it for Wii. So get yourself down to the store and get a Wii U, Nintendo won't satisfy you if you don't. Heck, by the time SSB4 comes out, the Wii will be super-out-of-date. Toast ltimatum 17:14, 28 January 2013 (EST)
Pictures
Sakurai said that game's pictures will be released by June 11 to June 13, by then we should get some information about the game. Marioisawesome118 20:21, 8 March 2013 (EST)
Screenshots and trailer
On January 2013, Sakurai announced that the first screenshots of the game would be shown at E3 this year on June 11 to June 13. Rumors about a trailer have also been spreading. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr.Santana Lopez (talk • contribs) 10:54, 13 March 2013 (EDT)

Change to semi-protected
It's just a week to when we expect to get heaps of info. Should we downgrade this article's protection to allow autoconfirmeds? Toomai Glittershine The Steppin' 12:11, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
- I still wouldn't trust such a large amount of people editing it, because this page would turn out to be a mess. Leave it to only a few. Awesome Cardinal 2000 16:45, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
- Seconding Cardinal on this one. Better to have the admins filtering the content onto this page and potentially others that may be created. It's not like we won't be around. We can probably lower the protection to auto-confirmed a bit after E3. Miles (talk) 16:52, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
- I hate restrictions on editors like this, but I, reluctantly, agree that the page should be fully protected during the E3 period, but should be downgraded to semi-protected immediately afterward. DoctorPain99 18:08, 4 June 2013 (EDT)

Sakurai confirmed it's gonna be a video

Nintendo will not be at E3
[2] That means no SSB4 trailer. Terrible is May Flowers 16:18, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
- They're still having a Nintendo Direct during E3, in place of the standard presentations at the show. The SSB4 trailer being part of that Direct was confirmed by Sakurai himself on Twitter. Miles (talk) 16:36, 10 June 2013 (EDT)

What the hell is this? Please tell me this isn't real, otherwise, I'm not buying this game. --Lasifer (talk) 15:01, 11 June 2013 (EDT)
- I'd buy the game as long as you don't have to play as her to unlock any other secret characters or stages. Mr. Anontalk 15:03, 11 June 2013 (EDT)

Punch-Out Stage?
I'm thinking the new "Unknown stadium" stage is actually a Punch-Out stage based off the 2009 installment in the same franchise, take a look- [6] [7] Only difference in the mat is that the central logo is now the Smash logo. So what do you guys think? Could this be a subtle hint to Little Mac's appearance in this installment? --Lasifer (talk) 22:41, 11 June 2013 (EDT)
- The color of the mat and the colors on the ropes as well as the color placement are exactly the same, Logo in the center aside, I think it's likely for Little Mac to seal a spot. --Lasifer (talk) 01:10, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
Stage excluvises
It isn't mentioned in the article that Sakurai said in the video the stage differences will be based on the console and handheld games for the Wii U and 3DS respecitvely. Magiciandude (talk) 00:10, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
Game name
Isn't the name of the game(s) officially Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS? - Ceci n’est pas un Smiddle. 04:03, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
- Yeah, the games are not "untitled." On Nintendo's E3 site, "X"'s name is labeled to be tentative, but Super Smash Bros. is not. And in the developer direct, Sakurai specifically states that the handheld version is called "Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS" and that the home console version is called "Super Smash Bros. for Wii U." There is absolutely no indication whatsoever that those are anything but the games' official titles.GreenMamba (talk) 13:09, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
- I find myself a bit disappointed with those names, but that's how it is. Although, if the games are widely referred to as simply SSB4 by the smashing community, this could be kept as its title. - Ceci n’est pas un Smiddle. 16:36, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
- Elsewhere on Nintendo's E3 site, the versions are simply referred to as "Super Smash Bros." Sounds like placeholder names to me, though we can't be sure for the time being. Miles (talk) 16:43, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
- These are the final names. Sakurai has confirmed it to IGN. Magiciandude (talk) 21:18, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
- SSB4 refers to both for now, regardless of official name. MegaTron1XD 21:34, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
- Conjecture titles should never be in place of official titles. Wikipedia has it listed as Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, and this article should follow suit as well. Unless you want it to call it Super Smash Bros. (2014 game). But I digress, we should be using the official name by Nintendo, not fan names. Magiciandude (talk) 21:49, 13 June 2013 (EDT)

- Besides that, Smash 4 is the common name, and much easier (and simpler) to use than the needlessly long Wikipedia title. Eventually the WiiU and 3DS games will get their own article (where they can go by their official titles), where this will then be a disambiguation page for them. For now though, this title is fine for an article that refers to both games. Omega Tyrant 22:36, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
Protection
I propose, now that the biggest introductory infodump at E3 is over, that we do two things regarding protection:
- Reduce this article's protection to autoconfirmed, and
- Increase the "Character (SSB4)" pages' protection to autoconfirmed.
Thoughts? Miles (talk) 01:08, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
- I'm in support of this. The character pages are attracting too much speculation, and the users can now be trusted enough to edit this article without adding speculation and crap of the ilk. Omega Tyrant 01:43, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
