Like many games, there are many beta elements in the games of the Super Smash Bros. series. Beta elements come in two forms. The first form is the "pre-release" form, where early screenshots and trailers of a game showcase content that is eventually changed or removed in the final version of the game. The second form is the "unused data" form, where a game's final release contains unused information, such as unused textures, models, sounds, and so on; in some cases evidence can be found for scrapped stages or even characters.
