Physic changes

  • Wavedashing and L-canceling returned.
  • Increased hitstun.
  • Forward smashing with the Home Run Bat takes much less start up time.

Character changes from SSBB to SSB4 (buffs and nerfs)

Mario

Buffs

  • Down smash has significantly increased power.
  • Up smash is slightly stronger.
  • Mario Tornado is his Down Special again and now gains hight if the B button is push quickly.
  • The hight gained from Super Jump Punch was increased.

Donkey Kong

Buffs

  • Giant Punch is stronger along with improved reach.
  • Fair meteor smash is slightly stronger.

Nerfs

  • Spinning Kong travels slightly less vertically.

  • Spin Attack travels farther horizontally and vertically.
  • Air speed was increased.
  • Up smash is more powerful.

Samus

Buffs

  • Charge Shot is significantly stronger and now KOs under 100%.
  • Up air deals slightly more damage.
  • Smash attacks are stronger.

Yoshi

Buffs

  • Fair meteor smash is stronger.
  • Down air's damage potential was significantly increased from 35% to 55%.
  • Smash attacks are stronger.
  • Egg roll is a more useful recovery move.

Kirby

Buffs

  • A general increase in the power and speed of his attacks.
  • Air speed was significantly increased and is now the 3rd fastest.
  • Down tilt can now semi-spike.
  • Back air is now fast enough to perform twice in a single short hop. It's hitbox also lasts longer (as long as his feet are out).
  • Jump hight and speed was significantly increased and is now the 3rd highest.
  • The first 2 kicks of his forward air have low set knockback, meaning that it always link in to each other at any damage.
  • Kirby can Kirbycide with large and heavy characters again.
  • Kirby can now wall jump.
  • Walking and dashing speed was increased.
  • Forward smash and down throw have less ending lag.
  • Vertical endurance was slightly improved.
  • Kirby's back air is now a Wall of Pain technique.
  • Traction was increased.
  • Final Cutter travels slightly farther horizontally, and much more vertically and can now grab a ledge from behind. The meteor smash produced has knockback scaling (38.57). It also grants him invincibility frames when used. It now has a new hitbox just before descent, and it no longer makes Kirby helpless.

Fox

Buffs

  • A general increase in the power of his attacks.
  • Air speed was slightly increased.
  • Back air has less ending lag.
  • Fox sustains less knockback in SSB4.

Pikachu

Buffs

  • Down aerial can now meteor smash.
  • Up smash is much stronger and is the 5th strongest.
  • Up air can now semi-spike and is stronger.

Luigi

Buffs

  • Down air is much easier to meteor smash with.
  • The hight gained from Super Jump Punch was increased.
  • Forward air is stronger.
  • Down tilt is easier to meteor smash.

Nerfs

  • Nair was weakened significantly.

Captain Falcon

Buffs

  • A general increase in the power and speed of his attacks.
  • Airborne Falcon Kick can now meteor smash.
  • Vertical endurance was slightly improved.
  • Traction was improved.

Ness

Buffs

  • A general increase in the speed and reach of his attacks.
  • Up throw is slightly stonger.

Jigglypuff

Buffs

  • Smashes are more powerful.
  • Rest is significantly stronger (it can now KO under 25%).
  • Up and back airs are stronger.
  • Down air can now meteor smash at higher damages.
  • Jigglypuff's Wall of Pain is notably more effective.

Falco

Buffs

  • Forward smash and down tilt are stronger.
  • Dashing speed was increased.
  • Air speed was slightly increased.
  • Fire Bird travels slightly farther, improving it's recovery capabilities.
  • Back air is slightly stronger and is now fast enough to preform twice in a single short hop.

Marth

Buffs

  • A longer sword has resulted in a general increase in the reach of his attacks.
  • Dashing speed and grab range were slightly increased.
  • The sweetspot size of Marth's attacks (the tipper) was increased. (most notably down aerial)
  • Aerials are stronger when tipped.

Bowser

Buffs

  • Forward smash is slightly stonger.
  • Whirling Fortrest travels farther horizontally.

Nerfs

  • A general decrease in the speed of his attacks.
  • Flying Slam can now be escaped.

Ganondorf

Buffs

  • Up tilt is stronger.
  • Up and down smashes are stronger.
  • Forward smash has increased damage and knockback when angled upward.
  • Back air is stronger.
  • Dark Dive deals more damage and has increased power.

Ike

Buffs

  • New up aerial has significantly improved vertical reach.
  • Down air meteor smash is slightly stronger.

Wolf

Nerfs

  • Air speed was reduced.
