Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll but functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that round. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, just vote if you are a total fanboy of the character. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.

The Rules

  1. When voting, you can give a brief comment on why you voted the way you did, or you can just leave your signature.
  2. You can only vote once. Any multiple votes will be removed.
  3. Put a # before your vote to facilitate the vote counting.
  4. Type ~~~~ after your vote to sign it, whether you are logged in or not.
  5. There is a line in each section consisting of "DO NOT ADD COMMENTS OR EDIT ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE". You are to do so; do not just type your vote at the bottom of the editing window. Not following this rule results in your vote being displayed in the wrong place.
  6. Put your vote below other votes; that is, so the votes are in chronological order.
  7. Any comments about the fight should be left in the comment section.
  8. You may only vote in the current fight; all previous fights are closed.
  9. Do not leave a space between your comment and the ones above it (and/or below it).
  10. Do not put your vote in the Half-Votes section. It is not where anonymous users vote, nor is it acceptable to want your vote to be worth half. It is basically saying "I want to be punished", and you will be treated accordingly.

If your vote is not added correctly - that is, it breaks rules 3, 4, or 5 - you have one hour to fix it. After this time, it may be moved by any user to the Half-Votes section (adding the unsigned template if necessary), and it will count as half a vote. Attempting to move your vote out of the Half-Votes section may result in it being worth zero at an operator's discretion. In addition, if your votes-to-rulebreaks ratio climbs too high, your votes may count for zero until the ratio drops to an acceptable level.

Holy smokes! In honour of the good old Nintendo 64, this special round of Smash Arena puts it between the entire cast of the original Super Smash Bros.! This fight won't count towards the official statistics, but it sure counts in all other ways (like bragging rights and so on). The chances of a tie are higher than ever before, so make sure your vote counts!

Votes for Mario

Votes for Luigi

  1. Luigi's my best character among this group of fighters, so he gets my vote. FIRE JUMP PUNCH!!!!! BrawlingbrianFalcoHead.pngSmashBall.png LANDMASTER!

Votes for Yoshi

Votes for Donkey Kong

  1. I'm just going to vote for DK because I've always been able to do good with him in my past years and got a very good record with him in 1P mode. Gotta love the back throw! Doc King (talk) 21:10, 10 December 2010 (EST)

Votes for Link

  1. I kinda want to vote for Luigi and some others, but after all the crap his spin attack's been getting, I need to make a stand.-Ivy73002MS.png 18:36, 10 December 2010 (EST)
  2. Link...just because Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask were the best N64 games in my opinion, well actually Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie are the best N64 games but they're not options :PGig (talk) 01:53, 11 December 2010 (EST)

Votes for Samus

Votes for Fox

  1. I've liked Fox's overwhelming speed in all three games and how effective his moveset is. He definately gets my vote here. T.testLPThe Communicator|The...WhateverGanondorfHead.pngGanondorf da bess! 23:12, 10 December 2010 (EST)

Votes for Kirby

  1. It's a tough choice between him and Falcon, and I haven't played SSB64 in nearly 10 years (nor have I ever owned it). Falcon was my second favorite in Melee and is my current favorite in Brawl Minus. But Kirby was an early favorite in Melee (despite how awful of a character he was), I'm a fan of his series outside Smash Bros. (where I'm not with F-Zero), and most importantly, I like him much more in Brawl (where he is a main and Falcon is not), my smash game of choice. So I'll support the super tuff pink puff here. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 18:47, 10 December 2010 (EST)
  2. Sorry Ness, but I main Kirby, not you, so I'm voting for him. Mr. Anon (talk) 19:51, 10 December 2010 (EST)
  3. Well, I'm known as the kirby fanboy at my school, so TEH KIRBY RULZ!Vincent Tran Blorbs?Kirby-1.png 21:33, 10 December 2010 (EST)

Votes for Pikachu

  1. I was sooo close to voting for captain falcon, but I decided to vote for pikachu instead, just 'cause he didn't have any votes yet, and thunder is an amazingly epic move... PIKA....CHUUUU!!!!! 202.173.132.19 21:39, 10 December 2010 (EST)

Votes for Jigglypuff

Votes for Captain Falcon

  1. C Falcon was the **** and his uair still destroys, FALCON PUNCH 129.82.71.91 18:36, 10 December 2010 (EST)
  2. My main, and the Punch is at it's best, before a bujillion nerfs in later games. havoC-- 19:19, 10 December 2010 (EST)
  3. Oh man, such a tough decision. I love pretty much all the characters in 64, but if I had to go with one, JUST ONE, it would be Falcon, with his retardedly sexy combo ability, and, of course, the almighty Falcon Punch. It's such a shame what they did to him in Brawl. I used to call him Captain Falcman when I was younger, which is a sign of how many he is!! Anthony1996 (talk) 19:31, 10 December 2010 (EST)
  4. Captain Falcon has always been my favourite character. 110.174.90.69 22:51, 10 December 2010 (EST)

Votes for Ness

  1. i like ness and his strategic gameplay and plus hes the underdog. always go for the underdog!Sonicsmasher777 (talk) 19:37, 10 December 2010 (EST)
  2. (I haven't voted in Smash Arena for a long time, but I couldn't turn this one down :P). Anyway, I'm actually really good with Ness. Like what SonicSmasher said, I like the strategic gameplay too. Also, one of my favorite games is EarthBound. Unknown the Hedgehog 21:26, 10 December 2010 (EST)

Toomai, are you sure this will work? Are there different rules for this fight? Mr. Anon (talk) 19:52, 10 December 2010 (EST)

No idea if it'll "work", but hey, it'll be dang interesting, and you gotta do something new every now and then. Toomai Glittershine Data Node 20:02, 10 December 2010 (EST)
Wow Toomai, what a good idea to do, I also love that you chose this for the 64th round for a 64 game :D! Should we do this for Melee and Brawl also? Doc King (talk) 21:12, 10 December 2010 (EST)
Do you really want a 40 character arena battle? Mr. Anon (talk) 21:19, 10 December 2010 (EST)
Yeah there is little chance I'd consider anything above 12 participants; even this was a stretch. The format just isn't made for battle royals. Toomai Glittershine Data Node 21:40, 10 December 2010 (EST)

I always look forward to a new Smash Arena battle, but this one was a surprise. I really can't decide on my vote this time. BrawlingbrianFalcoHead.pngSmashBall.png LANDMASTER!

I dont think any vote will ever be harder than this one ToT forgive me mario, luigi, yoshi,DK,kirby, fox, ness, and captain falcon, specially you kirby and fox,my first and only mains ever in any smash game so many years ago when the game first came out, youre all awesome T~TGig (talk) 01:59, 11 December 2010 (EST)

Round 63: 75m vs. Green Hill Zone

Winner!!
Green Hill Zone
Green Hill Zone.jpg

14.5 to 25
Green Hill Zone.jpg
While neither of these stages are tournament-friendly, they're both located in places that started their respective series (and arguably the big two gaming streams of the 90s). Is the iconic construction site or the loopy grassland the more popular battleground?

Votes for 75m

  1. It's fun throwing barrels as Donkey Kong on this stage in Brawl Minus. Plus, overly large stages > overly small stages for me. Omega TyrantTyranitarMS.png 18:35, 3 December 2010 (EST)
  2. This is a classic! And who cares if it's not fair. Not all stages have to be 100% tournament safe, people. Mr. Anon (talk) 19:35, 3 December 2010 (EST)
  3. While I enjoy the defending lightbulb spinners on Green Hill Zone, the utter and awesome randomness of 75m never ceases to amaze me. And I always find the most hilarious KO's to be on that stage. Welikeikeandfoxes (talk) 20:46, 3 December 2010 (EST)
  4. Let's see..... A stage featuring DK and Mario.... Or a stage featuring sonic.... Hmmmmm. Well, Dk and Mario it is!Vincent Tran Blorbs?Kirby-1.png 21:14, 3 December 2010 (EST)
  5. I prefer stages that are from a decade before other stages... --Smash-jay (talk) 22:36, 3 December 2010 (EST)
  6. Though I prefer GHZ's music, and is less cheap, 75m for starting off Mario and Donkey Kong. havoC-- 23:37, 3 December 2010 (EST)
  7. I am king of this level. Just sit on my favourite platform and wait it out until everyone else has died! ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 09:15, 4 December 2010 (EST)
  8. I agree with Omega Tyrant: small stages suck. Doctor Pain 99 (CTE) 16:45, 4 December 2010 (EST)
  9. I'm not really a fan of either, but here's the thing. Green Hill zone is subject to tons of kills on the sides. Sure this is true with 75m as well, but it's bigger, and ergo less likely. Both stages are very cramped, but 75m is a bigger cramp, so yeah, I'm having trouble getting my point across on that one, heh. The spinning checkpoints are WAY cheaper than the fire guys and DK. DK can be easily avoided, the fire guys are a pain, but not too bad. The only things are the springs, which I admit are annoying as Meta Knight's Tornado! Hey, I never said I liked 75m, it's just the least bad of the two. And on a side note, I absolutely HATE the Sonic music. My least favorite songs of the series come from there primarily. There are a few good ones, like the Green Hill Zone theme song, but those annoying-arse songs like Seven Rings in Hand are just weird. We don't need sappy rock songs during a Brawl. And I don't even want to speak about Sonic Racers 'shudders'. I like all three of 75m's songs. 25 BGM was very nostalgic for me (sure I'm a teenager, but I used to play my fair share of old video games, like Donkey Kong), the Donkey Kong remix was just awesome and fun, and the Donkey Kong opening was just...yeah. Not bad. So! There was have it, 75m has my vote. My very long vote at that. Mowrt620 (talk)Mowrt620
  10. I dont have this stage yet, but it looks fun!207.190.75.131 19:08, 5 December 2010 (EST)
  11. 75 m is like... bringing the old times... green hill zone? not really Lucasthefourth (talk) 14:38, 6 December 2010 (EST)
  12. 75m isn't camped hard enough compared to GHZ. Seriously, Green Hill's the most campy stage ever to be declared legal. (Though it was declared illegal afterwards.)T.testLPThe Communicator|The...WhateverGanondorfHead.pngGanondorf da bess! 23:52, 6 December 2010 (EST)
  13. 75m is better as I like Mario series! Also, I hate Green Hill Zone as I hate Sonic series! Super Smash Bros. series are suppose to be a battle of Nintendo game characters! That Sonic the Humbug is corrupting the Super Smash Bros. series along with Slow-mind Snake! Super Smash Bros. series is about to turn into M.U.G.E.N.!!! Anyway, I don't like bent stages(hard to do side smash).SuperMarioKingdom (talk)SuperMarioKingdom
  14. I may not have been alive when Donkey Kong came out, but it still makes me nostalgic XDDhawk (talk) 20:46, 8 December 2010 (EST)

  1. My suggestion is up! I like Sonic :p--MegaTron1XD:p 18:31, 3 December 2010 (EST)
  2. Frankly, 75m is my least favorite stage. Besides, I like the spinning balloon things on Green Hill Zone. BrawlingbrianFalcoHead.pngSmashBall.png LANDMASTER!
  3. I really dislike 75m. Green Hill Zone is a little plain, but it's much better than 75m. Besides, the music is better there, too. Green Mario (talk) 19:19, 3 December 2010 (EST)

  5. 75m deserves to die in a hole. It's my least favorite stage EVER. IN ANY GAME. 24.164.142.186 20:48, 3 December 2010 (EST)
  6. Funner stage than 75m. 110.174.90.69 21:15, 3 December 2010 (EST)
  7. I'm just gonna vote for this crap because you can actually fight and do combos here and its not like a whole obstacle course. Also this is a huge advantage to Dedede :D! Doc King (talk) 22:45, 3 December 2010 (EST)
  8. Better stage, easier to fight in it, and because i prefer Sonic then DK. --UilMash (talk) 01:48, 4 December 2010 (EST)
  9. It´s easier to fight in this stage, and the music rocks! Ryder (talk) 05:06, 4 December 2010 (EST)
  10. Even though it's so cramped, I prefer it over 75m, alot. 81.155.90.214 05:07, 4 December 2010 (EST)
  11. Ít´s way more easy to fight , and 75m can kill you. 85.240.154.113 06:10, 4 December 2010 (EST)
  12. Ugh. 75m is an absolute hell level for me. Any level that makes your character the size of a postage stamp is absolutely annoying, and the springs — sorry, "jacks" — and chance of Donkey Kong hitting you are downright aggravating. Then we have Green Hill Zone. Friend to many, enemy to Robotnik. The ground breaks off (though you can just jump to get out of it), there's the easily-avoidable but oh-so-fun spinning checkpoint, and then we have the left-right boundaries that are very close to the edge of the screen… but not quite as close as those of 75m. No contest. Reflex 09:09, 4 December 2010 (EST)
  13. I love this level so much because the checkpoint its fun blowing others using it, I also hate level 75m its hard zeezow 07:02, 4 december 2010 (EST)
  14. SONIC IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Brawliac (talk) 15:47, 4 December 2010 (EST)
  15. First of all, I think that Green Hill Zone Is WAY easier to play on! Second, GHZ has WAY better music. Third, You don't have to go crazy trying to get on the moving platforms. Forth, GHZ actually HAS a BackGround! And fifth, Cooler. Mesuxelf Blazeicon.png (talk) 16:03, 4 December 2010 (EST)
  16. GHZ is the main level of my favorite charecter so i got to pick it.Sonicsmasher777 (talk) 23:41, 4 December 2010 (EST)
  17. Green Hill Zone is all kinds of fun. Great music, ok size, fairly unobtrusive hazards... it's just a good stage overall! ~ C.Olimar788 (talk) 03:03, 5 December 2010 (EST)
  18. pfft what a joke of a match, green hill all the way,i wouldnt play on 75m even for fun,it only has one good song, looks like crap, and battling there is near impossible, would have been a better match if it was 75m vs that god forsaken crab infested sewer, cuz they both equally suck ass....should have brought back two N64 stages instead of those retro pieces of s#$tGig (talk) 04:16, 5 December 2010 (EST)
  19. feels more realistic than 75mmPikachu8090 (talk) 10:57, 5 December 2010 (EST)
  20. Awesome music and i just hate 75m - Jacobdf11 Ganon ftw (talk) 14:13, 5 December 2010 (EST)
  21. I absolutely suck on 75m, while you can say I'm actually almost close to being 1% remotely close to being 1% decent on this stage, because I love taking advantage of those checkpoint things, as well as the falling ground. Also, cool music. Anthony1996 (talk) 16:52, 5 December 2010 (EST)
  22. I really hate the spinning light-bulbs, but not as much as the random barrels and missing floor,--Jespoke (talk) 15:44, 8 December 2010 (EST)
  23. I like how the 75m stage resembles the real level, BUT, I dislike the stage. 71.193.138.207 20:10, 9 December 2010 (EST)

  3. I totally HATE! 75m because when the D.K. pops out and the (it looks like springs) come flying at you and WHAM! K.O. i'd rather choose Green Hill Zone because i LOVE the look of it and Silver,Tails, and Knuckles going around behind the stage is cool BUUUUT! one little bad thing i don't like is one of the music (right there ride on) WHO WOULD MAKE THAT THE LYRICS! it's a little annoying i mean (right there ride on right there ride on) it's like SHUT UP! but other then that i love the other music. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.243.184.78 (talkcontribs) 14:14, 6 December 2010 (EST)

Well, I just noticed that for the votes on Green Hill Zone, that it was numbered 1,2,1,2. Welikeikeandfoxes (talk) 20:47, 3 December 2010 (EST)

Fixed, something was wrong with a signature. Toomai Glittershine Data Node 21:41, 3 December 2010 (EST)

OT, you're actually wrong saying that Green hill is very small, I think its overall average size (A lot of sky XD). Doc King (talk) 14:03, 4 December 2010 (EST)

Green Hill Zone is certainly one of the smallest stages in Brawl, and I'm certainly not wrong when I say it's overly small. Sure, the amount of ground you can stand on may make it look "average", but there are no edges on the sides and the blast lines are suffocatingly close (which, the blast lines are what I use to consider a stage's size). But alas, read what I told Gig (which was also aimed at you) in the comments section in the previous Smash Arena battle. Omega TyrantTyranitarMS.png 16:14, 4 December 2010 (EST)

@Mesuxelf: Of course 75m doesn't have a background, you have got to remember, you've got a stage from an NES games vs. a stage from a Sega Genesis (plus if they did add one it would be generic anyway). havoC-- 11:39, 5 December 2010 (EST)

I knew there were people who didn't like 75m but this vote right now is just ridiculous - Jacobdf11 Ganon ftw (talk) 18:24, 5 December 2010 (EST)

When you put it that way OT, it makes sense. Very unique stage. Doc King (talk) 13:34, 5 December 2010 (EST)

SuperMarioKingdom, your wrong saying that Snake is a slow character, Snake has some fast moves like DACUS, his tilts, throws, and some special moves are pretty fast. And they're not destroying the smash series at all, whats so wrong with a couple of guest? Doc King (talk) 17:43, 8 December 2010 (EST)

Didn't I told you twice already that the Smash Arena is not a place for arguments? Stop trying to argue with anyone who posts something on here that you don't agree with. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 18:06, 8 December 2010 (EST)
Well, there's no rule saying you can't argue about anything. So then it's ok. Doc King (talk) 17:35, 10 December 2010 (EST)
No rule saying you can't be an asshole here, yet you don't be an asshole. You waste time arguing and accomplish nothing.--MegaTron1XD:p 17:49, 10 December 2010 (EST)
