Ladies and gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters, items, stages or anything else from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll but functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that round. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, or the stage considered more "fair", or the combatant with the most fans - just vote if you are a total fanboy of the participant. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you don't have to have an account to vote! Though new requests for fights can no longer be made, voting on already existing requests can be done here.

The Rules

  1. When voting, you can give a brief comment on why you voted the way you did, or you can just leave your signature.
  2. You can only vote once. Any multiple votes will be removed.
  3. Put a # before your vote to facilitate the vote counting.
  4. Type ~~~~ after your vote to sign it, whether you are logged in or not. Using the wrong number of "~"s counts as not signing - your signature must have both your signature itself and the time.
  5. There is a line in each section consisting of "DO NOT ADD COMMENTS OR EDIT ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE". You are to do so; do not just type your vote at the bottom of the editing window. Not following this rule results in your vote being displayed in the wrong place.
  6. Put your vote below other votes; that is, so the votes are in chronological order.
  7. You may change or remove your vote at any time. To do this you must remove your old vote in its entirety; this is an exception to the "never remove comments" rule.
  8. You may only vote in the current fight; all previous fights are closed.
  9. Do not leave a space between your comment and the ones above it (and/or below it). Extra spacing results in the list numbers becoming disjointed.
  10. While previewing an edit of a single section, you will see loose formatting marks (such as a trailing |}). Do not alter or delete them; they are important to the page's construction and only take effect when the entire round is viewed.
  11. If there are multiple fights in a single round, try to make all your votes in a single edit.
  12. Any comments about the fight should be left in the comments section. The following kinds of comments are not allowed:
    • Comments relating to how close or one-sided a matchup is.
    • Comments about other users' opinions. You can point out that a user may have gotten a fact wrong, but you can't say things along the lines of "That's not a good reason" or "But the other guy is better because X". Users can vote for any reason they want; trying to argue with someone's opinion generally has no positive outcome, in addition to simply inflating the comments section of an already rather long page.

If your vote is not added correctly - specifically, it breaks rules 3, 4, or 5 - you have a short amount of time to fix it (typically between fifteen minutes to an hour). After this time, it may be corrected and moved by any user to the Half-Votes section (adding the unsigned template if necessary), and it will count as half a vote. Attempting to move your vote out of the Half-Votes section may result in it being worth zero at an operator's discretion.

Intentional half-votes undermine the intent of the half-vote system as a way to punish voters for voting incorrectly. It is legal to want a vote to be worth half, but it is very heavily discouraged, and you must state in your vote you want it to be worth half. If you put your vote in the half-votes section without stating reasons why you want it there, it is worth zero and may be deleted by any user. You may replace it later should you do it correctly.

Round 161: Roy vs. Ike

Winner!!

Ike SSBB.jpg
A matchup between a character and the character who supposedly replaced him that ended in a tie? You know that'll get a rematch someday, and here it is! Will one of the two spiky-haired swordsman get an edge this time around?

Votes for Roy

  1. Roy is more coolsauce and he's not arrogant and boastful. Dots The Kirby NintenNESsprite.png 11:04, 27 October 2012 (EDT)

  4. Because Roy's redesign in Fire Emblem: Kakusei doesn't look nearly as retarded as Ike's. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 13:49, 27 October 2012 (EDT)

Votes for Ike

  1. One must not simply add fire to Marth. LightningBlue405MS.png 10:58, 27 October 2012 (EDT)
  2. Because Great Aether. That's all it takes for Ike to be infinitely more awesome.174.20.251.84 12:17, 27 October 2012 (EDT)

Master Hand

15.5 to 10 to 12.5
The final bosses of each game come together to fight. Which big baddie will actually be victorious?

Votes for Master Hand

  1. My favorite character in all of Smash. Mr. AnonAnon.pngtalk 23:48, 19 October 2012 (EDT)
  2. Even thing out for a brief moment. 204.191.140.194 00:11, 20 October 2012 (EDT)
  3. He came first. Terrible is Halloween 11:38, 20 October 2012 (EDT)
  4. You're fighting normal characters, than all of a sudden a giant hand appears! Supersmash4 (talk) 13:22, 20 October 2012 (EDT)
  5. Giga Bowser must really be liked if they chose him as a Final Smash over the Koopa Clown Car or Dry Bowser, but what SuperSmash4 said got me thinking, I never got to the Giga Bowser battle, so I don't have any scary memories of Bowser suddenly mutating. I do however have memories of the unexpected hand coming from no where. So, The Winner is...Master Hand! Nintendosega75 (talk) 13:27, 20 October 2012 (EDT)
  6. Easy but a lot more nostalgic. Master Hand is creativity over brutality and dominance (Giga Bowser and Tabuu respectively).LightningBlue405MS.png 19:16, 20 October 2012 (EDT)
  7. Eh. Never played Melee, so I don't know what Giga Bowser is like there, but I do know Brawl, and don't like Tabuu. Master Hand is my favorite to fight, especially when he's alongside Crazy Hand.--Starman125 (talk) 21:38, 20 October 2012 (EDT)
  8. Better, especially with Crazy Hand. Besides, he was in alll three games. SSBBNess (talk) NessHeadSSBB.png 11:48, 22 October 2012 (EDT)

  11. he is everywhere Floor2000x (talk) 23:41, 23 October 2012 (EDT)
  12. Let's make the boss of a fighting game of Nintendo characters a floating white glove? SURE --201.165.243.7 18:59, 25 October 2012 (
  13. Lets go fight a Giant Glove. What part of that doesn't sound awesome? Boxman992 16:58 October 2012 (EDT)
  14. I really like Tabuu's concepts and his Off Waves attack (aka the "Red Rings of Death"), but Super Smash Bros. 64 nailed the final boss. You vanquish oversized monkeys, clash with skilled swordsmen, ward off beasts, and eliminate polygonal knock-offs, only for your journey to culminate in a battle with a giant, white floating glove that reigns over the fighters - stationed atop a suspended platform in a foreboding expanse of space with ominous music playing in the background. Fenyx4 (talk) 20:00, 26 October 2012 (EDT)
  15. Tough choice, but ultimately I have to go with the classic final boss. 110.174.90.69 20:53, 26 October 2012 (EDT)

Votes for Giga Bowser

  1. Most dramatic entrance of the three; Tabuu just sort of appears, Master Hand, you know is there, but when Giga Bowser appears, you know shit is getting real. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 23:45, 19 October 2012 (EDT)

I still can't believe I haven't gotten to Giga Bowser yet. Man I wonder how people beat Adventure mode as weegee without wavedashing. LightningBlue405MS.png 19:17, 20 October 2012 (EDT)

I did :p You don't need wavedashing to beat up cpus. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 19:24, 20 October 2012 (EDT)
Well you're skilled anyways. :/ ShupaRoehTypicalGuy.png 22:00, 20 October 2012 (EDT)
LB: A sizeable amount. For example, I've beaten Adventure Mode with every character, but I can't wavedash at all. I could learn, but Melee is not my focus. Toast Wii U Logo Transparent.pngltimatumTransparent Swadloon.png 04:17, 21 October 2012 (EDT)
To tell you the truth LB, he was pretty easy for me, and I main Kirby. :p Smash Master 16:48, 21 October 2012 (EDT)

Nice pun you made there, ShupaRoeh. XD

No no no toast I meant to face giga bowser. I barely got through zelda when I faced her on normal mode. LightningBlue405MS.png 20:42, 26 October 2012 (EDT)
