Trivia[edit]

  • This is the second Online Tourney based on the Pokémon series, following Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield! in 2019. As such, the lineup of fighters and stages are identical between the two, making it the first event tourney to feature the same available fighters and stages as a previous tourney. However, unlike the previous tournament, Pokémon Smash restricts the available items to Pokémon-related items (as well as the Smash Ball).
  • This Online Tourney shares its name with a battle type in Smash Tour.
  • The banner being split into a red and green side is a reference to Pokémon Red and Green or possibly their remakes Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen
    • This is further referenced with trainer Red being on the red side and trainer Leaf being on the green side.
  • All of the Pokémon on Red's side are Pokémon that are trained by his anime counterpart, Ash Ketchum.
