From SmashWiki, the Super Smash Bros. wiki
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters, items, stages or anything else from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll but functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that round. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, or the stage considered more "fair", just vote if you are a total fanboy of the participant. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you don't have to have an account to vote! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.
The Rules
- When voting, you can give a brief comment on why you voted the way you did, or you can just leave your signature.
- You can only vote once. Any multiple votes will be removed.
- Put a
#
before your vote to facilitate the vote counting.
- Type
~~~~
after your vote to sign it, whether you are logged in or not. Using the wrong number of "~"s counts as not signing - your signature must have both your signature itself and the time.
- There is a line in each section consisting of "DO NOT ADD COMMENTS OR EDIT ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE". You are to do so; do not just type your vote at the bottom of the editing window. Not following this rule results in your vote being displayed in the wrong place.
- Put your vote below other votes; that is, so the votes are in chronological order.
- You may change or remove your vote at any time. To do this you must remove your old vote in its entirety; this is an exception to the "never remove comments" rule.
- You may only vote in the current fight; all previous fights are closed.
- Do not leave a space between your comment and the ones above it (and/or below it). Extra spacing results in the list numbers becoming disjointed.
- While previewing an edit of a single section, you will see loose formatting marks (such as a trailing
|}
). Do not alter or delete them; they are important to the page's construction and only take effect when the entire round is viewed.
- If there are multiple fights in a single round, try to make all your votes in a single edit.
- Any comments about the fight should be left in the comments section. The following kinds of comments are not allowed:
- Comments relating to how close or one-sided a matchup is.
- Comments about other users' opinions. You can point out that a user may have gotten a fact wrong, but you can't say things along the lines of "That's not a good reason" or "But the other guy is better because X". Users can vote for any reason they want; trying to argue with someone's opinion generally has no positive outcome, in addition to simply inflating the comments section of an already rather long page.
If your vote is not added correctly - specifically, it breaks rules 3, 4, or 5 - you have a short amount of time to fix it (typically between fifteen minutes to an hour). After this time, it may be corrected and moved by any user to the Half-Votes section (adding the unsigned template if necessary), and it will count as half a vote. Attempting to move your vote out of the Half-Votes section may result in it being worth zero at an operator's discretion.
Intentional half-votes undermine the intent of the half-vote system as a way to punish voters for voting incorrectly. It is legal to want a vote to be worth half, but it is very heavily discouraged, and you must state in your vote you want it to be worth half.
The items of most and least knockback face off. Will rapid paper strike, or will the wallop of wood win?
Votes for Home-Run Bat
- On one side, we have a weapon that does minimal damage! On another, we have a 1HKO!!! AccoolX File:Accoolx.png 09:33, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- I find throwing the Home-Run Bat at unsuspecting enemies to be more effective than slapping them around with the fan for a bit. 110.174.90.69 12:16, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- Can't play Ganondorf because the game freezes when I challenge him, so I can't vote for him. Nontheless, i still like playing Link.King KirbyD (talk) 12:18, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- My first main and first character in all the Smash series. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 12:43, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- Link always wins against Ganondorf in any The Legend of Zelda game. ..... The Autistic 13:25, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- In SSBB Link is easier to control than Ganondorf and also I don't like evil.User talk:Smashtito 14:10, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- Better on Tiers, kick ass in every zelda game. Main Character in the zelda series. Was before Ganondorf in the series? Link has superiority to Ganondorf. LightningBlue: Music is Power 15:41, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- Good will always triumph over evil.Yoshirocks341 17:30, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- Let's put it simply. The first games I remember getting are Pokemon Firered and TWILIGHT PRINCESS. You know, the game where Ganondorf looks worse than in Ocarina of Time (which I have nothing against, it's just, TP Ganondorf still scares me) Link, on the other hand, is pure amazing. I know how this got up here, but really, it's just no contest. Not exactly simply in the end, but, eh, I did it to make my point.174.20.228.189 22:50, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- I like playing as Ganondorf, but I still prefer Link. 110.174.90.69 22:58, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- Even if Link is subpar in Brawl. Ganondorf is worse. (Oh, and Link kicks ass. NUFF SAID) 75.163.139.108 02:23, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- Linky Hink or Ganondork Éh? I never played Legend of Zelda but link has a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better final smash. Ganons is easy 2 dodge like REALLY easy. stay away and barrel roll! done!99.235.62.184 14:10, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- The good guy always wins ShupaRoeh (talk) 15:23, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- Link pwnes. Smash Master 21:41, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- "link will defeat ganondorf with the master sword and his greatest move call triforce samsh. ganondorf does not stand a chance"Smash X 5432 (talk) 16:41, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
- Captain Falcon has nearly all of Ganandorf's moves only faster, leaving no point as to playing Ganondorf. Hero of Time FTW.71.48.123.111 18:47, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
- Although Link has never really been my favorite fighter to use in any of the Smash games, I still easily prefer him over Ganondorf. 140.182.165.132 12:27, 28 March 2012 (EDT)
Votes for Ganondorf
- Ganondorf doesn't like the internet. Too many Links. Toast ltimatum 13:11, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- Toast, stop with the crappy puns! :P Also, I prefer Ganondorf to Link any day. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 16:22, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- Link sucks, nuff said Mich5643 (talk) 17:28, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- Link was only ever any good in Melee. He just stank in 64, and in Brawl he had to deal with Toon Link. And I never even played as Young Link... 24.168.93.12 19:53, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- Ganondorf has the thunder stomp, and was actually competitively viable in a Smash game. Omega Tyrant 23:16, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- "Interesting. Want to hear my counterargument?...I'm going to violently ram my elbow into your face."-Ganondorf, Melee's End 123JamesHeart 00:59, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- Mai boi --Fan275 12:05, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- I am not a Zelda fan, but if I had to pick, it'd be Ganon. Can KO better than even Bowser. Link's got his work cut out for him, I tell you what. 97.67.160.226 14:51, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- Perhaps one could consider Link's actions as villainous at times. MegaTron1XD 18:59, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
- Ganon Punch is too good. --Havoc48 >:D!!! 20:30, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
Did anyone get my suggestion for this fight? ..... The Autistic 13:25, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- Toast has failed yet again to produce a good pun. LightningBlue: Music is Power 15:43, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- Icicle Mountain was supposed to be pitiful, but I see nothing wrong with Ganondorf's. In fact, this is on now. If that pun was "bad", I'd bloody love to hear a better one from you. I await your response >:) Toast ltimatum 18:52, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
- Okay then. "Link doesn't play World of Warcraft, too many (ganon)dwarfs." --Fan275 12:04, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- I have yet to hear a good pun. Solar Dragon (Talk • Contribs.) 12:51, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- What the heck are your standards? Tell us all how to make a good pun. Toast ltimatum 13:13, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- As my friend says, everyone says they hate puns. In reality, everyone secretly loves puns. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 13:18, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- Toast, I can't tell you how to make a good pun as no puns are good. The Solar Dragon 14:53, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- Conclusion: There is no good pun. Unless it's funny. LightningBlue: Music is Power 23:46, 26 March 2012 (EDT)
- Real Conclusion: None of this stuff has to do with my question, so why produce something random? ..... The Spectre 17:12, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
- How about this one last pun: The YouTube video for the fan movie where Ganondorf gets all three pieces of the Triforce is gone! Well I guess... *puts on sunglasses* there was a dead Link. AccoolX File:Accoolx.png 17:17, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
- All that I just asked is just a simple question, I suggested the Link vs. Ganondorf match a while ago. I'm just asking who put up this match for me. All of this pun talk is irrelevant to my question. (no offense) ..... The Spectre 17:22, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
- Only Toomai is able to change the matches on Smash Arena. He chooses to save certain suggestions for later, allowing him to spread out the good and decent ideas. MegaTron1XD 18:59, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
- So saying a suggestion works too? ..... The Spectre 19:02, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
